I do. I am very proud of myself for it too. After those very hot and wet days with a Sabre and a small bag. I just continue to forge ahead. I think I lost my mental parachute to a basketball sized hole and I had an explosion with my religious canopy. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

That was a good rec.skydiving discussion wasn't it. Ahhhhh! Memories. It just got annoying after a while. I would recommend searching for skyballs on rec.skydive, and for god's sake, do not post this question or all hell might break loose again. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

From 18,000' you only need oxygen until you exit, after that you will be ok. Its only from the really high altitudes like 30,000+ that you need a full suit on with oxygen for freefall. Safe landings, Alex D-23912 -
Hey Dutchboy, do you really think that you could fit 6-8 skydivers into a 206? A King Air is a little big for only 6-8 jumpers and the expense would probably outweigh the earnings. Never jumped one but what about a Beaver or something like that. Maybe a Porter? Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Didn't you get the Safire 150 I sent you? Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Thats weird that that happened on a Voodoo. They are supposed to be one of the safest rigs out there. My guess is that it wasn't because of the rig, it probably had something to do with a loose PC or possibly he bumped it in the plane or on exit? Good thing I have myself a Relative Workshop rig instead of one of those crap Rigging Innovations, hehe. J/K I had a Talon for a year and I loved it. I guess this story goes to show you that no rig is completely fool proof. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

They did try and make it sound lower than it was. They said he was about 10 seconds to impact which would put him somewhere around 2000' at 135 mph, yet every camera guy and stabilizer for the cage was still hanging in there. Then they said 6 seconds. Yeah right. They said his freefall was 45 seconds long right? Well, if that was the case, from 18,000' that would put him around 5,000'-6,000'. I am doing some serious rough estimating here. Anyways, they always try and make it more dramatic than it really is. As for the extra parachute on his back, I didn't notice that one. Night jumps freakin rock!! I wish I had more but I only have one. Shhhhh!! Don't tell. I will get more as soon as my DZO stops sucking and starts letting us do them more. It took some serious protesting to get in my one night jump last year. I can't wait! Safe landings, Alex D-23912

You guys are completely looking over the fact that some people actually do fly their canopies backwards on purpose. I have heard a story of a guy who has over a thousand backwards canopy landings. I wouldn't worry about who packed it next time, I would worry about who that person likes to fly their canopy. If they like anything odd like flying it BACKWARDS!!! then perhaps it would be better to borrow someone elses gear. Other than that, it sounds like a fun jump! Safe landings, Alex D-23912

That video sounds insane! I wish I could see it. Hellian, BASE rigs don't have 2 canopies and therefore can't cutaway. If you have an entanglement then you are screwed. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Just to add to that, at Greensburg yesterday we had a jumper land off the DZ. He was last reported to be seen in a hard spiral under canopy until he disappeared behind a hill. When a few people finally found him he supposedly had many broken bones in his leg, busted up his face, and had a lot of bleeding. It is unclear if he will be ok or not. I could be wrong about these injuries but thats what they told me. The winds were relatively high yesterday but from what witnesses saw, it doesn't really sound like they were a factor as to anything more than the landing off part. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

He will dearly be missed. Where would the world be if it wasn't for the smiley? We will never know. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Hey lazerq3, I am taking a JCC/ICC in a few days. Then I will be a static line J/M. Yes!! Gonna start making some money and get in some free jumps. Plus, all of the employees at my DZ get $16 jump tickets!! Look out! I'm really gonna start pulling them in soon. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Thanks divadiver! Not all men are like that. I know of a couple who would never take advantage of a girl even if they were given the chance. I happen to be one of those people. I agree that there are a whole lot of guys who ruin the image for the rest of us. The problem is that many girls look for guys with those bad qualities whether they know it or not. Then when the guy shows those qualities once he knows that he has the girl she starts whining and complaining and then filing law suits for rape and sexual harrassment. In my opinion, a lot of girls out there need to learn a few things when it comes to deciding on what they want. If you want a guy to be nice to you then look for the nice guys, not the bad boys who have had a whole lot of girlfriends because there must be a reason why they can't hang on to a girl, so don't think that you are gonna be any different. Its the same thing with those women activist people. They want equal rights but aren't ready to put up with equal responsibility. Don't get me wrong, I certainly know that there are a whole lot of women out there who aren't like this at all, but there sure as hell is a lot that are. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

That totally sucks all. I would hate to be on a jury. Hopefully it will be over with really fast. I would always end up falling asleep or something like that. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Thats an entirely different story at night. I just got off the phone with some of my friends who went to Florida to jump around down there. They really wanted me to go with them but I know that they are getting drunk and high all the time. That is definately not for me. They have already done a naked jump. I don't think I want to do that. I'll stick to my clean, sober skydives. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Hahaha!!! That is the funniest thing ever. It all makes sense now. I suspect that to be the case but I had no proof. You finally solved the ultimate riddle of my life! J/K. Thats cool though. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

Hehe. I guess I am pretty lucky. Its not easy coming up with the money to skydive when you are 16. I had a lot of help from my mom. But it has all been worth it. Here I am, 18 years old, with 225 jumps and my D license, not that I'm rubbing it in or anything. Hehe. Ok, maybe just a little. But age doesn't matter. Its all about the sport. Skydive forever!!
