  1. Hehe. That one was a good one as well. Gotta love that skydiving magazine. They always give you something to talk about. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  2. I was a S/L student. Those AFF babies don't even know what its like to be attached to a rope from 3.5k and drop repeatedly to horrible openings. I love low altitude as long as its in moderation. Hanging from the strut is the easiest and one of my favorite ways to exit now. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  3. Fear in moderation is definately a good thing. It will always keep you checking your gear and reviewing safety issues. On the other hand, too much fear can cloud your judgement and cause you to behave irradically. I wouldn't worry too much as long as you stay safe. Be careful and have fun! Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  4. It all started off with a guy at my DZ with a bad landing. He was fine except for the fact that his rig was covered in grass stains from when he turned WAY to low to avoid landing off the windline. Not a very smart move. Next my friend had a broken B cascade line, only it broke up at the tac where its attached to the canopy. It was then forced through the grommet of his slider the wrong direction. We concluded that it was probably a tension knot or the slider snagged it on opening. The most freaky incident of the day involved a near fatality. A student doing his first BOC jump managed to get his pilot chute between his legs and around his chest. He was observed on his back spinning through 1000'. His cypres fired a tiny bit late. He was under his reserve for 4 seconds before he touched the ground. Supposedly right after his reserve opened his feet touched the top of a tree. On a lighter note, yesterday we had a runaway cow run down our taxi-way and across the runway. It was a good thing the plane wasn't coming in to land. The cow eventually jumped the fence and ran through a corn field. What a weekend indeed. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  5. The old ads are good but I still like the new ads as well. I love the ad in skydiving of the topless tandem, not because it is a good ad, but because there is so much turmoil over it that it definately did its job in getting attention to its product. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  6. My hands are pretty old but DZ.com doesn't seem to think so just yet. I guess I should learn to ramble more and post to things for no reason at all. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  7. You can't have her because she is MINE!! J/K. My girl would body slam her and then kick her in the head. Man I love my girlfriend! Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  8. I had a great time on the ground seeing as how I am still recovering from my mid-air collision 2 weeks ago. Thats ok because I should be able to jump next weekend. I haven't done 10 in one day ever. My record is 6. That rocks! Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  9. Gotta watch out for those Twin Bonanzas. I have only jumped one once but I know what they are capable of. Last year we had one visit our DZ for a day. It only flew 3 loads. On the last load the power managed to go out and the pilot had to land the plane almost in the dark with no lights. I happened to be on the load before that one. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  10. That doesn't sound too unreasonable mountainman. I bet I could pull that off before I'm 20 if I really tried. Of course I don't really want to. I think I want to leave the fun in skydiving rather than taking a lot of responsibility for people's lives that you probably don't even know. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  11. It would have to be a plane that vibrates a little more such as a Beech 18 or a Beaver (no pun intended). Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  12. Hmmmm, doesn't sound like too much fun to me. I guess you definately must be drunk before you try it. All that would do is kill brain cells. Not too smart. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  13. I will probably be a S/L JM in a few weeks and I'm only 18. This isn't guaranteed yet though. I am still having doubts. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  14. After a year and 200 jumps on my Sabre 170 I haven't had any hard openings. I can assure you that this is not because of my packing seeing as how I am not the neatest packer on the DZ. Older Sabres open hard because the slider is too small. I believe that they changed the slider size sometime in the early 90s. If thats not the case then perhaps its just a really bad pack job or a lemon canopy. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  15. Yep, sure do. I should be jumping next weekend full force. I am the guy with the black and white Vector 3. My jump clothes are pretty much all black. Can't miss me. I'll be looking for you. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  16. This happened today and was my first jump of the weekend. We were doing a tube jump with around 6 people. The guy pulling the tube was a little slow so I was on my back for most of the jump. Concentrating on my destination point I lost sight of the airspace above me. My friend lost sight of the airspace below him because he was in a sit fly. He ended up hitting me very hard on my head and chest. I thought I was gonna pass out for a second but then I realised that I had to pull. I couldn't even wave off because my arms hurt so bad. He was basically uninjured and I just bruised my chest and back but it hurts so bad. I just got back from the hospital so I know that everything is most likely ok. Ouch!! Just be careful out there people. Safe landings, Alex D-23912

    Soul mates

I think that there are just some people that work really well together whether they are soul mates or not I don't really know. I just hope that my girl is the one because I couldn't stand to lose her. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  18. Doctors suck. Thats what they get for going to 8 years of college and dedicating their lifes work to helping people. They should all be banished from the earth. If I need a heart transplant then I guess thats what the Almighty put spoons on this earth for. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  19. I couldn't believe that when I heard it. I only got to listen to the episode. I didn't actually watch it due to various reasons. I think they overdid it just a bit. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  20. Just remember that the DZ is most likely to be under you. Of course this won't be the case if you are out after several groups but remember to always look down first. I have very little DZ experience. I have only been to two different DZs. I'm looking forward to trying out a few but I figure, if I have a great DZ to jump at then why should I go anywhere else? Safe landings, Alex D-23912

    Music?

I don't know Zennie, I really like Jake E. Lee with Ozzy. Randy was cool and all but I think he stands as a great example as to what happens when you play around in an airplane too much. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  22. Big hair bands rock!! Sure, most of their songs might suck, but they usually have a couple of really good songs. They look pretty cool also. I used to have really long hair. Too bad it was straight. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  23. I agree Jtval. I enjoy a lot of technical stuff. You ever heard Dream Theater? They are about as technical as they get. Thats not just the only cool thing about them either. They write some awesome songs! I encourage everyone to check 'em out. They have a very diverse style. Just about everyone can find a song that they like by them, except for country or rap. Of course there are a bunch of other great bands out there. Cacophony being a very technical band that is great. There music isn't to diverse though. I just have a certain group that I love. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  24. Hahaha!!! I just got it! I'm a little slow. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
  25. I am with you on all of that. There is so much stuff that sucks. I personally dislike almost all of the popular stuff. Of course there are a few exceptions but it is the easiest way to define what I listen to. Safe landings, Alex D-23912
