  2. Vagina's are AWESOME. It says so in the otter at Perris Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  3. Managed to see the film on Monday. I have been a fan of the Guide for many years and have experienced most of its incarnations. The film is very very funny and well worth watching although I did find the ending trailed off a little. It pretty much follows the book and TV series with some minor changes. The main characters have been cast very well with Mos Def playing Ford just as I imagined him, Steven Fry is excellent as the voice of the Guide and Sam Rockwell plays Zaphod just right. Some of the most noteable inclusions to the film are the Slapsticks and the Point of View Gun. One thing I was annoyed at being left out was the complete explanation from the guide of the Babel Fish and the importance of towels. The latter particularly important as the Bug Blatter Beast of Trall makes an appearance. On the whole this is far better than I expected a big budget film of the Guide to be, and the way is left open for the Resturant and hopefully the other books also. Buzz A hoopy frood who really knows where his towel is.
  4. No probs bud, i will send you the info tomorrow. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  5. I am an instructor at RAPA in Germany, you may know my boss Paul "Ginge" Moore who used to jump at P Lee. All our staff FS suits are Rainbow, and all the free flyers on staff have Rainbow FF pants. They also make great swoop pants. There kit is bullet proof, I cannot recomend it highly enough. They have started doing a FF pant/jacket combi which is the mutts nuts. If you have any probs ordering one from the UK let me know and I will do it for you. I am not a dealer and cant offer any deals but we do have a good relationship with Rainbow. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  6. Any chance of you coming to RAPA?? With flights from Paderborne to Stansted as little as £20 it could be a good option for the local jumpers. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  7. We are about 2 1/2 hours away at BAd Lipspringe. We are a 7 day a week operation, with 2 turbine Islanders and all the instructors are British, so no language probs. www.jspc.de The web site is in German but easy enough to navigate. 9. Last Chance to See is also a very good read. Buzz Oh frettled grunt buggly
  10. Before you do that have a chat with your CCI, and tell him you are interested in becoming an instructor. Without his recomendation you wont get on a course. Once he has agreed to let you train for your CSBI's Course prpare to miss out on some jumping. You will need to spend a fair ammount of time preparing for the course, this means sitting in on lessons and briefs when every one else is getting in the air. Once you have completed your CSBI Course be prepared to be the DZ CSBiatch. You should be prepeared to do as much work as the CCI wants you to do, teaching, dispatching, briefing etc. etc. Again you will be doing this when every one else is jumping. So why would anyone want to be an instructor??? Once you have dispatched the first student you trained from start to finish, once you have cleared your first student for free fall, when you award your first CAT VIII and if you are lucky enough award FS1 to a student who you have progressed through the Category System you will know. We teach 45 students every 2 weeks and the job satisfaction from the above never diminishes. Good luck bud. And tell "H" I said hi. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

  13. Come visit RAPA your BPA will be valid here but not elsewhere in Germany. Bad Lipspringe - Koln = 190Km Bad Lipspringe - Dusseldorf = 176Km Bad Lipspringe - Bonn = 215Km We are a 7 day a week operation, run by Brit Military. The Boss is an old P Lee jumper. Buzz
  14. Dont worry we have all done that My renewal was posted in good time, I know this because the other 10 members of staff at RAPA recieved theirs before 01 April. Mine however had not arrived before I left to attend my Tandem Inst course on 03 Apr (say hi to Mike Beeden for me). I did however check with the BPA web site to confirm my renewal, and took a printout with me to Langar (which was acceptable) My new BPA membership arrived yesterday, the reason it was late seems to be that it was sent to my previous address. Perhaps you are thinking that I was at fault for not informing the BPA of my new address. Had the paperwork for my Tandem course not been delivered to my new address I could conceed that point, however that is not the case. My point, being as I have digressed somewhat is that not all those without membership this weekend were at fault. With reference to car insurance, if the accident happens after start time and date stated on the policy, as long as you have proof the renewal was signed sent, and payment had been paid prior to the start time and date than yes they would pay out. Although I guess most people use Direct Debits now. Unfortunatly that seems to be the case at a lot of DZ's. Tandems are where the money is. I was once told by the CCI at one DZ that he would rather give jumpers £5 and send them to another DZ to jump. They are less financially viable than Tandems. You could always pop over to RAPA and do more than 4 lifts a day, and you would easily save the cost of an Air Berlin flight in jump tickets and beer, (are there many DZ bars that sell Becks for 50p a bottle and still make a profit)? We will even pick you up from the airport for free. Could you be a blonde in freefly pants? or preferably a red head Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

  16. Andy As Chris said above, with conventional elipticals, airlocked included you are out of the power band at this kind of loading. Have you demo'd the Samurai?? Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  17. Thanks Chriss, good stuff there. Fortunately for me I am a full time instructor so in the 2 weeks i have it weather permitting I can make a shit load of jumps from between 5 and 12k. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  18. Certainly was when I bust my ankle 3 years ago, 1100 jumps later Im pretty happy I learned my lesson. Thanks for your constructive advice Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  19. Yup its a big jump alright, hence this post for peoples experiences on the same wing at the same loading. I would not want to load either a xfire or Katana at this kind of WL as they are not designed to be loaded that high. The Velo on the other hand is. I have over 1400 jumps on elipticals loaded between 1.7 and 1.9. I had coaching from Jim Slaton at Perris last year, Chris Lynch is running Wingtips at my DZ this weekend. The CCI at my DZ is an extremely experienced canopy pilot, one of the best in the UK and has coached me over the last year, and he is confident in my ability to pilot the Velo 120. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  20. I am picking up a demo Velo 120 at the weekend for a couple of weeks. I am currently flying a Stiletto 150, and wondered if there are any larger jumpers loading up the Velo 120 to a simmilar level. I am interested in there observations about thee canopy in particular there progression to that kind of WL. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  21. Just seen this on RealityTV a sattelite channel on UK Sky. Cant help wondering why he spent so long trying to cut away his main when all he had to do was roll over and dump his reserve. Unless I am missing something, he said that his pilot chute had deployed and wrapped around his arm. He said nothing about the main deploying and judging by the attitude of his body on the video I would say it hadnt. Cutting away the main which was still in the container would have had no effect on the pilot chute. He was below 2k when he cutaway that is a lot of time he wasted. Does anyone know Scott? or does he post here? Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  22. I have the Epson R200. Its a little slow but the prints are awesome. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

  24. Chinese guns in fact The metal is very hard to work and they ave enough for another 85 medals. I was very suprised that he didnt get presented it by the Queen, what with it being the highest military decoration. Jeremy Clarkeson (UK motoring journo) did a vey good programe on the VC, I am sure it will be repeated on UK tv soon enough. Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
  25. Know any one who was murdered by the IRA?? I knew 2 people who lost there lives to the IRA, not to mention being shot at whilst patrolling in the Province. The majority of the timline was inoffensive and funny, but to refer to the murder of someone in such a way is offensive. Or would you find it just as funny if they ran a timeline for the US and put "911 - Twin towers collapse after being hit by planes, who knew that Muslims were funny enough to bring the house down" Buzz It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
