    I did the DVD for my GF Zoe's tandem and apart from a the usual chit chat we didnt say much. A few days later I recieved an email asking for another copy of the DVD and that was the start of a text/messenger friendship. We met up for the first time about 3 or 4 weeks later and hit it off straight away. We have been together now for 7 months and although we live about 45miles apart see each other 3 or 4 nights a week and talk most nights for at least 30 mins. She is an amazing person, happy to sit on the DZ all weekend whilst i jump and never complains. I guess I have hit the jackpot. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Gotta agree with you there. If I dont like you enough to socialise, then I probably wouldnt jump with you. There are of course exceptions. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    I guess the answer to all your questions is Faith. Thats the foundation of all religious indoctrination. I wonder if in 2k years time people will be having the same discussions about Ron L Hubbard, David Koresh or any of the other numerous religious cults around today. You are not going to convince a christian that they may be wrong any more than you can convince a skydiver getting on the first load after leaving the bar at 6 am is a bad idea. As long as they keep themselves to themselves ill tolerate them. As an aside can anybody tell me the connection between :- Northern Ireland, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Isreal, Lebanon, Pakistan, India, Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Just seen it tonight for the first time. It starts with a bunch of people falling through the sky, reasonably convincingly then they swoop to the ground and take pictures. I wonder where they get there inspiration??? It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Im not to up on the USPA side of things, but in the UK the CCI carries the can. I must admit that at a DZ I was running I would not allow it, not because I doubt the skills of the flyer or TI but more from a concern of the resulting hullabaloo should something go wrong. If it was to happen without my prior approval then there would be serious talking too's going on. Dont get me wrong, I am perfectly happy for skydivers to have fun, but bringing a non skydiver into the picture puts it in a whole new category. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Here here, if a solo jumper was asking me the whys and wherefores of a tracking dive in the A/C I would tell him to do a regular flat flying solo and come have a chat with me on the ground. Th A/C is not the place for any kind of brief. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Mike First off we dont have S&TS's in the UK just CCI who are in turn Adv Inst (sorry for being picky but I are one). Second where were you jumping? My guess is if you are from Warrington its probably Black Knights or Tilstock but I could be mistaken (PM if you dont want to post the details). The CCI's at both centres are top blokes and would be more than happy if you were to point this guy out to them. DZ can be busy places even in the UK on a winter weekend and they may not know what this guy is up too. You really should let someone know, as I have said before in this forum: Safety is not a dirty word. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Thats a tough situation to be in, the important thing is that you are happy with your actions and can accept the consequences should there be any (loss of freindship etc. etc.) When you say you told the cops, were they in the area or did you ring them? What was the outcome? It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    I am not a current wingsuit flyer but I have flown them. I guess I am just to much of a church policeman to think that it is acceptable to fly by a tandem with or without prior agreement. Whilst I dont doubt the skills of the wingsuit flyer or the tandem instructor I personally find it an unnecessary risk. There are wingsuit flyers whom I would be willing to let fly by me under canopy, but definately not when I have a student on the front. OK, I am looking at this from an extreme point of view but if something went wrong and there was an incident do you think the tandem student or their family would say "thats OK we agreed to it" or "Wheres the Lawyer????" I'm guessing the latter. It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

    Mmmmmm I see a pattern here. Methinks it may be more to do with keeping to the same brand of tape as opposed to a specific brand being worse than others. I did forget to add that if you have dirty heads the chances are the tape will be contaminated so once you have cleaned the heads put a fresh tape in.
