Excellent ideas Andrea! My girl is still into Barbies, but now likes the "My Scene" ones. They both are heavily into DVD's, love Walmart 'credit card - gift cards' so they can pick their own stuff and listed a ton of Gameboy games to go with their Gameboy Advance their hoping to upgrade their regular Gameboys too. My daughter also wanted those K'nex, so I got her one with a motor in it so her stuff will move she builds (both are into that now too). They both read a lot so books are good for them as well. Mine are 11 (almost twelve) year-old girl and 8 year-old boy. Pammi

Pretty expensive to make a custom design. I talked to a few people about an idea that I had before, and a cast made of the design is pretty high, then you pay for each item they make in the cast depending on what kind of metal they use. So paying for the casting itself wouldn't be worth the cost unless you were going to order more then one (some places even require a minimum order to bother with the casting). Pammi

Yeah, saw that cake while looking for a digital thermometer for my turkey. (I found a recipe in a cooking magazine for supposedly the best ever turkey by the guy who does the Good Eats show - ALL of his stuff is fantastic - Merrick just thinks I'm crazy for the process it'll take ) For $38, I think I'll skip it. I've more got my eye on the cheesecake pecan pie anyway...that stuff is great! Yum! Oprah is always doing stuff like that...I guess she can afford to. Wish I'd been on that show!! Pammi -

Nope, I'm never sick. Merrick got the shot one year and was sick as a dog later that same year. I nursed him through and still didn't get it. Sobe with echinacea and lots of vitamin c and zinc! Pammi

Ya know, I've wondered the same thing. There is, of course, a TON of open land out in the SW area and I'd think it could be profitable. There's certainly nothing else to do around there! The DZ in Cushing, OK does very well and you should see the size of that town. The only thing is there are only little community colleges out that way rather then a 4-year like there are near Cushing. And the wind. But that's all over KS. Maybe it's the stink keeping em away Pammi

Hey guys, thanks so much. He's come out of surgery and apparently it went very well. He'll be allowed to go home in 3 days. Honestly, it's a small miracle with his health and smoking habits that it went so smoothly. They only caught the aneurysm because he was getting some radiology work done because of a problem with his back, something he'd done to himself at work. This is the second time a miracle of fantastic timing has saved someone I love, my son first and now my dad. Thank you guys so much. Your prayers and vibes have helped, Im sure of it. And just knowing you guys cared helped ME. Pam

Hmm, that doesn't surprise me. My ex was in the Guard and we almost lost our house we were trying to buy because they didn't pay him for his basic and AIT or the bonus they'd promised until it was almost too late ... the people were going to sue us cuz we didn't close. It was only the beginning of the bullshit they didn't follow-up on. Pammi

I just got a phone call an hour ago that my dad's aneurism (abdominal for those that understand it) has worsened and is leaking so they can't wait for surgery. I'm truly scared because they didn't want to do surgery because of the risks with his health already, but he's now on his way by ambulance to a hospital 3 hours away for it (we grew up in a podunk town). I guess this is the consequences of living so far away (as my mom so nicely told me before hanging up on me...ain't that grand) so I'm drinking beer and praying for all I'm worth right now. Even the flights, if I had been able to afford it are a minimum of 600 and wouldn't get me there in time before he has surgery tonight (they go through Vegas on the way to Kansas for Heaven's sake!) so I could use all the prayers you're willing to offer. Merrick and I shower together 9 times outta 10 too. Sometimes there's sex, sometimes not, but it certainly is convenient when you want it and don't have a lot of time! It's pretty funny when someone calls and the kids answer the phone. "No, she can't come to the phone, Mom's in the shower. Dad is too." I totally gotta get one of those showers! Pammi
