It’s really interesting watching you post. Generally speaking over the years I would have put you as a ring wing patriot. I’ve watched as you defend Trump and gradually your loyalty (in posts) has shifted from the USA to Trump. It’s interesting to watch and as someone who grew up under a dictator, it is interesting to see how a person of strong influence can garner such a strong following. I don’t know where the USA will end up as Trump has successfully neutered the main stream media and so I don’t think anyone really knows how many people will vote for or against Trump at the next elections. I don’t support him, but a close friend is a strong advocate of his. My friend is a salesman and very successful at his job. He sees Trump as the master of making a deal. He sees his inflammatory statements as calculated moves not idiotic bumbling. So politicians normally work on consensus and finding middle ground, trump doesn’t and my friend sees this as major strength. I enjoy spirited debate and honestly I have a manager and friend who both admire and support Trump (I disagree with both). It would be great if Speakers Corner could mature up a bit. I’ve just waded through 3 pages of catch up in this thread that reads like a pre school argument of ‘nah nah nah na, I’m the king of the castle yore the dirty rascal’ - from all sides. No I dont think that a certain person is trolling, I think he is deadset in his views and nothing will ever change them, not ever. I don’t see a need for censhorship, but a little behaviour change would go along way in making the debate more fun and less infantile (again on all sides). If we know someone makes wild ass stuff up and never backs it up with facts or corrects themselves, in years on the site is there any real benefit in continually posting ‘still waiting...’ type posts? Based on the posts and discussion that led to this I say keep things as they are. Some people hold very strong opinions on certain topics and take every opportunity to drive that message home. The fact that 95% of other posters think they are nuts doesn't make it trolling. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

This is why the rest of the world thinks we're dicks. He's not God. I couldn't agree more. That precisely captures the essence and arrogance that many people can't stand. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. -
This referred to whom then? Didn't take you to be this intellectually dishonest. you guys aren't so obtuse as to not recognize wry sarcasm - unless it fits your narrative I'm out. waste of time I could see the humour in what you were doing. Don't stop it adds a lighter perspective to the conversation and it's funny seeing how people on both sides are so polarised. It's interesting to watch the dynamics of the job market and it scares me about my children's long term prospects. I'm busy recruiting for a few roles at the moment and can't find highly skilled labour (design engineers), but the lower skilled roles I get swamped with applicants many with Masters degrees in bizarre subjects that they clearly have no hope of getting a job in. I feel terrible for some of the young school leavers who are applying honestly they have no hope of me employing them in such a competitive market. There are significant business drivers to automate wherever possible and as a result I'm constantly looking at how to avoid hiring. What I can say is that youngsters who plan and have good work ethic will likely get very rich and be highly successful as it seems society has created a vacuum in people willing to take ownership. They were laid off due to slowing sales, something that had been going on for centuries, not because they were replaced by robots. Mmm, not sure about centuries especially in the aviation business Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Honestly this event is a disgrace but reflects my experience of internal flights in the USA. I think you guys are exposed to the worst customer service and attitude that I've experienced anywhere in the world - I'd even rate Ryanair higher than any US carrier that I've flown. Overbooking to the extent it happens appears to be uniquely American - I've not seen it anywhere in Europe or Australia. Stop putting shareholder value above customers and change ticket conditions so that flights are not over booked and you're still a viable airline (although US airlines seem to constantly be on the verge of bankruptcy anyway) I fly into major US hubs and then drive whenever possible. People at work think I'm crazy for doing this. But given the choice of a pleasant 5 or 6 hour drive where I can relax, versus being treated like shit and having uncertainty I know my preference. 2 weeks ago I foolishly flew united from LA to San Luis Obispo (which I normally drive) and regretted it the entire time I sat through the 5 hour delay Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

My issue with this is an 'illegal immigrant' by definition has broken the law. I know that people muddle up immigrants, refugees and illegal immigrants all the time. But a true 'illegal' immigrant has committed a crime and so the people quoted are wrong. That said I believe in compassion and if a previous administration turned a blind eye then perhaps amnesties and special exemptions could be applied. I'm not a fan of Trump, but in the interests of balance I thought his address this week was pretty good. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

How do you know god's favour is on him? Does Donald Trump have any history whatsoever of overt religiosity? Has he ever read the bible? Does he even go to church? Do you really think he's one of you? He is the anti Christ! Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

For someone who whined and moaned for years about Obama dividing the country, you now seem to think it's a virtue that Trump actively portrays the entire American press corps, and indeed anyone who disagrees with anything that he does, as his enemies. How's that for cognitive dissonance! Yeah, he made himself look stupid in so many different ways they couldn't possibly report them all. Genius. Well at least Trump will succeed in uniting the nation (they'll all hate him by the time he's done) Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

Miller's declaration of war to the population ... ?
nigel99 replied to christelsabine's topic in Speakers Corner
Don't let'm get your goat. All the foreign posters here, especially Europeans, hate America. Except when they get their tit caught in the wringer, then they love us. That is why we should seal off the borders and make them declare and prove their worth before letting them in. Yes because that's what Jesus would do! Correct, check the gospel accounts of His ministry. He often turned His back on those seeking Him. He had the wisdom of the Father and did not waste His time with the unfaithful. He warned us not to caste pearls before swine. I find it ironic that Jesus was from the Middle East and clearly of a race that you despise/hate and yet you 'follow him'. Miller's declaration of war to the population ... ?
nigel99 replied to christelsabine's topic in Speakers Corner
It is unfortunate that not only do you believe that, but also willingly promote that myopic opinion. Maybe you are the one exception. Most of what I read is disparaging. You on the other hand tend to be more upbeat overall. But most of what you've written for the past 8 years has been disparaging of America. Trump's whole campaign was based on disparaging America? Why is it that you like Trump for agreeing with you, but dislike foreigners for agreeing with you? Shush, you're just a nasty European who hates America Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. -

Key being can't SHIP on PASSENGER aircraft. Look in IATA section 2.3 (page 19 in the 2017 book). Then look at the graph 2.3.A. (you will want to look on p25). So you can't ship on pax aircraft. You can ship on cargo aircraft*. You CAN carry on a plane either over your shoulder or in checked bags. *Depending on the Operator variations. For example FedEx just changed from allowing section II to requiring them to be section I, or IB. I am a certified IATA instructor. Yup that aligns with my knowledge (good to know the DG training was worth while). What I had overlooked was the exemptions for passengers. I pity you, those IATA regulations are mind-numbing! Explain why you believe it's funny that the Trump administration wants to no longer care about White Supremacist groups. Seriously. That is a mentally unstable position (his not yours, I assume you think this is just funny without even thinking about it). 4 legs good, 2 legs bad... One thing this whole mess misses is that often (I don't have actual percentages) it is the children of migrants who become radicalised. Obviously not the 5 year old, but the 16-20 year olds. It seems migrants are happy to have left their country, but the children get exposed to the bigotry and struggle to fit into the new country. As a result they end up being easy prey and so whoever detained the 5 year old may well have pulled the trigger on turning him into a terrorist and when in 15 years time he goes on a rampage, you'll get the story of you see we should have detained him! Well a number of very good engineers come from the Middle East and yes it directly affects some members of my team as a result. Google and Microsoft have similar concerns as it affects them in the same way. Time will tell. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
