  1. To be fair the topic is Trump haters... Deranged and psychotic Trump supporters could be in their own thread.

    The wall

I wonder where Trump will go as the right wing starts to abandon him? Maybe the whole 25th will come into play?
  3. Maybe Marc is right, maybe there was no collusion, just treason Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  4. True. At the time I defended Marc, I genuinely thought he was just an extreme right wing person and while I disagreed with his views I didn’t want an echo chamber where only a single viewpoint reigned. I have since changed my mind, I left kindergarten a long time ago and having that behaviour constantly is annoying Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    The wall

So following the drama in the USA it strikes me the ‘great wall’ is Donald Trumps attempt to immortalise himself in the same way as tinpot dictators make big statues of themselves. It’s got nothing to do with security, it’s about him having an object ‘Trumps wall’ Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    Cohen

I think you've missed my point, which is why are you surprised that Cohen is a dick? (And that Trump can't blame Cohen either.) Haha, ok. I’m not at all surprised, birds of a feather and all that. I guess for me this saga has shown that Trump was a mobster all along, not some ‘businessman’. Cohen

Well, yeah. It’s a criminal conspiracy. Criminals don’t tend to be nice guys. ‘My lawyer said it was ok’ isn’t an excuse recognised by the law. Besides, Trump knows exactly what he employed a guy like Cohen for, and it wasn’t his brilliant ethical mind. Hey Jakee I think you’ve missed my point maybe? A lawyer can’t blame his client. If I tell you to rob a bank and you do it, whose to blame? As another example Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.

    Cohen

I’ve been thinking about this. As much as I despice Trump I think it is disgusting that Cohen appears to be passing the buck and saying ‘Trump directed him to break the law’. Firstly he’s a lawyer and it would have been his job to advise Trump of what was legal or not. If Trump said I don’t care do it, he could have walked away and ended the relationship. As a side note, I wonder if Trump regrets becoming president. He could have stayed as a pseudo mob criminal and lived a happy life without all this pesky scrutiny Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  9. Bottom line in business, caveat emptor. The point I am stating is that no one has stopped him. There is no one on this forum that could stand up to the assaults that he has withstood. You never cease to amaze me with your complete and utter lack of a moral compass. It goes to reinforce my views that many if not most religious people are unable to accept responsibility for their own actions. It is amazing that as a ‘Christian’ you support not paying your debts to those you owe in the way that Trump has repeatedly done. 10. Exactly. We have a leadership problem. Interesting to see. Americans in general are so buried into ‘my party is right’ that your comment and observation is ignored for the most part. I agree true leadership is missing Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  11. No I haven’t Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  12. Well there you go. You don't want to see a liberal political agenda, right? So Google doesn't show you one. As a complete tangent... Googles location based algorithms really annoy me! I get that they want to show relevant information that is geographically close. But if I’m searching for a supplier of goods in a particular distant location it screws the results. You used to be able to trick it somewhat by choosing the appropriate domain (.co.uk for UK results, .com for USA) but that doesn’t seem to work so well anymore. 14. Not if you got nothing to hide! Makes perfect sense. So you're absolutely do not believe that the Mueller investigation is trying to catch members of Trump's inner circle in perjury traps? Definitely not! They are only trying to catch Trump, his inner circle are irrelevant they only fetch coffee. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  15. But I do not blame you for trying. As for the FBI I trust the rank and file. Thie4 voices will be heard at some date. Marc I honestly don’t get it. You realise that the article and even the extract you posted go against your viewpoint and don’t back it up? Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  16. I don’t like using them, as I feel they take away jobs. Mostly the checkout staff locally are school leavers who struggle to find other employment and I like to see them kept engaged. I read an article a little while ago where some stores were starting to move away from self service due to much higher theft. People scanning cheaper goods, not scanning etc. The comments on the article were telling, a number of people felt justified in ‘paying’ themselves for doing the checkout with a free bag of carrots or similar low value item. 17. I totally agree that a college degree tends to make you more rounded and politically savvy. Key point being that this is a generalization. One thing that I will say is that from my limited interaction with Trump supporters is that they do tend to have very narrow minded viewpoints. I’ve mentioned my previous manager a few times, I’ll not forget him telling me that women could not get fair in their jobs because they needed to focus on being wives and mothers. Another example was him telling two of us (who are both British) all about how he was doing a presentation on fracking at his church men’s group the next morning- it was then that we decided to stick to drinking and talking about cars and motorbikes, leaving dangerous subjects alone Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  18. Hey Leeroy, I think that post is in very poor taste and to me comes across as condescending and quite possibly a personal attack. I’ve got friends who range from lawyers and surgeons through to escorts and postmen, you get arseholes and nice people in all professions. A college degree doesn’t make you politically savvy. As far as trump goes my previous manager has a masters in engineering, lives in California and is a strong trump supporter. He is not a stupid man at all, but he does have a very narrow view of the world. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  19. Bill has refused to remove someone who has admitted that he only posts to draw responses - the dictionary definition of a troll. This is what happens. To be fair, Bill created a poll/post to get opinions on the matter. At the time I voted that keeping diversity was worth the price of a little trolling. I’m genuinely interested in the views of Trump supporters and without them the value of this thread would be diminished. That said deliberately being obtuse, people responding to and trying to get rational answers from someone who clearly has no interest simply create noise. Personally I think we are due a couple of timeouts if people aren’t going to self police. Yes a good few of the posts make you want to bang your head against the wall as it would be less painful, but if people can resist taking the bait, we can hope that behaviour dies down. I’m interested enough in American politics to follow the odd mainstream news report that hits international media, and to follow on Speakers Corner. I’m not passionate about it though and considering Trump is almost universally seen as an incompetent fool outside of the USA, I actually really enjoy hearing views of people who support him, which is what some of speakers corner provides Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  20. This thread has got ridiculous now. The signal to noise ratio is about -12dB. It’s an interesting topic and I want to follow it, what I’m tired of is preschoolers exchanging insults. I don’t want censorship, but some meaningful debate would be good. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  21. Those who complain about Russian meddling are traitors because the other side refuses to believe it? That makes sense. another nice try. The point is the accusation of Russian meddling is meant to infer that the only reason Donald J Trump is President is because of said collusion and meddling. Not the case never has been and it's not going to change to show that it was. Try again You so often jump to conclusions that nobody else is making. Very few if any people say that the Russians swung the election causing Trump to win. That is laughable as it would be impossible to prove. The point is that Trump (or at least members of his team) appear to have used the Russians to help his campaign. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  22. Hey Jerry, I made a mistake trying to engage in intelligent conversation. It does interest me though to see how a persuasive and influential someone like Trump can be. I was fascinated by Tony Blair when I lived in the UK, he was the master of equivocation. You could listen to him talk and he would be agreeing with both sides of an argument and each side believed he was agreeing with them. With Trump he appears to have out foxed the entire political elite and media to garner a very strong following. I have no idea how Trump will do at election time and it will be very interesting to watch. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  23. I suggest you re read my post. I said I grew up under a dictator (Robert Mugabe), not that trump is one. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
  24. I think the way you frame this issue is part of a bigger problem. First of all, morals has absolutely nothing to do with it. Secondly, after elementary school "Johnny did it too" really shouldn't be part of a conversation anymore. Lastly, just because you have done it to another country doesn't mean you would sit idly by while another country does it to you. Investigating what happened and shoring up defence would be a normal course of action. The US has assassinated plenty of foreign politicians in their history, does that mean they shouldn't try and prevent foreign governments from assassinating US politicians? I totally agree that investigation and defence are perfectly acceptable courses of action. With regards to your question, absolutely the US should prevent foreign governments from attempting to assassinate any of its politicians, likewise the US should not be attempting to do assassinate other politicians. 25. All I see from you, is someone who believes all the info you get from Democrat supporting, big government beholding news sites. The term sheepole fits you well I believe the USA has double standards, over the years I’ve watched as they have meddled in other countries politics, both overtly and covertly. So personally I don’t believe they have he moral high ground to complain about Russia meddling in their elections. Regardless of that my original comment was aimed at your posting history. Historically I believed you were a right wing patriot, someone who while I didn’t share their views I respected their passion. You now come across as a Trump fanboy, who worships at Trumps alter. From your posts I honestly don’t believe there is anything that Trump could do to change your beliefs. As an outsider it is extremely interesting to observe how someone like Trump can get such a strong following. Experienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived.
