I wasn’t taking it down a different direction to avoid it. I quoted a verse, and missed a word that changed its meaning. You got butt hurt as a result because well your religion. I’m that same post I had said I believed in Euthenising people who don’t/can’t work. I don’t do it often at all but that particular post I am sure would fall into ‘trolling’ territory. I don’t post on here to troll, but I do enjoy the controversial topics. I actually enjoy spirited debate and over the years some of my views have evolved. Some of my views roughly 10 years ago I would regularly butt heads with Jakee and Kallend, but I’ve since changed. And as to thread drift, it was a shitty title. It should have said religious Mumbo Jumbo that makes people feel good, but is a load of crap :)

Let’s look at the facts, Trumps opponent is likely to be Creepy Joe who is known to have a problem with smelling women’s hair. So Paul is clearly warning American women to cover their hair or shave it, because if they don’t then there will be horrible stories about Creepy Joe. Sneaky Bastard that Paul, bloody towel head interfering with US elections from way back then!

Honestly just having a bit of fun. When I was about 15 or 16 I had long hair. The pastor and his wife sat down with me and proceeded to lecture me from that passage that a man should not have long hair (it’s an adjacent verse), while she sat there with hair down to her waist and uncovered. They didn’t take kindly to me pointing that out, you know context and all that... In hindsight I should have asked them to pray for god to cut my hair for me

Ok so here’s one for you, verbatim and from the New Testament, so post the Jesus changed all the rules. 1 Corinthians 11:6 For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. Does that apply and if not why?

Exactly it’s to usually to assuage their guilt for doing nothing, it is a selfish act intended for themselves, in exactly the same way as the ‘sending good vibes’ crowd do. For all my parents faults (they are religious nuts) they opened our home to many destitute people over the years and tried to provide the opportunity for them to find their feet in life. Sadly the number of druggies that were released from prison and stayed with us a few weeks before robbing us and moving on was about a 100% success rate

In reality I feel sorry for those people who get dealt a shit hand in life. That said it doesn’t mean I ‘do’ anything for people outside my extended family. I was really impressed with a story I saw a week or two ago about a Soccer player in the UK who earns over $10Million a year and distributes it to many people in Senegal where he comes from, he’s got a shitty old phone and keeps enough for himself to live. As I get older and grumpier it really pisses me off when people think that an appropriate response to someone reaching out for help is to ‘pray for them’ The latest incident was someone I know posting on Facebook about some friends of theirs in South Africa who are now homeless and struggling to get food etc (no welfare system as a safety net). Send $5 fine, but posting ‘I’ll be praying for them’ is frankly a cop out to make you feel good about yourself and absolve your guilt.

I am fascinated by the technology behind a horoscope app. My partner is into horoscopes and convinced me to download a free app. I didn’t see anywhere in the free app where I gave permission for it to access my messages and social media, but it has to be doing it. I believe it is accessing messages and then a AI algorithm is running because the horoscopes are VERY accurate and not vague at all. We have been discussing a move interstate for 3 days and it pops up with ‘... a serious conversation with your partner about moving across the country’. What is quite scary is that because we are linked and you can see each other’s reading that there is behaviour I have suspected from my partner (things aren’t always smooth) and her horoscope as picked the same marker. It is a scary reminder of how much we disclose to get things for free

My first boss told the story of his first gun battle. Rhodesia and during the war it was compulsory call up. So he would have been late teens at the time. They were ambushed and he ran and hid behind a tree about an inch in diameter, and that was with training and being armed. On a similar note though and somewhat funny, our family dog was a Doberman that used to travel with my dad. On a few occasions he was ambushed and Lisa (dog) would jump out and attack the terrorists. Many simply dropped their guns and ran out of fear, although she did eventually get shot in the leg.

That is what you get with gutter politics. At risk of mimicking the people who say ‘Obama did it first...’ this is exactly how Trump operates, it is all about theatrics and not about content. So something that should have been about the State of the Nation and Trump turned into a MAGA rally, Pelosi upended and all that anyone is talking about is her. Well done to her, she has engaged Trump at his own game and ‘owned’ him. For you Americans welcome to the new normal and the slide from being a respected voice in the modern world.

Actually you are wrong. Trump snubbed her with the handshake and THEN she did her intro. Honestly Nancy beat Trump at his own game, the whole news cycle had been dominated by her tearing up two pieces of paper. Any lies and exaggerations Trump made have been drowned out. I think we are witnessing the descent of the USA into a banana republic.

I’ve lost track of this particles point, but I kind of thought it started off with Jakee giving Turtle a backhanded compliment (better than being on your bad side or words to that effect) Which when you read Turtles reply at the time, it was like he said being Q would get you on his good side... Seems like a lot of bytes have been used to convey nothing :)
