Crappy camera my ass... THIS is a pic taken with a crappy camera!

>i'm just wonderin howmany times he took that piture to >get the desired efect of the exposure............ Not too many if he just photoshopped it.

Wow. Those are pretty bad scores.

Like I said, there were three guys sharing the cost... so it was about 8-9€ / share. The point was that if something happened to the camera we wouldn't have to cry our eyes out about it.A Euro is about a dollar? Pretty much, yeah. Erno

>we just passed the wee disposable camera around taking >snaps of each other goofing. I did something pretty similar. Me and a couple of my buddies bought a 25€ camera to use in freefall. It was mostly used while bolted to a helmet, sometimes we just kept it in our hands. Then one faithful day I was supposed to take an exit shot of a friend diving after me, but I went unstable, did this "windmill"-move with my left(camera) arm, the strap slipped from my wrist, and whoosh there goes the camera. Damn. It was never found. And it had a full roll of great shots to be developed too.

Hehe! That's great.... -
That's a great idea! Those posts bug the hell out of me too. And no, I don't think it would be too difficult to write a bit of code that counts the opening-tags and the closing-tags and compares the amounts... Erno

Just testing the spellchecker... Ok. I've never understood the words the spellchecker highlights in red are actually links.... I remember seeing someone on the "Who's online"-list while he was "Adding a custom dictionary word", but couldn't find out how to do that! Glad I got it figured out now!

Hey, there's a bunch of us online during the workday(europe/africa timezone), we're chatting almost everyday at the chatroom on my DZs site...the links in the sig, Welcome!

(blah blah blah, the rest is the same as with the others who got the "peace"-answer) Hmmm. It must be so then I guess...

Whats the highest # of users seen online at once?

I'm not sure those are real people. They could be some sorta webcrawlers for search engines or something. Remember the forums are now open for the search engines to index. Or it could be that the number of lurkers here grows exponentially. I bet Sangiro could easily set the record straight by checking the IP's of the lurkers; if there are a few dozen coming from the same IP, they're probably bots. Not that I know anything about such things, just guessing here... -
WinNT4, Opera 6.05 I couldn't change my profile pic, and couldn't remove it! I tried several times, but the changes just wouldn't get saved. Changing the sig worked fine, as did changing the other settings. The only thing that wouldn't work was turning off/changing the pic. Tried with IE, worked the first time.

Both names are used. Here in Finland we still call it JAD, but in the States it's called IAD. Maybe(assumption alert!) in the States(and other places?) they changed the name to IAD since they no longer train new jumpmasters(but instead Coaches who can continue training to become Instructors)? Hmm. Anyone care to shed some light on this naming issue? Erno

why doesnt everyone use an AAD?

>Also, there's only one person at our dz who can pack reserves >, and he can't pack CyPReS's or Astra's, so it's a pain for >anybody who has one to get a repack. Can't as in "isn't allowed to" or "isn't able to"? Since it's really no more complex to pack a reserve with a cypres, I'm assuming it's the regulations there that are the problem? - Hahaa! I will lay the seeds for an all out flamewar with the next sentence, but I feel like have to do it anyway: What's that? You're going to get a Cypres only when you start doing jumps that you're not comfortable doing without one? Don't you think you should reconsider doing such jumps altogether? Erno -
Which muppet(s) would you most like to skydive with ? .......

Sam the American Eagle. I'd redo the falcon scene from "Willing to fly" with him. -
Patrick Passee DVD Croswind webpage

> he probably doesnt have a webpage. Try minitel... Concerning the question, I was under the impression that Crosswind DVD was planned, and would come out "sometime in the future". This was just something I thought I read somewhere, so it doesn't really even classify as a rumour... -
Did you read the "listing guidelines"?

I'm going to order a copy Crosswind and/or Antigravity. What online shop would you recommend(a quick search on Amazon wouldn't find either...)? Preferrably one that would be cheap, would deliver fast and would deliver to Finland...
-
Without commenting on how sensible doing that would be: Just to remind that in many countries this is forbidden in the aviation regulations. Looks like the authorities have nothing against it in Singapore. I know I'd be in serious trouble if I did it here in Finland, and I'd assume it wouldn't be a good idea in the States either.

Trying to say 'soft links' there I assume?

So why would you wear an RSL in the first place?

Does "positive tension device" here refer to any mechanical aid in closing the container(such as a crank) or just the gadget that was posted a couple of days back? Are there many different aids for closing the container? I've only used a crank myself. I've also seen a strap that goes around your neck and shoulder, which helps you to use your whole body for pulling on the pull-up cord. Are there others?

I've had a few openings that started to turn, some of them pretty fast. Steering from the opposite rear riser has been sufficient to stop the turn in most cases, including one or two popped toggles. The one time I had to cut away there was nothing to think about; The spin was very fast and violent, and I had a riser pressing on my cheek and my eye. I just thought: "Oh, so now it happened", and calmly executed my emergency procedures. You'll know when it's time to chop... Oh yeah, when I chopped I was jumping a wingloading of ~1.3, on a TurboZX 145.
