>Have you ever seen currency from almost any country in Europe? The Euros?

Are there really people out there who can't make the distinction between reality and fiction? If I was fabricating a tale like that, I would've said I was #4 or maybe #5, but there's no way anyone could get to be #6 in three years. Except in the movies. Silly whuffos....

>But Lisa, I've always wanted to know where "mouth" came from. Yeah, me too... And while I didn't understand what this poll was about, I still proceeded to answer with multiple choices!

England has the worst crime rate in the world!
ernokaikkonen replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
Oh, I live in the crime-capital of the world! Gee, I'm glad you told me, since otherwise I would've never known.... (the rest of the post goes assuming that the report is genuine and the reporter didn't hold the chart upside-down...) That makes interesting reading, but it raises more questions than it answers. Having lived in Finland all my life, I just don't see my homeland in that report. I've rarely been afraid to walk through Helsinki in the middle of the night on weekends. We don't have "areas to avoid" if you want to stay healthy and breathing, anywhere in Finland. The only reason I can think of that could've contributed to the result is the way crimes are reported in different countries. And not just the way the authorities report to the UN(as mentioned in the article), but the way people report to the police. Here, no matter how small a crime, a report is filed most of the time. If the police are involved, in many crimes you don't have a choice: charges will be pressed even if you don't want to. If someone gets beaten up in a slum in Johannesburg, do you think it's going to make it in many statistics? The largest newspaper in Finland didn't have anything about this on it's website. Maybe they're suppressing the information to avoid widespread panic? Erno PS: The New Zealanders seem to feel the same way I do... -
No official word, but there are a few jumpers from my DZ there, and they posted(on my DZs forum) yesterday that they had built a 56-way that was held for 30 seconds. It's not a world record though, since they have no FAI-judges and the participants don't all have FAI-licenses. An attempt for a 64-way was foiled by clouds.

BWahahaa!! I just go to "work" and hadn't put on my headphones yet... luckily! The phones just suddenly screamed on the table just as I was leaning towards the screen to properly stare at the spinning thingy.

Luke is a loser.

What canopies would those be?

Anyone have any samples? I'm feeling adventurous...

>Robert, I'm sure you know of Alla Pugacheva, care to >comment for Clay? I am familiar with the artist in question. It's... not very enjoyable listening. And I'm not a big fan of arab-music either. I haven't had the pleasure to listen to any korean music. Erno

These questions _are_ constantly asked at G&R, so it could be useful. The problem is that two basically similar canopies can have a radically different packing volume.

Hey, the NA-thread lives on... we just don't post the oneliners here anymore. Come check out my(my homeDZs) site, the links in the signature.

[nelson]haa haa![/nelson] Only amateurs drink before a movie.... Not to worry; I don't think it'll be too long until the clip is @ skydivingmovies dot com... edit: damn, too slow... I guess I'll go see it now. re-edit: then again, I guess not; damn .mov format...

I'm not going to post useless no-content posts just to keep my number up. Wait a minute, I just did... To answer to Sonic: the top PW-list AggieDave posted this week: freeflir29 AggieDave PhreeZone skybytch jtval billvon Viking lummy SkydiveMonkey skymedic Some of the poster's average posts may be shorter than the average average() post, but not even nearly everyone's... I'm thinking Billvon at least tends to have really long posts(or do they just seem like it?)
-
I'm going to have to post something just for the sake of posting, we can't have Quatorze catch up on me now can't we? Sangiro, if you're reading this, another statistic I'd like to see(but not enough to bug you with a PM) is the top 10 postwhore's average length of post... Erno
-
That was hilarious! And the jumping wasn't bad at all either...
-
Wow. How high up is the exit-point?
-
Someone had bought it and basically told here that it's not worth the money. It was this week, here or at General skydiving discussions, can't remember. edit: Here

Moz is a good choice too. I use a browser a lot at work(for working, really!), so I appreciate the little things that are pretty near perfect in Opera. 30 Days to becoming an Opera Lover is a detailed tour about the excellent user interface stuff Opera has. -
>I thought it was you, but now that I'm looking at the screen >I guess we've abused that to the point of it being taken away too. Sangiro, if that's the case, the abuse has happened mostly at Talkback, right? How about allowing attachments at, for example G&R? Seeing a picture of the gear in discussion has been an invaluable aid many times.

Tempos pack smaller than most(or so I heard), so fitting a Techno140 may or may not be possible. I'd wait for feedback from someone who actually has a setup like that. (edit to add:) The point I tried to make: the fact that you can fit a Tempo150 to a certain container doesn't mean you can fit a Techno 140 to the same container.

I don't have the manuals handy, but: Get Vol2. The newest parachutes in that one are Sabres and Stilettoes, IIRC. The newest parachutes in Vol 1 are old. The general parts about repairs and parachute construction would also be closer to the present in Vol 2.
