On my(small) DZ, if a new jumper has the same name as one of the "older" jumpers, it seems we just add "little" in the name. Thus, we so far have "Little-Jukka", "Little-Mari" and "Little-Jouni". I have no idea what will happen when a third person with the same name comes along...

Of course. People slow down on accident sites too...

I don't have a computer at home with which I could replicate the error, but I peeked inside the file again, and the weird xml-stuff was gone, so I assume it'll work fine now.

If you open a forum on the internet... yes, it becomes a public forum. Do you lose all the rights to your creation? Of course not. The person who opens the site has the right to do anything he sees fit with the site. He also has the responsibility to make sure that the site is not used for anything illegal or immoral(the spreading of child pornography comes to mind). The point I'm trying to get to: Maintaining a site can't come only with responsibilities. It must also come with rights. And nobody forces anyone to frequent any forums....

Dude! What kind of a sick stalker would do something like that?? The Photojob does put Aggiedave to shame though...

England has the worst crime rate in the world!
ernokaikkonen replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
How can Crazy Thomas pass this up? I mean, we have a judgemental, assumptive, stupid argument going on here, Damn! And here I assumed Tom's post was spiced up with a healthy dose of sarcasm... -
>Well in that case ... >00110101110010111110101001100110101 > ? I don't get it.

You think that doesn't happen? Not saying anything about Washington post since I know nothing about it, but yes, the owners of newspapers can and do control the content of the paper. Yes, but it's not getting you anywhere...

I think he was referring to volume 3 of The Parachute Manual(by Dan Poynter)... Which I would like to see as well. Written by you, Michelle, volume 3 would be much more enjoyable reading than the first two(which are rather boring but packed with good info), but would also have twice as many pages...

Information like -operating system/version and -browser/version are very helpful when trying to find out what's wrong in cases like this.

I could do it (don't have photoshop but I'd imagine GIMP would do the trick), but uploading the re-saved images would take ages over my GPRS-connection. Re-saving with GIMP got rid of the xml-header that was embedded in the file, but the file got 20kb larger...go figure. I think it's best Tom makes new files out of the originals. I'll send him a PM.

>I'd first remove the copyright protection JS. I did, no effect >I'd download the image to see if serving it locally changed anything. Same thing >I'd resave the image in photoshop. Didn't do that, I'm pretty sure it'll help... But I can't re-upload Tom's pics for him. >I'd eliminate the HTML entirely to see if the image can be >loaded independently. I did, I tried opening the image only locally, didn't work on my work-computer with IE5.5, worked fine here at home with IE5.0 Erno

There shouldn't be a difference... but: I opened one of Tom's pics with a hex-editor, and the file had an xml header a mile long before the actual image data. It had been done with a Mac, with Photoshop. Obviously IE doesn't care much for the header.

They're supposed to give you a box? I just had to take what I could carry in my hands and leave the rest behind...
-
Ok I looked into it, the problem is not with the page, it's the images themselves. IE can't open the image files. Tom, I think you're a Mac-user, right? Did you do something special with the pics?

[nelson]haa haa![/nelson] I read all the responses and didn't open it!

I'm getting the same problem with WinNT4.0 and Explorer 5.5. Solution: Get a better browser You also might want to submit this to "Bugs and error reports" so Sangiro can fix it.

Beats me. Although L&B do have outstanding customer service, their website is hardly ever updated... That's something they should improve on. And while we're at it, here's another thread about L&B and Protrack...

ProTrack manual Finnish translation

Since this came up in General Discussions; The finnish translation of the ProTrack manual. Looks like the original attachment has gone to cyber-heaven, so here it is again. And downloadable from here too. protrack.pdf -
Did you see "Bad Taste" by Peter Jackson?

England has the worst crime rate in the world!
ernokaikkonen replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
I can't find any mention of the report on any Finnish media, not on the UN-website... Just on the NZ-site I linked to and the Telegraph website. WTF? Is the whole report complete BS? Is there a report? Where's my tinfoil hat?
