Dude, I got some hilarious pictures of your swoop when I was up last week. I'm at Byron screening some pictures of Alana's 300th or something and I popped past this yellow and orange suited guy who's dragging his feet down the freeway and Kurt, DeBar, and Evan simultaneously say "JP!" Hey, chickie-mama, that Stinky Jim is allright Darlene just got a new suit, she took it out yesterday for the first time. It's the really light fabric, and it vibrates or whatever so fast and hard while she's head-down that it gave her a rash on both her arms, and she said it really hurt. Maybe think about multiple layers or maybe the heavier fabric. Go with the BAS colors so you can inherit rigs and stuff I like my Bomber Freefly suit, but I really like Keith Myer's Firefly too. And Gravity Gear does great custom designs. OOOh. Flames and stuff! Neato.

Peter, Clay's been doing it a Byron for a while now. You should give him a call. "Digital is forever" is a pretty hot seller. MOre and more folks don't have a VCR in the house. We get it out in the same amount of time it takes to dub a video. The camera fliers don't dub, we just give the tape to the dubber and go up with the next tandem or AFF. I'm pretty sure the DVD is closed out. Cheaper than DVD-RW.

There is no pool at Davis. If you run through the sprinklers wearing a speedo, I will shoot you. There is a gun range right across the street, getting an alibi will not be a problem. Speedos for anything other than competitive swimming are a capital offense. Except in Rio and the Ukraine. Marble bags. Oh, yeah, just kidding

Well, the way I check it, and this works super with digital, is to place the ringsite on a target and take a picture with both the SLR and the PC120. I use the top of a tree, or something else that will show a definite point at the center of frame. Check the results and go. Yeah, I leave the weaver base on the D-box, and take the site off when I'm not sighting. Yeah, you have to fine tune it when you put it back on. I don't check center with the laser site, I check it with a photo, or video still. If I get all out of whack (hasn't happened yet) It takes about 5 uninterrupted minutes to get everything back in parallel.

Well, if you're gonna plagiarize, go big! Mark Twain said that. Yes, they sell more sweatshirts to tourists in SF in August than any other time. I picked up Clay yesterday at SFO and it was 60 degrees. 40 miles inland it's 80 (about the same temps at Byron and Davis) Unless the fog's all the way down to the deck, it's not humid. At the coast you'll want a jacket and pants handy, and a hat, but inland 20 miles or so, it's hot. Bathing suit hot. The best weather on the coast is in September. It's overcast just about every morning to about mid-morning all summer.

A friend has attached a cheapo laser pointer to his helmet, aligned with the camera. When he wants to align his ring sight he just turns the pointer on, aimed at a wall about 20ft away, and centers his sight on the dot. I've even seen him do it in the plane after someone knocked his helmet while sitting down. Well that's what I do. Laser pointers are not precisely adjustable for windage and elevation. I have a airgun laser site on a scope base. I turn on the video camera, and turn on the site. looking through the camera at a point at least 25 feet away, I adjust the site for windage and elevation until it's at the middle point of my viewfinder. Then I look through my SLR and point it at the laser dot and torque it down. Double check for zero on both cameras, put on the helmet, and adjust the ringsight. Put some lock tite on the threads and tighten it down.

We survived. 3 jumps. Duct tape route. Clay is bad-ass on his head. He's especially bad-ass for his jump numbers. Windy as hell. Sucked it very low to get a 300th jump rodeo opening. Some great stills will be up tomorrow. Didn't refracture the meliodrama, but sore today. Totally worth it.

I eat the protein bars, By Premiere 1. 31 grams a piece. They tast OK (You can get used to anything, a friend thinks they taste like chocolate covered vitamins) I try to keep my body fat about 8-10% ( I use a Tanita Body Monitor scale). Anearobic exercise to keep the muscle mass, aerobic exercise and diet to keep the fat down. Carbs just make me gain fat. It changes as you get older, I'm 39. I save my carbs for beer. I don't even want to thing what that new low-carb beer must taste like. (Sounds about as attractive as "Moisture-Free Sex")

I know there's a few female camera fliers at Davis and Lodi. I don't know of any who post. Being as I live in the House of Estrogen, I think I can get an exemption and video the load.
