  1. Yeah baby! (My, that was weak....) Must stoke the thread....
  2. One word: Beano. Gosh it musta hurt letting that one rip. Geez, what did you eat? Cool.
  3. Dude. Ack. See, the upside of getting older is that I'm way too crafty and devious at this point to have to wait in any line. I've got a Saeco Magic Deluxe. I'll be sipping espresso with the ballerina while you guys do the Davis version of Springer waiting in line
  4. You know, you really should just get.....Uh. Oh. Tape every single crack with gaffer's tape? Use a chin cup so you're helmet doesn't vibrate?
  5. Save your energy. You got a 200-pound kite to fly as soon as you get there.
  6. I have an old Tundra for my cameras, but I keep EVERYTHING else in this beast.(Pelican 1660) Everybody dogs me about it at first, but then everybody wants one. Holds two rigs, helmet, three suits, and stuff with room to spare. Rolls real well.
  7. Phree, when his site is back up, Madstyle.net, Evan Mortimore is having success with a Sony 5+ megapixel camera. Another shooter at my DZ is using a Dimage. There are other options than the 10D that produce acceptable results. I have both film and the 10D. My video concession is not set up yet for digital stills. Of the four of us flying video last Sunday, only me and the owner could afford to convert. We're both 40ish. Harlan and Tom are barely into their 20's and need a second rig much more than they need a rig-expensive camera. It's a tough situation. Plus it's kinda not as fun always looking for a way to earn back the cost of your equipment. It's great stuff, though, and if you can get family to help, go for it. It'll make you a quantum leap better as a aerial photographer. JP
  8. I loved that airport! Downhill runway into a hill! I was a lunatic teenage pilot in those days. I'm sorry to say, no. It's houses now, but not under my house. Most of those folks relocated to Byron, and some originals from that era that are still very active are Marty Martinez, Mad-John Dobleman, and Randy. I have a great vintage videotape of "round" static line training that Mad John taught. That spirit definitely lives on at Byron. Cheers.
  9. Gosh, another opportunity to post whore.... This is a pic of the 37(?) way at first point. Fellow DZ.commer Skybaby is holding my left hand. It got much scarier just a few seconds later.
  10. Just more proof that fat doesn't make you fat. Hey. Look what I found in my camera when I was doing the screen grabs of my cutaway..... Damn low-res camera See you soon, chickie-mama!
  11. Noted. Since this is becoming a part of the palm pilot preference package for the R&R Ballerina, in a Vente, how many sweeteners of which type?
  12. Schroeder I hear you're looking to leave us. YOU: Oh, really? I gotta tell you boss, I just love working here, the people are smart, the work is interesting, the work environment is pleasant, and honestly, the managment staff is the best I've experienced! Boss: Well why are you leaving? YOU:I don't want to leave. I want more than anything to be a part of THIS team, but I won't be so long as I'm a contract employee. Boss: Well, what if you WERE a member of this team? YOU: OH! I'd stay here forever! Wow. Gosh, that would be great. I've wanted to be "on the team" since the first day I got contracted to work here. Everybody just raves about the pay and benefits. What are the wage and benefit programs that accompany the position? Boss: What would you need? YOU: 70K a year, 401K match, Medical, dental, optical, orhodontic, life. When do I start? Gosh. Thanks.
  13. Breve is something the guys from the hood do real hard after running What the heck is a breve?
  14. I take it Mr. Saviour Faire is confirmed? Yeah, big way, I'm in.
  15. That brings a flashback. In the 70's my oldest sister took me to this new really cool place that only had coffee, not really any food. The first Starbucks. Hah. Pikes Place Market. I recall having tea with honey. I have a manufacturer with a plant in Ashland, Oregon. That is one very beautiful little town. I don't know if the Shakespeare thing is going, but it's a beautiful, walkable little town, with a stunning park.
  16. Frankly, Yes, Q-dog. You been moonlighting over at The Nashville Network or sumpin?
  17. Thanks, Mama, we're looking forward to meeting you!
  18. Thank you darlin' I shall look forward to it with great anticipation... That's that "Supine Opera" coffee, right?
  19. Dude, you are the man. I'm all on-balance and you're ordering do-it-yourself curtain kits off of E-Bay. Bwoing! Yellow pages, under sewing supplies. They gotta have something in the Mans Dress Shop over on Polk. Bwah!
  20. I haven't gotten any response to a request for a DZ.Ghetto reservation, I'll try again. Matt, I hear you'll be up Thursday afternoon. Roy, what day will you be up? I've got a 3 room palace too. With a screenroom. We can put your Easy-up shade between them so that MY PACKER will have a place to work. His name's Jason, and he's never packed me anything that didn't open soft and on-heading. He packs for all the Camera fliers at Byron. Bring everything. Camping ain't backpacking. Espresso anyone? (Yeah, Bets, you're first) Who's got a generator?
  21. Yikes. Virginia. Hot. Humid. Red. Green. Woodland. Rain-X makes some disposable lens wipes, or glass cleaning that have the anti-fog stuff on them. Probably available at Auto Parts stores. I think I got mine at Wal Mart. They are improving my goggles from fogging up, and I use them on my lenses, but humidity in this part of California is high if it gets much over 30%. Have you tried a Camera Condom?
  22. Pfah! Too late! I got six more jumps the next day, two on the "Hippie Rig" (Bytch named it that because of the tie die). The video concession owner packed it back up so I could hustle video on Sunday. You're the one who's grounded, or should I say "sanded" I bet you've got ground poisoning so bad you'd volunteer for a spinning mal just to get 60 seconds of air time! Thanks NoShit, can you confirm if you're going to the American Boogie? Cheers.
  23. Two handed pulls would have been better. I have a little trouble with that because of my build. My left arm is at full extension to my right handle, same on the other side. I'll practice that in the hanging harness when I get a chance, and see if it will work for me. The handles were right where I expected them to be, right where I practiced grabbing them, so even under G's they hadn't shifted much. I think that is probably a benefit of having custom fitted kit. Hey, this is Talkback, so what the heck. It's like sex. Until you've done it, you really don't know. The cutaway thing done for real.
  24. And from his description of his chop and unstable reserve deployment I'd bet he had more important things on his mind at the time. I didn't have my stills camera on. It's just a little too much gear for those big-way door-jams. Me and another RW-freeflier were the only ones wearing cameras inside. Yes, they are screen grabs. Yes, Quade. Message received. The ankle is not a factor in the skydiving. It no longer hurts, I got X-rayed last week, it's all stable and knitting, I've done the broken bone thing lots of times, this is pretty minor. Thanks, though. I would never endanger OTHER skydivers, let alone myself, bY jumping disabled. Hanging harness training. They've got one at Davis, I'm gonna hit up JP for a ride in theirs. I was under the reserve at 1200 feet. I must have started chopping at my decision hard deck of 2000. JP (Ya down with OJP?, YEAH YOU KNOW ME!)
