Skydive Arizona Dropzone.com 2nd Annual Holiday Boogie

I gotta laugh. Here's me and Betsy looking at my kids pictures. What party animals! Bwah. What good people. http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gallery/imageFolio.cgi?action=view&link=Dropzone_Gatherings/2002_Eloy_Christmas_Boogie/LouDiamond&image=DCP_0389.jpg&img=32&tt= -
That's correct. With the lens set to manual it will not attempt to autofocus and the shutter will trip immediately if you have it set to shutter priority. I'm having some success with autofocus, though. Here's a couple I shot this afternoon with fill flash at 500th on autofocus.

No Lou, she means this Picture Fooled you! Of course I didn't put that picture out! Tank tops...let me see. Not so much, but it was sunny and warm in the afternoon. -

Nah, Luis. The most epic zoo I have EVER been on was the next day when we attempted a 12 way linked hybrid exit, or something. The video was really funny until I realized what a near-death thing it was -

The DZ.Holiday Boogie '02 video catalogues even YOU remarking on how cold it was. And Mujie, that tongue strobe was and is the coolest! Mocha, is gets very, very cold out there at night, warm layers are a must. Hey, Mouth, here's a couple pictures from last year! (Yikes! Old school pictures scanned from FILM!) -
Get to the doctor early. Forgetting stuff like that may be symptomatic. Maybe not, though. See, after 40 the doctor wants to put his finger up your ass every time you come in.

Wow, they're popping out those D's. There's been 240 numbers in between ours in about 2 weeks! Wow, only 16995 between Girlfalldown and mine. Way to casually drop that you started in the sport with Capewell's and round mains. I almost missed it.

We're supposed to be amazed at the amount of luggage Skymama is reported to be bringing. It's OK, I will have the Giant Deuce Trunk O' Stuff, a full Dakota bed and that boat thingie that I put on the roof. I have no plans to bring the motorcycle this time. The only reason to travel light is if you are carrying it on your back. -
Dude, smoking crack is REALLY dangerous at 40. Just set the pipe down.

It's four months away still. I can't hold my breath that long. -
Absolutely. But I find if I set the focus point up that I intend to use, and frame with it where I want the camera to focus, I have gotten some good results. I have busted on others. I would never use autofocus (at this point in my ability) if I was getting paid to get a shot. But it can produce some neat results using aperature priority and autofocus to limit depth of field.

Wired shield and red, the camera will autofocus before it fires if you leave the lens on AF.

Last year I picked up my family in Phoenix after the boogie and we went to the Grand Canyon via Sedona. It's real pretty. We went horsback riding, and found some nice spots, but we weren't allowed to even trot, let alone gallop. There was still some snow on the ground. The Grand Canyon was better. Not crowded, cold clear air. Just beautiful.

Neato! Congrats!

I'm almost always out of a KingAir, and it's a tough shot to get. I grab the lower half of the door with both hands, trail my right leg, and keep the ball of my left foot on the trailing edge of the step. We've got a new pilot, and he's keeping airspeed way up. Safe, but really, really hard to hang on, since I'm first out and hanging on for dear life while the TM pair sets up. Sometimes I have to grab the lower part of the door with my left hand and still hang on to the peg with my right. Lower is better, because the passenger almost always looks just about straight down until the TM pulls their head back.

Ah, Clay. We both know I can kick your ass. I have so much more experience with street-level ass kicking and first-class passengers just won't give you the knowledge I have. Bring dark chocolate, and throw it at the terrorists.....
