The rigs are about as big as tandems, but that's cause they can carry a 300 pound combat load on them. And they're weird! I can only think these guys would be better off actually jumping tandem rigs instead of the monster military-committee-designed stuff they've got.

Saturday the PJ's came out for some freefall time and some coaching. It's always fun, cause these guys are all "Oooh-rah!", or "Hoo-hah!", or whatever the hell zoomie paratrooper-medic-commando's yell when they jump out the side door of a C-130 to get wounded troops out from behind enemy lines. Anyhow, we also have lots of cute chickie-mama's at Byron and that doesn't hurt either . So here's the senior NCO of the group froot-looping the lovely Rebecca while one of his PJ's checks his altimeter to see if he's going to have time to get a turn. I have a couple of pictures I'd like to submit, so if any of you Byron peeps can get me Don's last name, and the names of the two Airmen (the one in the black jumpsuit and the one in the grey one) I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! JP

Check out Madstyle.net. All those are with a Sony. I think Evan describes his set up on the site. Matthias Lundblad uses the Canon point and shoot with good results too. But those folks get frustrated with the DSLR's around. -
Scott, look at the pics that Iwan has on his shutterfly site. Those are all taken with the Sigma 15. Because of the magnification factor, almost all the fisheye is clipped off. That picture of the moderators exiting that I got published with you in it was with the Sigma 14mm asperical. If you are going to part with the cash to get the Canon 15, I would think seriously about the Sigma 14. JP

Dang, MacDaddy, you scared me! Glad to hear you're recovering, and you know better than to try and rush it, but try to heal up first. I am a total hypocrite for suggesting that. See you in Perris, and I'm dying to see your side by side comparisons of the new camera vs. what you've been flying. Should it be the case that a person who has all of Maslow's needs covered except personal fulfillment keep them from bitching that they don't feel loved? This is not me, in particular, but just an observation about American culture that you have no right to bitch cause somebody else has it worse. Is it OK to bitch that your 40th floor corner office has florescent lighting? Is it OK to whine about your Explorer not being a Humvee or Prius? Just cause folks are starving does that make you miss your lunch any less? -
Huh. I crack up at the allegation of "mutilation" from folks who've pierced themselves wherever. Some occupations, like the military, can put a man where he doesn't have access to running water for significant lengths of time. My dad isn't and it caused him a little grief when he got sent to the Korean War. I am. If I had a son, I'd have it done.

I have three reserve rides. All on PDR 143's One was a reserve safety day provided by PD and Gravity Gear and two were real reserve rides. I yanked front riser both times to get a little more forward speed for excellent stand up landings, but by grabbing the thick risers, not dive loops. Why no dive loops on "high performance" reserves?

i have to completely agree....i also made a few jumps on the old Vector tandem rig and with the sigma there is no more of that head low drag from the drogue. I like it alot. You fag (non sexual reference) A real camera flier can video anything. Even a heavy Vector tandem. Like I do. Every weekend. Wuss.
