  1. the requirement is usually steeper than that - waiting 30 or more seconds, or in the case where it's just the left turn signal that won't trigger, waiting 2 cycles. Two cycles is the law here. I have gone through a few lights on my bicycle. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  2. Congratulations Skymama. Great to get that behind you. I wish you happiness and joy going forward. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  3. Clearly those teens should be arrested for interfering with official police business. Possibly also violating wiretapping statutes. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  4. Clinton was doin' other things... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  5. I don't think it would, since marijuana is still illegal under federal law, regardless of what statutes states have passed. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  6. Here are a couple of threads with some pictures attached in them: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2360306;search_string=pin%20bridle;#2360306 http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=1662858 "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  7. You must not remember the uproar about Bush's golfing and vacations I think this is just a parody on that which exposes the hypocrisy of the left on topics like this What do you think? It's stupid regardless of which "side" does it. I don't care if Obama goes golfing this weekend or not, he can still be working o the budget deal the whole time. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  8. I read it this morning. I guess that was before it started getting so many hits because I had no problems pulling it up. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  9. Ha. Priceless. I hope that makes it into the pleading. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  10. Thought the same thing. But, NASA data is NASA data. Yeah, but in this case it's who is interpreting the interpretation of the data. James Taylor works for Heartland, Heartland is in the pocket of big oil. James Taylor is NOT the scientist looking at the data, he's simply the guy putting big oil's spin on it. It's not a press release or some in-house study. It's published in a peer-reviewed journal. Funny, somewhere I read that was the gold standard. Have you actually read the study and its conclusions? It's much less sensationalist than the yahoo article reporting it. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  11. This is a good point, I check mine several times and have other people check it even when I am sure. I don't use packers and am very diligent about double checking. I have a Wings, so I don't know if I am going to use this method or not, I am going to look at it and talk about it w/ some riggers, though. The pin through bridle lock seems rare. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  12. Science reporting sucks, including this one, but you should read the journal article it was based on. While it does conclude a substantial gap between theory and observed data it is considerably less sensationalist. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  13. I think there were quite a few greek speaking jews in the diaspora. It is somewhat speculative if Jews or Gentiles wrote the gospels. I personally believe on the basis of informed inquiry that a Jew living in Egypt wrote the Gospel of John and that Matthew was also written by a Jew. There are a lot of different opinions though. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  14. You sure know your dogmatics. Have to say you aren't much for apologetics, though. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  15. If you want to go trolling for dates on Craiglist, well, just remember, love is fleeting, herpes is forever. I've met people through online dating (including current girlfriend) but Craiglist is super sketchy. I've also met people (not dates but interest groups) through meetup.com. I used to be in a book group and a hiking group through there. Much better place if you are in a new and different city. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  16. I do not know for sure but if you really want me to I can ask Todd (attorney) what kind of civil claim he would pursue. You would have to have the money to move forward but it may be less than you think. Yes, I'd be interested in what sort of civil claim you would pursue and what sort of recovery you would hope to have. I assume? that you would sue the city as well as the officer personally? How much money would you have to have to move forward on something like this? I would guess $5000-$10000 in cash just for retainers. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  17. I would take it to a civil matter but after I made a huge deal to the department and hopefully moved towards a big punishment for how he acted. I actually sent this over to my attorney and he even said that this would not be a hard case to press. I understand the more resources you have ($$ for attorney) the easier it is to pressure the department to take meaningful action against the officer. Usually people don't have the resources to do that. I am curios to know exactly what kind of civil claim would result. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  18. I don't have a problem w/ any of these camps. I actually went to Boys State a long time ago (it is for rising high school seniors). I learned some things. I probably wouldn't have gone if I knew then what I know now, but that is life to live and learn. I just hope Glenn Beck would call out our own response to "Hitler Youth" camps, you know, in the interest of fairness and accuracy. Being that it is aligned w/ the conservative leaning American Legion, I don't see that happening. I don't understand how Glenn Beck gets airtime. I like devate shows and will listen to all sorts of things but I can't stand to have him on the radio, all sorts of noise and very, very little substance. I actually think he is the worst of all of the political commentators shows. I don't know anybody who likes him but somebody must, he still has a show. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  19. Glen Beck is awful. There are camps here in America that are all about politics. The largest I know of is the Boys State/Girls State program which is run by the American Legion. It was started as a counter-movement to Hitler Youth camps. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  20. I think I get it, but I just don't think it is for me. I'm hesitant to say never but I just don't like the thin margin of error that swooping gives you and I've known of too many people I consider good, experienced canopy pilots who have gotten hurt. I'm fine w/ other people doing it. When I get more experienced I am anxious to try some CReW and I know some people say that is crazy as well. We each get to decide our own risk tolerance. I think Swooping is out for me. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  21. Just a question, RStanley, but what would your attorney do to the cop? My opinion, part of what makes this so egregious is that the victim is left with little or not recourse. The police department "may" investigate. My guess is this cop might get some remedial training at most, when I think he should be both fired and charged with assault but it will be a cold day in hell before that happens. I guess a citizen could file a civil action, maybe, but I'm not quite sure what the civil action would be for? And what the expected outcome would be? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  22. It's not a threat of execution. I'm still waiting to hear why you think the cop threatening to cave the guys head in is not a death threat. Because I don't take it literally, I seriously doubt he meant it literally either and even if he did, he said he was close to, not going to. Let me ask you this, have you never used the phrase, "I'm going to kill you" as hyperbole? Let's play a little thought experiment to see if this was a threat or some kind of meaningless hyperbole.... What would have happened if the roles had been reversed and the motorist had used this same sort of verbiage towards the cop? Best case scenario the motorist is charged with felony assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, and a host of other crimes. Worse case scenario the officer shoots him because he "feels threatened" and it is later exonerated as a good shooting. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  23. And, if it is a good method for UPT is it also a good method for other containers? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  24. Saw this one USPA website: http://unitedparachutetechnologies.com/PDF/Support/Sport/ALTERNATIVE_MAIN_CONTAINER_CLOSING_TIP_INSTRUCT-027_Rev-0.pdf Don't know if this is a method some people were already using, if people had thoughts on its pluses and minuses, etc. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
