Beer and wine festival Saturday. Jumping Sunday and Monday. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
-
No, because they're not forcing me to... I've learned to fuction in a free society without having to sue people for emotional stess. I like to engage society's diversity...it allows an opportunity to be an influence. Okay, not you. Let's say your children. While they are still in elementary school. Prayers led by the principal and/or teacher. Your response shows that as an adult you would have one reaction. Perhaps you do not remember or cannot picture the coercive nature of such actions led by an authority figure. The coercive nature is much more persuasive on younger children. This coercive nature is why it is prohibited in school. I am not offended when people pray in front of me either. However I do not believe it is appropriate for public school assemblies. That's a good one...what a bunch of comedians. Just some food for thought for some of you Christians backing school based and led prayer....Louisiana has a large Catholic population. If you are in a part of the state where the Catholics comprise the majority are you okay w/ public school prayers to the Virgin Mary? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Bail out, or land with the plane?
Southern_Man replied to JohnRich's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Note that in my scenario everyone sat tight awaiting word from the pilot, and only when the plane has descended to a hard-deck altitude with no word from the PIC, do I then suggest that people make their own go/no-go decision. I don't know how you are deriving these misinterpretations of my statements... I don't know, but my reading is that people may be suggesting that aircraft emergencies are too complicated a situation with too many variables to be boiled down to a simple yes/no question. I missed the part about borrowing $42 of the $100 from the Chinese? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Newt says, Quoting me is false! http://thinkprogress.org/2011/05/18/gingrich-any-ad-which-quotes-what-i-said/ He will pull a hamstring backpedaling that quickly. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Well, it is just my opinion but I think if you applied this same standard of evidence (I am not even 100% sure what you mean by hard evidence?) that you would have a difficult time proving the existence of just about anybody from that time period. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

I'm not sure why people would dismiss Josephus' and Tacitus' references to Jesus as being evidence. They may not be definitive but they are evidence. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

I have a copy of the Grateful Dead covering that song. Awesome, "We don't take our trips on LSD" "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Welcome to the addiction. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

I know this can't be true, since you've posted repeatedly that you make over 100,000 and how that is so little money in New Jersey. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Back to the original post: The contention of the article is that this is an attack on unions. Funny thing is that the players do not have a union any more. They think they are better off without it. Anyway, if there are games this fall I will probably watch some of them. If there aren't, well, I won't. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

It does not take much to move a tetrahedron. Light and variable can easily move it 90* or more in the middle of a load. Of course you can weight them differently but that is a trade-off. Weight it to not move in light and variable and you will have a number of times the tetrahedron is not showing you the true wind direction. I bet skydivers would look at other wind indicators and follow the wind from that if they thought the tetrahedron was not reliable. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Schumer Calls For ‘Do Not Ride’ List For Amtrak

Don't forget, it would also provide us another place where we could all get out junk patted. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
You really just enjoy the abuse, don't you? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Is this how you have been flying your pattern? In other words, was this "talking to" a result of you doing something different than standard practice or was it a result of increased vigilance at your DZ over pattern discipline? What sort of high speed approach? Front risering a 90*? Great than 90? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

What ONE thing that you no longer have but would like back?

Are there really that many crooked skydivers?
Southern_Man replied to catfishhunter's topic in The Bonfire
I don't know how many crooks are actually out there, I know that I am not able to always tell who is and hwo isn't. A canopy for $1600, which isn't all the money in the world but is still significant to me, would require some kind of surety. Could be escrow, could be somebody trustworthy to vouch for you, etc. Escrow is the most practical at my level because I don't really know many people in skydiving who could vouch for strangers (unless they were relatively local). I don't think it ruins anything, Just another step. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

sigh - social engineering via the tax code - lovely Do you have a better solution? The problem is that you get idiocy like subsidizing high mileage/electric vehicles that then have the unintended (but full predictable) consequences of reducing gas tax revenue. So then you change the formula for that, causing other unintended (maybe or maybe not predictable) consequences. It just becomes a market-distorting quagmire. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
-
Yes, the government has to have some way to recoup the subsidies they gave to people to buy electric vehicles. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Are there really that many crooked skydivers?
Southern_Man replied to catfishhunter's topic in The Bonfire
Cabela's aint sending me my order for Ammo without getting paid... I posted wondering if SKYDIVERS where that crooked. I know all about the scammers but how many SKYDIVERS have ripped people off. Other then Gary that is.... P.S. I just sold my canopy :) Not everybody placing or answering an ad on this site is a skydiver. Skydivers don't have some supernatural immunity from the human temptations and frailties that plague all of life. Seems to me a 3rd party rigger is the safest for both parties. If you don't want to bother, then don't.' I've only bought 2 things on here, I paid for both before they were shipped. It occurred to me that I could be ripped off but they were relatively low cost items so it was a chance I was willing to take. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
