That's not true, I doubt, for example, if more then 1% of the contents of the bible is about other religions being wrong. I think you would lose that bet. The conpare/contrast aspects of the Bible are very extensive...it is a major theme of the prophets, for example. It is also a good part of the subject matter of Ezra, Nehamiah, Corinthians, etc. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Thinking of A-license after tandem jump
Southern_Man replied to ph.nilsson's topic in Safety and Training
Don't worry about it. Show up to your first jump course, you make your first couple of skydive friends then. Keep showing up and soon you have more skydiving friends then you can count. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

So I was looking around and found the following information about the MARS M2: The services life is 15 years or 15,000 jumps No servicing required (including apparently no battery changes) Cost--I found two suggested costs--699 Euros (~920 usd 90 Canadian, 885 Australian), I also found a 769 Euro price Can't find anything about firing parameters, the link to the manual was no longer a valid link. Yes, it appears Florida law does allow you to provoke a confrontation and then when it is going badly to use your gun. Although in that case you do have a duty to try to get out of the fight without using deadly force. Here is the relevant part of the statute: 776.041 Use of force by aggressor. —The justification described in the preceding sections of this chapter is not available to a person who: (1) Is attempting to commit, committing, or escaping after the commission of, a forcible felony; or (2) Initially provokes the use of force against himself or herself, unless: (a) Such force is so great that the person reasonably believes that he or she is in imminent danger of death or great bodily harm and that he or she has exhausted every reasonable means to escape such danger other than the use of force which is likely to cause death or great bodily harm to the assailant; or (b) In good faith, the person withdraws from physical contact with the assailant and indicates clearly to the assailant that he or she desires to withdraw and terminate the use of force, but the assailant continues or resumes the use of force. anyone pay for packing class during A license training
Southern_Man replied to firematic47's topic in Safety and Training
I paid for a packing class but it was not a mandatory part of the training. If you could learn to pack another way and could pass the "pack with assistance" and "pack without assistance" jumps through another means (usually an experienced jumper showing you how to pack) then you did not have to take or pay for a course. I sincerely hope not. It seems to me from what he wrote that they are following the ISP in the SIM. An E-1 jump is an instructor jump. He has to pass that before being cleared for self supervision in freefall and moving on to coached jumps. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Goldwater was libertarian, particularly in his social views. He was for legalized abortion, gays in the military, and marijuana legalization. He was direct in condemning the views of the "Religious Right" and would not be associated with today's social conservatism at all. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Voter Fraud Probe Nets Many Charges RICHMOND (AP) — An ongoing Virginia State Police investigation of voter fraud since 2008 has resulted in charges against 38 people. Most of those cases have resulted in convictions, while 26 additional cases are still under investigation. In 2008, the state Board of Elections forwarded more than 400 allegations from 62 cities and counties to Virginia State Police for investigation. Board of Elections Secretary Donald Palmer says the complaints varied from voter registration issues to potential polling place fraud on Election Day. But state police say 194 of those cases have been closed because prosecutors declined to bring charges for various reasons. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

If this really makes your head spin then I think you would do well with a deeper understanding of fundamentalist theory of political engagement. Sure, fundamentalist think Mormons are going to hell (frankly, this is a shared trait with more liberal Christians as well--Catholics, Methodists, Presbyterians, Episcopalians, etc. all rebaptize Mormon converts because they do not consider Mormon baptism as valid in any way) but evangelicals and fundamentalists have been willing for a long time to make alliances off convenience with people who support their social views. Jerry Falwell, who is, you know, kind of the Godfather of Fundamentalist political engagement having started the Moral Majority, said specifically about Mitt in 2006: I This was Falwell's position from the beginning on political engagement and he was willing to make common cause with right-to-life Catholics, support candidates like the nominally Presbyterian Reagan, and engage in a host of ways in alliances of convenience. Do you really not know the answer to this question? It's pretty common in several Western states and parts of Canada and Mexico. East Coast most of my life. Only thing we ever had around here were some Hippie Communes during the 60's. Well, a polygamy compound is simply where a group of like mind folks, in this case united by dedicated to fundamentalist mormonism including polygamy, live together. Sometimes the land is all owned in common but sometimes it is just people buying interconnected plots. Some polygamous compounds include Colorado City, AZ, Hildale, UT, YFZ Ranch near Eldorado, TX, Bountiful, British Columbia, Pringle, South Dakota, Mancos, CO, and Ozumba, Mexico. Living communally often helps the group to shield themselves from authorities. There are many, many polygamists who do not live in strictly polygamist communities as well. it does when you make as ass of yourself, telling someone else that they obvious use English as a second language. It's probably the most prevalent screw up people do on the internet. If you can't spell grammar, don't throw stones at others for it. Your house isn't made of glass, it's made of cotton...and a hurricane is on the horizon. It's Skitt's law in action. AADs are not TSO items in the US. Neither Vigil nor Cypres have FAA approval. However, riggers have to pack in accordance with manufacturer instructions, so if the manufacturers won't state that Riggers can pack the M2 in rigs, then FAA riggers can't. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Michigan lottery winner still on food stamps
Southern_Man replied to Lefty's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, I think that is a fine theory in theory. In point of fact these kinds of cases are evaluted individually. Sometimes that is done at the point of prosecutorial discretion (and sometimes the Social Services Department makes the call even before that) and sometimes at tht point of sentencing. My guess (I work in this system but have no hard facts to go on) is that 90%+ of these cases are never prosecuted. The people are allowed to repay any benefits they improperly received. This is like due to a couple of factors: 1. Sums are relatively small so it is hard to justify investigation/prosecution time in them 2. lack of ability to prove intent. Generally fraud requires intent to be proven. This can be hard to prove when uneducated people are dealing with a complex system. (this is a stereotype of course). The context in which I work with people with welfare benefits is as a case manager for people with intellectual disabilities. In my case I can almost guarentee that one of my clients receiving illegal benefits would not be charged due to lack of ability to prove intent. I still would guess they can't prove intent with this woman, but I don't really konw that. There are facts yet to be revealed. My point is simply that you have to deal with individual facts in individual cases. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

I disagree with that with an intensely white hot emotion "making an example" of someone (i.e., punishing them MORE than you would someone that did the exact same crime) is horribly wrong. period. deterrent is NOT rationalization for unequal treatment under the law Deterrance is definitely a legitimate aim of the criminal justice system. Some prosecutions have a higher deterrance value than others. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
