  1. He was born in Mexico to polygamists, don't ya know. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  2. The government can try to regulate that however much they want, biology is in control on that one. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  3. Selection bias may be a problem with your poll. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  4. THAT should have been the top option. I drove over 1000 miles to OKC for a job. It's the location of the FAA's training school for ATC, controller boot camp, if you will. I've also been there a few other times for various FAA schools over the years. I don't like the tornadoes, the red dirt or the ice storms and what I saw as a lack of good brew pubs. I do like the people there though. I thought they were very nice, even if I grew up in Texas. Sounds familiar, all my trips to OKC were when my dad (FAA electronic tech) went for various schooling there. I remember more than one night spent hunched over in the bathtub due to tornado warnings. 5. We do have a choice, I'm free to jump with any AAD (minus Argus which is banned in my container) that I chose, or none at all. That's a choice. Also, if the market is really that inefficient there is ample room for somebody else to recognize a market opportunity, develop his own AAD, sell if for considerably less and still reap large profits. 6. You are confusing two separate numbers. We are a net importer of crude oil. We recently became a net exporter of refined oil proucts. We have a large amount of refining capacity, so we are importing raw materials, refining them, then exporting some of the refined products. Crude Oil and refined oil are kept track of separately. 7. Probably thinking "Thank God I don't have to [again] go through the farce of pretending to actually want to break that record" "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  8. Who is we? Medicine is kind of complicated. It is going to be hard for most folks to navigate on their own. Even those who use all the resources available usuallly end up knowing only some of the possibilities and have to rely on their educated, experienced doctor for the rest. Skydiving has a SIMS manual, why can't we have a SIMS manual for health care? You can. It would be thousands of pages long to account for just a fraction of the contingencies. 9. Seems more the later to me. Honestly your previous post about Fournier sounds like you had met him and spent some time around him... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

  11. is your doctor looking at your best interests? or is he trying not to get sued and make money to buy a new house on the beach? I don't trust anyone right now and I think, if given some good information, I could better direct my treatment while keping the doctor on my side instead of the side of his pocket book. You can make yourself an educated consumer of health care now. It will take some work but there is a world of information available on the internet. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  12. Great stuff! Quote: "...background noise from cars, birds and traffic all register above or near air traffic noise and in some cases are even higher."That report would seem to put the complainers in their place as having no leg to stand on, either legally or factually. That entire report sounds like the staff is sick of the noise complaints and wants enough documentation to tell the complainers to stick it. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  13. Isn't ignorance of the law, no excuse? Chuck All depends on the law, and I am sure Andy or Lawrocket will correct me if I am wrong, but certain crimes including perjury and fraud, one of the elements of the crime you have to prove is intent. In some case ignorance is an excuse. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  14. I just explained above that this woman would have been caught eventually. But just a for instance, if you wanted to change the reporting and verification cycle from yearly to monthly there would be no problem doing that. You would just have to hire 12 times as many eligibility workers. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  15. If there was a 1040 or a 1099 generated then it would turn up in the Social Security database. Out local DSS workers can access that earnings record and do when it is time to check (usually annually). I believe lottery winnings generate a 1099, so she would have been caught at her next review anyway. She was not honestly collecting, people are required to report changes in income or assets within 10 days. She won her lottery last September. Unless she has an extremely lenient department (which is very unlikely given the publicity) she will be required to pay back any benefits she received since that date. She may be subject to charges or fraud as well, although that is rare. Based purely on her interview (ambiguous) and the circumstances I would say that the publicity weighs towards her being charged w/ fraud but her cluelessness weighs against it (intent to defraud is an element you must prove). 16. That's just not true. MANY MANY people sell gear internationally, a LOT of 2nd hand gear in OZ came from the USA or Europe, Search the forums a bit there's loads if info on the better ways to buy and shipp gear internationally, Some sellers will sell internationally but some won't. The good news for the OP is that once he filled in his profile it turns out he is in Canada. I think most US sellers will sell to Canada, so he has that going for him. I was just speculating on one reason he wasn't getting responses, it is impossible to know definitively why those particulat sellers didn't get back to him but international inquiry is one possible reason. 17. Before you get out the pitchforks do you have any actual experience in social services? Do you have any evidence that somebody was aiding this woman to cheat? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  18. At least they need a warrant for those, though. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  19. You might have better luck if you filled in your profile. But yes, if you are asking to ship internationally, many sellers will just not be interested. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  20. I like job interviews, of course I am looking for a job right now, so I need them. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  21. Yeah, I hadn't really thought about them in this whole debate. They view all illness as illusory and able to be gotten rid of through faith. I would guess they would have to provide health insurance as well (at least through their media arm, Christian Science Monitor). At least they should have the cheapest premiums around... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  22. This is true throughout the system. They do have to provide verification, it is not just taking their word for it. And they are supposed to report changes in income or assets within 10 days. You do understand the compliance costs if the DHS had to monitor everybody's income and assets in real time? So instead we have an imperfect system but in this case it seems to have caught up with her pretty quickly. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  23. Of course it matters where the people are from, all sorts of diseases show different characteristics in different populations. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  24. No longer on food stamps. http://www.mlive.com/news/index.ssf/2012/03/michigan_lottery_winner_kicked.html "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
