  1. Quite a few in two different areas of the country I have lived in. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  2. Republicans need to stop buying into simplistic bullshit like this. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  3. We really, really need to end this. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  4. This would be a necessary step but it would also be necessary to change a lot of the platform emphasis as well. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  5. Hi Jerry, Mail is the 21st century? I never mail anything... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  6. That is hardly a surprise, since gambling was pretty much the basis for development of probability theory and a lot of statistics. He did nail it though. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  7. It all depends on what evidence you look at. OK, post the evidence you look at to confirm you in that belief. I've looked at tons of media recounts. They all confirm that Bush won [just for the record I was not and am not a Bush fan and didn't vote for him]. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  8. OK. You believe this firmly; I firmly believe the opposite - and so do a lot of people around the world. Let's just say it's debatable. You can believe whatever you want but the evidence does not support this belief. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  9. A first step would not even be actively resisting but refusing to aid. For instance in this raid on a Fresno farm the local law enforcement cooperated with the Feds. They need to stop doing that. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  10. Weren't you underweight at some point? That leads to a lot of immune system problems. Do you eat enough healthy fats? That is important in supporting immune function. Generally you are right, though, the bonfire is not a good place to get medical advice. I wouldn't ask my doctor how to hook a 270 either. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  11. I've read the dissent in Raich. It was brilliant. Which oregon case? Is that the Native American/peyote case? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  12. Oregon's ballot measure was defeated, unfortunately. There is a whole lot of federal precedent that needs to be overturned and a whole bunch of 10th Amendment balance that needs to be restored. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  13. The fact that it's still a federal crime will mean continuation of the black market. See Gonzales v. Raich. I am 100% sure some black market will continue. The ballot measure I was most interested in was Oregon's, as it pictured the state as the wholesaler/distributor of the entire crop, which would have brought the federal-state conflict to a head quickly, I imagine. I suspect Colorado/Washington will still push it in that direction. I do think one of the benefits of legalizing recreational use is that users will not have to show an ID card and be on some sort of registry somewhere (hopefully). They can just go in the store, pay cash, have no paper record. If somehow wickard v. filburn could be overturned this would all be much simpler. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  14. I'm interested if people from Washington or Colorado can add any knowledge of the proposed regulatory scheme. My understanding is that Colorado is now going to the legislature to design a regulatory scheme. I understand Washington proposes a 25% tax at each of three different stages in the process. What can you guys add to that? Will there still be medical marijuana in those states? Will there be state-owned retailers or independents? Will there be required registration of any sort? Interesting to see if the 75% tax in Washington will lead to continuation of a large underground market or not. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  15. She's still not the most experienced candidate unless you are giving her credit for all the years her husband was in office. Eight years senator and four years as Sec State definitely makes her qualified but not the most experienced candidate. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  16. Don't know what country you are in. In the USA you can pack without being a rigger. It is a way a lot of people have taken to get started in the sport. Contact your local DZ and see if they can help you. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  17. Congratulations, what will you be doing? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  18. I continue to believe that there is still an place for a party of limited government. However that place currently is not the Republican party. Here are, IMHO, a list of issues the Republicans need to reconsider their stance on: Abortion (restriciton of personal freedom) The war on drugs (restriction of personal freedom) Gay marriage (bigotry) Resources devoted to getting rid of brown people (bigotry) Tax breaks for the rich (will not lead to balanced budgets) Government spending for corporate welfare (Wall Street Banks, Defense contractors--will continue deficits) Military expansionism overseas Talks about less entitlement programs but is not willing to put a credible plan forward towards lowering deficits (which is admittedly difficult because it will involve a lot of pain--Real budget progress is not possible without increased taxes, lower military spending, and lower spedning on Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security). Instead we get talk about Amtrak and PBS--this is pandering. Frankly it is amazing that Republicans continue to hold onto as many elected offices as they do considering the hallowness of their claims to be a party in support of smaller government versus the reality of the policies they push and represent. 19. I can see new claims already being forumulated: "Democrats oversampled in election!" "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  20. It is unclear, but one way that states could do it is to only legalize sale to people with an ID for that state. Big federal/state conflict is coming over this issue. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  21. Direct voting for president was not necessarily a part of the electoral system as designed by the founders. Why it hasn't been changed, well, that is a more complicated question. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  22. I walked right up, no waiting. Whole thing took less than 10 minutes. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  23. Which way did ~twardo vote? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  24. It means you were driving through rural Georgia and north Fla. Nothing more and nothing less. I'd say your observations are indicative of the relative support of the ticket in those areas. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
