  1. The 80 year old couple is grooming you. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  2. I believe this is a requirement for an AFFI rating but not a tandem rating. You only need 3 hours of freefall for a D license and I can't find anything else on the proficiency card. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  3. I don't want to be accused of not appreciating the latest submission so I will just post to say Bravo! I was going to guess McSwervy. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  4. I don't see this at all. We have robust competition in my town. One station in particular will aggressively lower their price about every two months. A lot (but not all) of the other stations will lower for competition. Recently we have a new 7-11 open in town and they kept their prices very low for the first two weeks they were open to try to establish themselves in the market. Sure, the swings tend not to be that high but as others have explained that is because all the stations buy from a limited number of suppliers and the mark-up tends to not be very high to begin with. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  5. Are you talking about prices at the pump or wholesale price per barrel? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  6. Yes Virginia elected a democrat but the idea that this is the first time in a long time is completely false. The current governor is Republican. The two before that were both democrats. Virginia governors serve a single 4 year term. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  7. Since you are going to the DeWulf course you will not need to bring any equipment. Dave will also sell you any of the equipment or tools that they use in the course (the entire bag, or any part thereof). His prices are very competitive. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  8. I may be missing something about your story but if he is already receiving social security then he is not going to receive a higher benefit through disability. He will just be missing the small income he is getting through working. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  9. Okay. There is no reason government should regulate or privilege relationships between consenting adults in any way. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  10. Has nobody requested a picture of promise5's Mom yet? How can this be? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  11. My 13 year old did a little bit of packing this past summer under my supervision (and with assistance). There were jumpers willing to have her pack for them. Part of the reason they were willing to do that is that I was closely supervising her. Will your dad be closely supervising you? At least to start? Will he jump your pack jobs? If he will supervise you and jump your pack jobs than I would bet there will be a few jumpers who will let you pack for them. If you do a good job with those then other jumpers will start letting you pack for them, etc. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  12. I feel bad for the guy who was violated. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  13. Are you really equating Republicans and conservatives? Is that a joke? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  14. I don't know about the DZs in MIchigan but there are DZs in wisconsin that jump all winter long. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  15. The question wasn't, "has the GOP moved to the right relative to the Democrats." It was, "have they moved to the right." I understood the question. Both parties are a disgrace on civil liberties and protecting citizens from unwarranted search and seizure. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  16. Odd gripe for a runner. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  17. They haven't moved further. I think both parties have moved significantly to the right on this issue in appalling fashion. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  18. Vigil Recommendation: Take care to not exceed the activation velocity near When the user decides to ride down with the aircraft in lieu of jumping, the pilot must be advised of the status of your Vigil® to limit his descent rate according to the mode [less than 45mph (20m/sec) for “STUDENT” and less than 78mph (35m/sec) for “PRO” or “TANDEM”] and set activation altitude (this is especially important for Vigil® programmed in “STUDENT” mode). In these circumstances we recommend that the Vigil® be switched off, if possible. Cypres recommendation: Take care to not exceed the activation velocity near or below the activation altitude(s) when descending with skydivers. Our measurements indicate that extraordinary rates of descent are achieved in turbine aircraft, as the pilot is concentrating on max airspeed, and typical aircraft VSI instruments are heavily damped and “peg” at 3,000 ft./minute. Note: in the case of Student CYPRES, always make sure the jumpmaster has switched them off prior to descent in ANY aircraft. I cannot quickly find any specific guidance in the MARS manual (it may be in there, I will take a longer look when I have more time). Know your gear. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  19. As a packer this would mean a lot more income for me but it is just silly. Packing is fine as an A license requirement and helps people learn about their gear. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  20. You must be such a wonderful person to be around. Fuck swoopers. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  21. Well it can definitely be done but this guy's problem is he has no experience as a packer. There is at least a month that he is going to spend really getting up to speed if he can find somebody willing to hire him to learn on the job. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  22. Yup, I got divorced. Seriously, I had horrible sleep problems. Cutaway and now I sleep like a baby. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  23. I only hate lawyer's professionally, not personally. It is a good thing I can compartmentalize. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  24. That's some catch, that catch 22. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
  25. Perhaps it is just because I am a new rigger (and came of age with an awareness of the issue) but I look up the recommended canopy size with each rig I pack. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
