The mostly solid fabric pilot chute is referred to as a ballute pilot chute. Here is an older thread in which Bill Booth explains his reasoning (with counter-points): http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=3842194#3842194 "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Raleigh NC and Nashville TN - where to jump
Southern_Man replied to shorehambeach's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Triangle Skydiving Center is right outside of Raleigh and will be having a boogie over Thanksgiving weekend. It is a nice dropzone and they have a good crowd for the Boogie (lots of Canadians). The Canadians all think it is warm. Some years it is pretty nice. Some years it gets a little cold. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
That's their obvious intent. Hopefully Mile Hi has access to the USPA airport access fund. Not really an airport access issue. Just about the definition of a nuisance suit, hopefully airport and city officials will back Mile-Hi skydiving without any problems, since they did things like measure the noise level. Yes asking for attorneys fees is the most appropriate remedy. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Fabric testing [pull test] should be done annually on the topskin rightmost cell, top skin leftmost cell, and center tail. It should be marked on the packing card. According to the PD manual. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Actually I believe the main test they do is a porosity test. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

You surely do, having worked in the mental health field, one of the most challenging to have treatments authorized and often requiring a lengthy preauthorization process and appeals. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

If you have used gear then there is no way to accurately recount what happened to it before you got your hands on it. I just repacked a guys rig about three weeks after the previous repack because the reserve closing loop had been damaged when the previous rigger packed it. according to your methodology that would be a ride but it wasn't. I know of at least a couple of other repacks that have happened because of damaged closing loops. Other possibilities exist as well. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

have you been able to sign up for Obamacare?
Southern_Man replied to SivaGanesha's topic in Speakers Corner
Your poll doesn't cover me. I haven't tried to sign up because I already have health care insurance. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
'Daily Show' comments cost GOP precinct chair his post
Southern_Man replied to ryoder's topic in Speakers Corner
Calling him "elected" is a bit of a stretch. But yes, he is a good advertisement for not voting republican. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

Light Weight Container / Harness System
Southern_Man replied to ScottGray's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'm curious how much weight difference there would be between a heavy container/harness system and a light weight container harness system. Assuming they are sized for the same canopies? I wouldn't think more than 2 pounds on any modern sport gear but I am not really sure. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Lesbian teacher fired after same sex marriage?
Southern_Man replied to normiss's topic in Speakers Corner
Walmart is also a private entity. Would it be legal if they fired an employee for a same sex marriage? We're talking about church and state. Depends on the state but a church-run school might or might not be exempt from certain aspects of non-discrimination clauses in state law. The church would argue that the school (and teaching function) was an essential ministry function and the plaintiff would argue that it was not. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

Yes, here is a list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LGBT_employment_discrimination_in_the_United_States "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
FYI that was already going to be happening. The insurnace compnaies were moving to it and you do not need the ACA to pass those two simple requirements. Keep those and scrap the rest. It was a valid answer to the question! "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Last city council election I would only vote for candidates who would support a backyard chicken ordinance. I need the eggs. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

People can't be denied insurance coverage because of pre-existing conditions. Children can stay on their parents insurance until they are 26. This is easy

Woman Arrested For Pistol Attack On Her Boyfriend

I like this from the comments: She pulls a water pistol you pull a bucket, she sends one of yours to the sprinkler you send one of her to the pool! "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Napthalene flakes were apparently banned in Australia in 2011. http://www.apvma.gov.au/news_media/media_releases/2011/mr2011-02.php "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

What "states rights" were the confederate states concerned about other than slavery (and the ability to extend slavery into new territories, forcing Northern States to enforce the fugitive slave act, etc) were the Southern States concerned about? Would any of those other states rights have led to succession or war? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

There are too many variables to give a definite answer to your question. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
-
Yes, to all of this, especially the bolded part. It is impossible to claim the south succeeded because of "economic reasons" or "states rights" as though those are somehow distinct from slavery. It was the only economic reason and the only state right that had the potential to lead to war. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Georgia: http://www.civilwar.com/resources/government/confederate-states-of-america-government-documents/148334-declaration-of-secession-georgia.html "For the last ten years we have had numerous and serious causes of complaint against our non-slave-holding confederate States with reference to the subject of African slavery. They have endeavored to weaken our security, to disturb our domestic peace and tranquility, and persistently refused to comply with their express constitutional obligations to us in reference to that property" "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Again, it is only possible to argue this if you ignore what the states themselves said about their reasons for succession. Let's try Mississppi now: http://avalon.law.yale.edu/19th_century/csa_missec.asp "Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery" "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"
