I can't answer, I have no significant other. I can say I've never cheated on anybody. I can also say I was cheated on. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

USPA BOD meeting in Nashua, NH
Southern_Man replied to MikeTJumps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I am not sure why this is the case (particularly the bolded part). I have signed waivers for my kids to go canoeing and white water rafting. I have signed waivers for them to rock climb and horse back ride. Why would waivers hold up for those activities and not ours? Are there specific cases in which skydiving waivers have been held invalid because they were signed by a parent and not somebody 18? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Probably one of the reasons such a policy works for Yale is that almost all of their undergraduates are traditionally aged. That is not the case everywhere. Things change when professors and students are also far more likely to be the same age. Still think no instructor should be involved w/ a student that they have responsibility for, just that a blanket prohibition on all undergraduates may not make as much sense elsewhere. USPA BOD meeting in Nashua, NH
Southern_Man replied to MikeTJumps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Presumably it would get a guilty verdict against the DZ but would protect USPA if the DZ did not follow the rules. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
yawn..... both dems and repubs are on the tit of big business. Why would anybody be surprised at this? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Adventures in dating - a chronicle of a first date
Southern_Man replied to k-dubjumps's topic in The Bonfire
I guess one of the side benefits of my job (I work in a community mental health center) is that I have developed a really, really good crazy filter for dating. Run away, this one is not psychotic but will create tons of drama, obviously. I am a grammar snob, too, even in texting. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
You have posted this crap many times. It is not true. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

On realising your alti is broken mid jump , do you ?
Southern_Man replied to Morne's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Big difference if it is a group jump or solo. Group I would use cues from others in the group as well as eyeballs. If I was solo I think I would turn and track perpendicular to jump run and deploy when I thought I was about the right height. I am not that experienced and while I think I would recognize the right height and pull pretty close to where I normally do, I would also like to increase my margin of error by getting away from potential others. I am always careful about clearing my airspace. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
I think a Road ID sort of thing would probably be a good idea for me, but I've never gotten one. I am not sure I've ever been stopped by the cops while running, maybe once while running at a municipal park after hours and he just asked me to leave. I run at some weird hours, so it wouldn't surprise me. I've been running as late as 1:00 AM and as early as about 4:00 AM. Pretty much every time in between. Police and courts feel totally empowered to ignore their own rules when it is convenient for them. I don't trust them at all. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

I think I weighed in on the earlier thread but here I go again. I run. I have never taken any sort of ID with me when I run. I wonder what a cop would do if I couldn't produce any idea when out for my jog? I'm sure it would be okay because I am white. After my encounters w/ the police (and the court system is even worse) I don't trust any of them to follow their own rules and procedures. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

I heard most of the Spanish team was assaulted as well. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

That being a rule change from long established ones. No, the 2x15 min. overtime rule is/was the long established law of the game. FIFA allowed the "golden goal" rule for about 10 years ~1993-~2003. Even then it was not universal, each competition could decide to use it or retain the more traditional format. It was used in 1998 and 2002 world cup. Holland definitely should have been down to 9 men by halftime. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

Six Months to Go Until The Largest Tax Hikes in History
Southern_Man replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
One of the often-overlooked advantages of libertarianism is that it reduces the amount of corruption and the influence of money in government. After all, who wants to influence and corrupt a central state that does not reward them by favorable legal treatment or contracts. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -

Six Months to Go Until The Largest Tax Hikes in History
Southern_Man replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
Well that is a nice spin And I know you believe it I do believe it. I am an independent (libertarian leaning). Any pretense the republicans have to fiscal sanity, discipline, or cutting spending have gone out the window long ago. At this point the republicans are the party of corporate kleptocracy. Tell me what is incorrect on this? Bush wanted the tax cuts but had to make them temporary to get them passed, otherwise legislatures would have balked at the effect on the deficit. Skydiving and Popular Mechanics
Southern_Man replied to AggieDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I don't think it makes a difference either. I am a runner, most people who don't run think I am crazy for running marathons. Most people think I am crazy for skydiving. Not me, I think marathoning and skydiving are both great activities. I do, however, think that ultra-marathoners and BASE jumpers are a little off Crazy is in the eye of the beholder. Six Months to Go Until The Largest Tax Hikes in History
Southern_Man replied to BIGUN's topic in Speakers Corner
This is a George Bush tax hike. It was on his watch that the legislature passed and he signed the bill that put the tax cuts into effect and also dictated that they would be temporary. If Bush and his compatriots had the political will they could have made them permanent. They did not because they did not want to be honest about the tax cuts effect on the deficit long range. So, here we are.... "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Iran's grooming guidelines: No more mullets
Southern_Man replied to lost_n_confuzd's topic in Speakers Corner
51% of Iranians are Persians. 3% of Iranians are Arabs. Other places say 65% Perian and 2% Arabs. Most of the non-Persians in Iran are various groups of Turkish speakers. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?" -
Will he do higher tests than this? Like a jump or two from 40,000 feet? Or is this it? I assume? he will do some pressure chamber testing, too? "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

The pilot tells us ground speed when he gets on jumprun. People who have been up on loads earlier in the day usually have a pretty good idea anyway. "What if there were no hypothetical questions?"

We actually have a chart inside the door of our plane that tells you how many seconds exit separation should be at various airspeeds. It is very handy, although by this point I mostly know the chart by memory. Sometimes you may add a couple seconds, depending on size and what a group is doing, etc. Based on wanting X amount of horizontal separation between groups and how long it takes to achieve X at Y groundspeed.
