    She fit the profile of a person smuggling drugs. actually she didnt, but the idiots who searched her obviously watch to much TV... and again.. it is rather sad that in the "land of the Free" a "profile" and a onsite test with a long history of inaccuracy is enough 'evidence' to be imprisoned. the LEO's involved should all spend an equal time in detainment for gross incompetence... perhaps then they will have a bit more respect for the Constitution and the freedoms it protects ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    She fit the profile of a person smuggling drugs. A test showed it was drugs, so she was arrested. The second test (three weeks later) showed it was not drugs and she was released. Do I think 3 weeks is a long time? Yep. But LEO's have the right to make arrests when they have reasonable evidence. And they did. and when she successfully sues the LEOs for incompetence she will be perfectly justified in taking the tax money those fools wasted... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    a stupid criteria really... weight is a simple number and largely irrelevant except for wingloading calculations... appearance is far more important... i've been completely out of shape and 170 and 'buff' and over 200... using raw numbers for such determination is silly... use your EYES and your MIND, not the scale you bought in walmart... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    i've found that telling people to 'lead with your head' tends to cause people to look down and/or twist their shoulders while attempting to 'lead'... which creates unnessesary movement and unintended affects that have to be countered to stay aligned.. IME its better to tuck the side you are rotating toward and 'allow the air move you' while rotating around your head until you counteract the motion .. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

    Excellent statement! I wish everyone would take responsibility for themselves instead of blaming others for their mistakes. amen... YOU pay your money, YOU take YOUR chances, YOU should take the time to educate yourself about the risks.... and if/when you cant be bothered to, and or make a mistake or forget your training..... YOU are responsible for your fate.. not the USPA, not the DZ, not your coach, packer, and certainly not the canopy manufacturer or reseller..     you are, or at least lonelier.. i'd gladly get rid of the aircraft as the way to altitude if there were a cheaper/faster method..... the aircraft cost etc is the only real barrier to actual independance as a skydiver in the sport.. you are at the mercy of the aircraft owners and the FAA regulators... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
