ah yes.. the 'my security blanket makes me feel warm' argument for truth... God doesnt care about your blanket or your text, there is far more to Divinity than your socially, culturally, myopic belief of the myths of your carpenter... when one is looking for shelter, if the first house you enter is warm and comfortable.. why not convince yourself it is the only 'real' house in existence, better than any other (yes i'm aware of the paradox.. most Xtains are not) those you've never seen, entered, slept in or contemplated? Happiness thru denial is a good way to remain ignorant of true divinity... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Maybe so. But the child’s body is not her body. The child is a separate being all together. actually not for QUITE some time in the pregnancy.. until then it is simply a lump of dying cells without its host... but dont let the basic biological facts interfere with your "some of that was my sperm! damnit!" rant its very entertaining... you are completely mistaken about your role in the reproductive processes but entertaining non the less.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well, you'll look like an idiot to most active duty/former military, but otherwise it wont matter... in addition i've always enjoyed pointing out the basic disconnect in thinking that created the "Maternity Battle Dress Uniform" as well... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

indeed Warcraft was a groundbreaking real time strategy game.. WoW is a MMORG primary aimed at a very immature audience... most adult gamers i've talked to about WoW got bored with the simplistic gameplay in less than a month... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Kenya outraged by Kiwi 'dog food' relief a whole lot of grandstanding for absolutely nothing... anyone want to bet those expressing the most "outrage" also have the largest waistlines... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

damn i guess there just arent that many 'cool' jumpers about Eloy then... nearly everyone i see regularly touches their handles, in order, at some point in their in-plane ritual...its a pretty reliable altimeter on some loads... maybe we have vastly different definitions of cool...but i'd say your statement only applies to the group you observe weekly... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

religion and science - what an odd thought I had...
Zenister replied to jumper03's topic in Speakers Corner
"one pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small" or more accurately each side of the catapillers throne.... one of the great literary analogies in Alice in Wonderland is the mushroom the catapiller sits on.. often interpreted as the duality of science and religion there is a good debate in which side is which.. does science make man 'larger' by giving him control of his environment and evolution, or 'smaller' by illustrating the brief flash of his existence in the enormity of the universe.. does religion make man 'larger' by its focus on the individual and his choices and decisions as the center point and purpose of creation, or is he simply one more mortal entity, a functioning piece in the Divine plan? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
the statement applies to Catholics as a group, those who look to an institution for answers and therefore do not exercise individual critical thinking skills. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Chapter, verse, and your interpretation thereof? Or are you just in your usual Chicken Little TEOTWAWKI song-and-dance? I'll be reading from my NIV Bible, so spare me your unsupported dogma on that topic. dont expect a response.. he has been called on several times to offer his "evidence" for critical review by the SC.. and all we hear is crickets... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

actually you'd be better off working on your individual critical thinking skills.. but hey if you NEED an institution well..... the "sheep/shepard" analogy used so often by Christiantiy is very apt... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Do you tell your employer that you do skydiving?
Zenister replied to bastichu's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Oh? I think it's -very- different. The second case is protected by law, the first is not. that is the ONLY difference.. both are simply ignorant forms of discrimination about something that has little to nothing to do with the actual JOB... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

a company not hiring a skydiver on the basis of 'they might get hurt' isnt very different from saying they wont hire women because "they might get pregnant" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
what i find extremely funny is the number of straight people who have convinced themselves this is the first or even the only 'gay cowboy movie' i suppose they've never really watched their favorite westerns with an eye for subtext.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

exactly the problem... Drug testing does little to deter use and more to contribute to the use of 'harder', less detectable drugs and/or rampant alcoholism.. of course society and business seems to believe a legal raging alcoholic is a preferable result. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I like my RAWA alot.. but when I compare the manufacturing details (hinges and latch in particular) to a friends FF2 the FF2 is clearly superior... (and more expensive as well) so you have to decide which is more important to you.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
