naw, you're just burning your cloth and proving only negative things about yourself - much like a two year old having a tantrum. I don't think you're strengthening the country (or hurting it for that matter) itself in any way. DO something, impotent gestures are for children. sure you are.. you are demonstrating that our system and the freedom it protects REALLY IS better than a good portion of the rest of world's, where you could be jailed, beaten and possibly killed for burning that simple piece of cloth.. the free exercise of your Constitutionally Guaranteed Rights does strengthen our country.. no matter what your personal veiws of the action itself.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

That's the sort of statement I'd expect from someone who's never made personal sacrifice in it's defense. It's more than "just a bit of cloth." It "represents" MUCH more than that. OK, I'll bite: It's just a bit of cloth. I'll second it.. unless you are burning MY flag.. i couldnt care less what you do with your bit of colored cloth.... you cant harm a symbol by burning it...destroying a Flag, the actual physical bit... DOES NOTHING to the Symbol... in fact in the case of the US Flag.. the fact that our laws are specifically designed to allow Freedom of expression..by burning a US Flag and exercising your constitutionally protected right to do so, you are actually strengthening and supporting the Symbol and the Ideal it represents... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you forgot "already did, on the short list to return" you could subdivide it as to 'legally declared War' or not as well.... of course i've always stated we should reveal the REAL reasons why we do what we do instead of the BS political excuses bandered about daily.... if it is about future economic security at least have the balls and the integrity to admit it FROM THE START... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

yet another example where the Church proves it has no fucking clue what actually happens "naturally" in nature... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Even if it was a hospital room 60, 40 or even 10 years from now? I dont mean to be insensitive but in my opinion the "died doing something they loved" tag is more for the benefit of those left behind. absolutely.. "how long" is MUCH less important than "how well"... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

So you are hoping to go in one day? I find that disturbing..... I think you are reading more into it than what was meant.... Then they need to choose different words because it's exactly what was said. She's hoping that one day in the future her family says she died skydiving (doing something she loves). as opposed to dying slowly, painfully lacking full motor functions in a care ward? or killed by a DD in a car wreck? no way... everybody HAS to die... I'd MUCH rather my friends and family KNOW i died doing something i chose to, something that gave me pleasure and enjoyment DESPITE the risks rather than have them remember i died in a hospital bed or by another slow method i've two friends who were killed attempting to sail around the world.. i miss them often, but i KNOW (from conversations about exactly this) they accepted the risks, accepted their fate, and died MUCH happier than they would have if they had ended their lives trapped in some sterile hospital room.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

when and individual recognizes they have lost their mind, the only "way out" is if the rest of the world goes mad as well... the desire for 'Rapture' is nothing more.. "i have had enough.. i dont just want to take my ball and go home, i wish for you to no longer play your games either." a childish idea.. but one common in primitive mythology... and mental wards ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

no, because i did AFF at SDAZ even if you come out here an extra layer of capilene, and gloves is recommended for early mornings.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
not always.. all that is required is a localized impact.. happens fairly often between motorcycles and car bumpers, so "motorcycle acccident" is the first thing every xray tech i saw asked... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

from my experience, when walking on the cane you should do so as 'correctly' as possible.. but focus on placing less and less weight on the cane while still maintaining correct form.. once you are not relying on the cane significantly, try very short distances without the cane but with correct form, if/when you start to limp take a break and go back to the cane..you can also use a walking rail or other support as you 'wean' yourself from the cane as necessary. But first talk to your physical therapist to make sure you are using your cane correctly.. ie.. a cane is not a crutch.. and yes you will have to continue diligent physical therapy to get your muscles back in shape, more than a year later I can run and jump and dance normally and while you wouldn't know i'd femured by watching me do any of those activities, i still dont have the same ease of motion or leg strength i once had.. keep training and good luck.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

WHAT?!?! Design Engineers take feedback from Field SME's? no... never happen..... without a degree in 'Electrostatic Nanofiber Engineering' and a cool MIT coffee cup what could you possibly offer in the way of advise or insight...... now where should i place this bright pink switch so it the most hassle?? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
well for this specific photogroup the creator is defining a 'camera throw' as a shot were you do not have direct control of the camera as the exposure is made.. the rules are kind of fuzzy but the easiest way to create it is set a slow exposure in a darkened room with a solo light source and fire as you toss your camera in the air.. if you check the forum group for that site you'll see there has been some discussion/disagreement as to what counted.. since we throw ourselves WITH our cameras skydiving doesnt quite count but i thought there might be some interesting night jump 'accidents' at least with the same kinds of effects.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

this started me thinking about 'long' exposure photography. i'm wondering if anyone had any interesting 'accidents' they had taken in freefall? also anyone else 'throw' cameras? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

hmm easiest way i've found to recreate the arm and shoulder strain involves a modified 'dip' exercise. I have a couple of large floor safes that are right above arm pit level on me.. so whenever i walk thru i put my arms flat and level (starting slightly above level) at my normal sitfly position and 'pick myself up' off the floor to hang for a few min... In this position i am supporting my body weight (with my arms but not my back) in the same position my arms are in (mostly) for sitflying.. (perhaps imagining you were doing a 'chest dip' exercise but supporting your body with your entire arm as opposed to just the hands.. for the nice 'upright exposed shoulders/back' position it is more difficult to replace the wind you 'hang on' however if you can find a wall (or a pillar works best IME) that you can use to 'present your back into the wind' the same way you do in the airflow.. the only issue is you cant really 'hang' as you can from your arms so its not as accurate an approximation. there are VERY few activities that cannot be trained in isolation from their specific sport. It just requires some creative thought and attention to the nature of the action you are training. However any form of isometric exercise only really works to improve strength and endurance for a specific action. Learning to coordinate the seperate actions into flight is best done by flying.... but there are certainly a variety of ways to train the muscles used outside of freefall.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i'm not so sure i agree on the 'nothing else helps". most of the activity in skydiving consists of isometric exercise (continual resistance against an 'imovable' object) i found that while learing to track most efficiently i could exercise the same muscles on the ground by 'lifting' myself off the ground holding the tracking position with my body.. the same feeling/effect can be created for sitflying but you need a high enough platform to be able to 'hang' from your arms and shoulders.. lifting weights doenst help as much because it doesnt offer the right kind of resistance, but hanging from your arm position for brief periods and extending your shoulder blades against a fix wall or pillar has helped me build strength for longer sit sessions even when i'm not in the tunnel. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

because there is more to the Holidays than any single religions narrow emphasis.. because i enjoy the time with my friends and family. because not having to go to work and still being paid is CERTAINLY worthy of celebration. because i really dont need an excuse to celebrate Life at all.. but people dont glare as much when they think they understand you.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
