yup and he's doing a fine job of exactly thatso far.. you seem to ignore the fact he doenst have any real command experience.. and that he continues to ignore, belittle, deride and backstab those who do for publicly disagreeing with his political objectives in preference to military/cultural reality. 40 years of poorly developed, badly implemented politically motivated preconceptions is not a replacement for actual experience... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

does it take along time to get the sand out? those with longer memories might recall a SME (look it up) in a position of authority who predicted EXACTLY this.. and laid out in no uncertain terms the nessesary military commitment required to prevent it and attempt to accomplish the stated objective BEFORE invasion... guess what? his expertise and professional opinion was publicly belittled and ignored (by those clearly lacking expertise or experience) and then he was fired... LOTS of people saw this coming....and were all summarily ignored because they would not support a POLITICAL objective by ignoring military and social/enviromental facts...... but saying "we told you so" doesnt bring anyone back, or do anything to change the course set by incompetent leadership....... first step in fixing a problem is to admit you made an error... we have yet to make the first step... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

WTF? Wasn't like that in my company. No way, you fall out, you're gone. to many people fail and you have the TRADOC SGT MAJs looking at your course... no one wants that, so lots of no-go's get 'slipped by ' in all levels of training... then the NCOs who got 'slipped' have to try and train them... and the ugly cycle continues.... its okay though only 80% of you have to get to the ground combat ready anyway.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

this is a bullshit argument..it is called discipline, and if the modern military taught more of it, sexual orientation would not be an issue at all.. if your discomfort affects your ability to do your mission you lack discipline.. so instead our military hides its head in the sand and shoots itself in the foot by creating a repressed, hidden segment of military personnel who wish to serve their country just as proudly as you do.. hell i personally know FOUR 3/3 Arab linguists (as well as others from several critical MOS) that were chaptered due to the military's failure to address this social issue properly... the fact is, you've probably already been in a foxhole with a homosexual... guess what? DISCIPLE is what kept you ignorant of the fact.. a discipline to hide who they really are in order to continue to serve in an environment that continues to promote ignorance and prejudice instead of progress and true discipline in the ranks.. the simple fact that you cannot imagine a gay man who doesn’t covet your ass simply because its there, shows how little you know about the real world when it comes to hetero and homosexual interaction. but then i do blame the military in this.. it continues to ingrain ignorance and prejudice instead of addressing reality. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

which begs the question: why is Heineken so much better in europe? While in greece, most of your choices are amstel (reg, not light) or Heineken...I stick with the Heineken. I could never drink as much of it here, it's just not as good. (selection and availability aside, of course) I've never had an european heineken and I've heard they're sooooooooo much better so thats on my list of things to do in the next few years.... they are not.. that taste difference? it is Canal water... there is a reason its not ranked very highly in Europe... once you smell the canals you will know... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

And I'm of the opinion that once agreed, the agreement should be irrevocable if even one wants the embryo nurtured and brought to term--as long as it's not required that an unwilling woman be required to supply the womb. this is as ridiculous a position as those who think the father should have a say in a natural pregnancy.. SHE IS NOT PREGNANT.. implanting the frozen embryos would be allowing her to be impregnated by a man who does not consent to having a child with this woman.. (one could argue this as rape even, the loss of self determination sexually, biologically) as they exist now, neither party has a greater claim to the embryos, however both have rights in determining their possible use... at this point his 'donation' is still equally in his control as it is in hers. The law should do NOTHING that removes either parties control influence without the others full consent.. if that means Solomon's rule is applied due to their disagreement so be it... the difference in a natural pregnancy is the sperm is 'given' to the woman in the act of sex.. the male cedes control and influence completely (like it or not, its a biological fact) to the female until (the possible) birth... SHE has the sole right to determine what, when and how her body may be used by the embryo/fetus (and eventual baby, if she choses to allow it) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

dude...let it go, seriously. let go of what? i'm not holding on to anything except my wine glass at the moment.... but i dont believe in giving 'gifts' with strings attached either... if its a gift.. its yours.. do what you will with it.. if i want to share it NOW i'll grab the opener from my car, but i'd never expect a Host to bow to my whims at their party... I also try not to have ulterior motives ever.... unfortunately its not a common or respected trait anymore.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

if it is really a gift, WHY do you attempt to determine its use? seems that its really not a gift is it? Hmm...I understand what you're saying here. The thing is, nowdays, people have parties and invite others over. They ask them to bring a dish and a bottle of wine or beer or something. You bring some cheese and a nice wine to go with it. The wine disappears but the cheese is put out. How does that work? I agree generally, but there is a HUGE difference between a "potluck" / "wine and cheese" party and a "Dinner Party". At the former all wine is accepted and most consumed (although its funny to see who is jockying for what bottles at times) At the later the host has often gone to great pain to plan and arrange the meal.. sometimes into several courses with various wines, expecting that the wine (even the absolutely fabulous Amarone) you brought to be included at the last minute is ridiculous... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

but unless YOU are planning the party why attempt to impose your tastes on your host and their guests.. bringing a 'fake gift' with the expectation of its use and inclusion is disrespectful to your host.. if you are that hung up on drinking the wine YOU choose.. have YOUR own party... otherwise enjoy what someone else has planned and accept that your preconceptions wont always fit the moment... its rather selfish and blatantly rude to insist on your wine at someone else's party.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
