Like I asked the others, give me any specific examples of advancement or development. Paying the bills at a couple ISPs doesn't cut it. allowing an website hosted out of one's house to turn into a multimillion dollar hosting company certainly does.... and yes i personally know at least 10 people who initially bought their computers for porn and gaming... they are by no means alone... its the 'moral geeks' who are in the dark about where the funding for development really comes from. If there isnt potential for massive profits the research simply doesnt happen.. find another industry with the profit margins found in porn... hell virtual reality is still being driven more by the porn industry than anyone else.. infact i'll easily wager 10 jump tickets that the first widespread commercial use of anything approaching 'virtual reality' is for porn... google cyber dildonics sometime.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Woman denied right to use marijuana as life-saving medication
Zenister replied to SpeedRacer's topic in Speakers Corner
NIDA has a contract with the University of Mississippi to grow none to 6.5 ACRES a year. NIDA provides the drug to anyone that has shown a need for FREE. Including 7 individuals. Currently they have about 200,000 cigarettes frozen in storage. The problem is not the availability, it is that some of the studies do not follow the rules to get the drug, or want to have someone else grow it. And statements like this do not help: "Dale Gieringer, California coordinator for the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, agrees. "It's unconscionable that they would be giving this marijuana to patients," he said. "It's stale, low-potency ditch weed." Ditch weed?!?!?!? That sounds like a stoner pissed he got some bad smoke, not a director of a study group. actually it sounds like the "study group' doesnt have enough information to even be examining the substance under question particularly if it cannot differentiate between potency and strains, and is 'experimenting' with what most users wouldnt touch ever... but go ahead and trust that the government is REALLY supporting such research... looks alot more like they are supporting a "strawman" so they can CLAIM they've actually done the "real research" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
words only have the power you give them.. I tend to laugh and walk off when someone gets offended by the PROPER use of a 'politically incorrect' word.. it is amazing the amount of ignorance that the PC crowd exhibits, when a few min with dictionary would enlighten their minds if not their attitude. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Let's not get carried away. Porn had it's heyday when it made VHS and VCRs. Since then its influence has been grossly overstated. DARPA and the NSF made the internet. you are completely wrong about VHS/VCR.. Porn is bigger than ever and employs/entertains more people than ever before.. yes DARPA 'created' the Internet, but Porn paid for and paved its advancement and development. Porn made alot of 'business investments' possible because the risk/return was so low/high. ALOT of developing technologies came directly out of the desire for porn. I know 4 (now Major) hosting companies that started out as 'simple' Porn sites and expanded to 'acceptable business' soley because of the income generated by the Porn sites they started as.. Without Porn a good portion of the poeple who NOW use the internet would have never learned how to use a computer in the first place and the growth of the internet would have been significantly slower the real answer is simple and has been stated above: YOU control what your children see and do.. dont expect technology to nanny your kids for you... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

so how long is your list of dropzone's your 'not scared of' but wont jump at now??? it has been an ugly week.. but if you pay attention it will illustrate a truth about skydiving to you... but in the end i agree with flyangel.. one less person in the way to manifest.. and one less unaware canopy pilot to worry about as well.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Woman denied right to use marijuana as life-saving medication

ah and you expect the government to fund research that might show its been on an unjustified witch hunt??? yea right.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
I still can't think of someone that got that far in that short amount of time, tunnel or not. Maybe that Russian camerawoman who films the skysurfer. Might want to look at some other disciplines... its been done.. and faster... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

She flies faster than you.. and "the sound of her wings" is one awaiting everyone.. welcome to life, I'm sorry you blame Eloy for waking you up to it.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well there is a fine example.. i'd imagine (i could be wrong) that EVERY GOLDEN KNIGHT did more this year to promote skydiving (both in and out of the military) this year than she did... but i guess that doesnt count either since it IS 'their job' but ultimately it is a popularity contest, nothing to do with promoting the sport... so the hot, female skydiver who's been jumping at DZ's all over the world got the most votes... imagine that... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i'm not sure that having time and luxury to dedicate yourself to a sport (or anything for that matter) really qualifies you for "Anything" of the Year... given the lack of other responsibilities to interfere with training time, its not exactly difficult to enter the upper echelon of anything. (anything that can be taught at least) just takes time, money and drive... most people have at least one.. not everyone has all three... i'll admit to being jealous of the time and leasure to pursue whatever you desire.. but I dont think the 'accomplishment' itself is that great, given the ability (in time and funding) to focus on what you want... I'd be more impressed by someone who did the same while working 40hours a week and training only on weekends... IMO if a sport is nominating someone as "XXXX of the Year" they should have done something significant for the ENTIRE SPORT.... but really.. its just another silly award... does it really matter that much in the end? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I think the main fact he is considering is that he's seen enough carnage. Most of us probably have. and staying in the house, with the blinds pulled and the TV off, is the only thing that will ever change that... IF you are lucky... this first body i ever saw was at my house in my entryway....lesson learned: you are never 'safe' anywhere.. get used to the idea, you will sleep better in the long run ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

"to bad ignorance isnt painful" as that is a perfectly valid decision, but one made emotionally and largely ignorant of the facts... Eloy is as safe (or safer) than any dropzone on the planet. period. Fatalities happen every where, every day for a variety of reasons.. might as well use your 'logic' here to state "why i will never again step outside my house" ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I used to say it was like hitting CTRL-ALT-DELETE on a computer. It rebooted me from life's little quirks. Those life challenges seemed like major hurtles until breathing that fresh air of altitude and coming down refreshed. Come to think of it, over 2,500 jumps later I -still- feel like this.

No desires unless satisfaction for said desires exist
Zenister replied to steveorino's topic in Speakers Corner
already shot that one down by the inclusion of 'absolute existence' you dont need an example (birds above, i was trying to keep it to 'actual' but....) if the capability WILL exist at some point in the future, but is not yet realized.. using that slant you can say observation of the moon was the 'satisfaction' that it could be done. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
Problems I have with The Sacrifice and symbolism in christianity.
Zenister replied to jakee's topic in Speakers Corner
no, but I do equate Western interpretations of those writings. "Satan" (as an individual entity) is a relatively new interpretation... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
No desires unless satisfaction for said desires exist
Zenister replied to steveorino's topic in Speakers Corner
that is 'absolute existence' the difference between theory and practice.. how about this then.. Man desires to be immortal, yet nothing can be proven to be immortal... doesnt prevent the Desire.. in fact its the cornerstone of many religions (including the Christian) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
No desires unless satisfaction for said desires exist
Zenister replied to steveorino's topic in Speakers Corner
false. example: Man desired to fly long before any means to satisfy that desire existed. (ofc you can always get into 'absolute existence' which echo's wendy's point, but for the statement to be True, Man could not have desired to Fly until he developed the ability to fulfill that desire..) ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

actually that is fairly normal, at least for streaking at large 'public' events where you can expect to be grappled how about 'let him go'? identify him and pick him up at home? not exactly a high priority offense.. and tasers HAVE killed. shows a basic lack of training and awareness on the part of the officer, unfortunately the trend seems to be more common of late... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
