my day just was... sometimes it seems like a long grey road and i ran out of paints quite sometime ago... but its snowing on the mountain so i may head that way this weekend, something needs to break the grey skies in my mind...of course there are things up there id rather not look at to deeply either i think to much for my own good...someone should just tell me what to do sometimes... my last commander. He was an aviation brigade commader before working for the TSM shop...i should add he said per combat flight hour, and i think he was averaging it across the unit.. and i DO know how much time i used to spend on the FCR on the longbows..my overtime alone at Hood paid for my AFF... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well if you made it thru marine boot you'll probably make it thru WOC, the only difference is they really want you to quit there so you do the most inane things under the sun..but after you graduate you may want to think about something other than apaches, that is if you like to fly..apache pilots get the fewest flight hours of all the rotor pilots because of the maintenance time (nearly 100 hours per flight hour) and mujie is right, army aviation is really frickin spoiled… might as well join the chair force.. on the plus side once your done you can get a job flying skiers and snowboarders into the back country for some really cool shit... zen actually got a recruiter relieved for outright lying about the flight school options for army enlistment..still it worked into a good job and i still get to play with the longbows... good luck ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

uh not from small arms fire they couldnt..lack of judgement all around, but the pilots are the ones who pulled the trigger without waiting for clearance...and violated the ROE.. there is a reason why the military uses rules of engagement, its to prevent incidents such as this, even when those rules sacrifice some level of saftey for the 'good guys' they screwed up even if they arent the only ones ones who did... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i must add the above post applies to much of the pacific northwest as well... but it rains all the time and then your cable goes out so you have to play monopoly in the dark when the blizzards cut off the power...the coffee is really bad and the beer is even worse... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

its really not such a big deal...when my friend Jake died we burned his body in his boat.. even when the wind shifted you could only smell canvas, wood and weed..(there was a good bit in the pyre) and all the surfers there thought of the smoke as a last blessing.. we painted his board black and let it go on the next sunrise.. i miss jake.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i looked into this once, its not really an option, but there is a guy in NV (i think have to find the link) who will shoot your remains into the atmosphere high enough that you'll burn up on reentry... since the viking funeral or pyre on the mountain are illegal (illegal disposal of human remains) i may go that route..although with the money some of my friends would get from insurance they'd better be willing to break a few laws for my last wishes.. of course you could just come to New Orleans and see me play :) see attachment ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

other than the stereotypical european need(j) to regulate and control the individual is there any real reason for this? have there been a number of freefly incidents that i havent heard of? some of the FFers at eloy who just returned from there were rather amazed at this level of control, particularly since potentially more dangerous things like landing patterns and pull altitudes were not being looked at... local skygods causally swooping running planes and spectators was mentioned as an example.. caveat that i was not there this is what i was told and why i am asking.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
