the test engineer in me thought this as i was reading your problem. The way i'd test it would be to 'lock in' my weapon and ensure adequate time for the barrel to cool between shots. i think you'd be quite amazed at the difference between freeflying with no rig and freeflying with 2 200sq+ parachutes on your back.. I'll wager the size of student and beginner rigs will heavily increase the 'frustration factor' of someone who has trained to 'tunnel rat' level of flying prior to skydiving at all, possibly increasing the pressure and desire to downsize, particularly if the size of their gear prevents them from flying with the 'more experience SKYDIVERS' that are their peers in the tunnel. will also be a serious factor.. skydivers develop their own internal clocks, clocks that can be dangerous as you transition from one 'slower' discipline to a 'faster' one... it happens at all levels even those with 1000s of skydives who 'forget' they got out at 8k this time... (search for incidents if you doubt) take that factor and imagine what happens to someone with 100s of HOURS in a tunnel in longer and longer increments (5-15 min even) as their skills increased and add the planet coming at you in the next 60 seconds..(...but i'm only 1/3 of the way thru my 'routine'..hmm maybe i can get 2 more cartwheels in...). With the increase use or interest in using cameras in the US, this is a relevant topic to discuss. A few dozen were installed in the bad parts of San Francisco, but apparently have such poor resolution that they accomplish little besides face dressing, as well as intruding into the lives of those who do nothing wrong. you get what you pay for... Restraint and Control techniques work wonderfully when practiced often, kept current and applied correctly. against a PCP enraged linebacker... maybe not, but against an untrained college kid who the officers ALREADY HAD HANDS ON??? I know a 78 year old 90lb female who can subdue and restrain damn near anyone who lays a hand on her...ofc she is at the far end of the training scale (training and gardening is all she does anymore) but the level of professionalism shown lately by multiple videos all across the country indicates that such training is neglected in favor of 'just taze his ass'.. those in this vid are Campus Security Guards, chances of them having any real training in Restraint and Control beyond their 2 week course at the Academy is slim and none.. Does your office have training and currency requirements for Restraint and Control? I'll bet not.. Many officers pursue such training on their own (many because they recognize their training is woefully inadequate and wont be funded) but that should not be the norm.. unfortunately it seems to be with most LEO's i've asked.... why? it costs to much.. managers and accountants dont want to spend the money when they can issue you a tazer and rely on your firearms training and currency requirements instead. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
