i say do it...the only voice he is likely to listen to is the one that pays his checks... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

i think everyone should be given a bye on this one until "mr" Rome decides to start posting here to apologize.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

actually i already did. i spend alot of time driving and used to listen to him quite a bit..i sent him a relatively nicely worded email explaining that due to his blatantly false statements about Roger's school and SDC that no media platform in my presence will have his voice or image on it ever again, and that when i change the channel on someone elses radio/television i will certainly take the time to explain my reasons for doing so and encourage everyone i know who listens now or would consider advertising on his show not to continue to support such an ignorant ass i realize it wont make a damn bit of difference but i'll turn a few ears away from him at least.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

someone really should press charges, there are so many outright lies and distortions in that drivel there has got to be a lawsuit available..if nothing else make the arrogant twit retract his statement publicly ON AIR, explaining exactly how little research they do, before spouting such ignorant opinions. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

uh no.. that allows you to "buy back" your waiver of responsibility. You still have to sign the paper work to show you understand the risks. The dropzone just has enough faith in their instructors and systems to take your extra money if you feel you might need to sue afterwards.. maybe B2 can get someone from SDAZ to explain it better, i dont think i did it that well ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well when/if you get the sailboat out here i'd love to play crew..used to run regattas in with my fencing coach in his J22..of course there was nothing else on the lake in its class so we would play pirate as the other boats finished...i can remember swinging across on to a (rather drunk) captains boat with a saber clenched in my teeth and demanding "your bread, your beer and your bikini top!" only took it out on the gulf once with him but i LOVED stormy days on the lake..with a good tail wind that boat would literally fly across the water... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

lol.. uh.. no once i'm up to flying one of those i'll just get one proportional to my size..there are a few 135's 120s floating around, but as much fun as it looks i'm not ready for that yet... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Actually , it might be. No other distractions, a small group of jumpers at the dz and plenty of 1 on 1 time with Omar or whomever you go with. Jumps start early and end around 2-3 pm and the rest is chill time. There is a lot to be said for the off season. Oh yeah, tue and weds the dz is closed. exactly! thats how i managed to get lots of good coach jumps and some really cool 'play' jumps with the 'big boys' in too..once they knew what i could handle they put me a slot the was safe but still challenging... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

once you get your standard drivers license you can drive anything from a geo metro to a testerossa once you get your motorcycle permit you can drive a tiny 110 or the 600 you cant lift if it falls over once you get your CDL you can drive a dump truck or the 3 trailers mammoths not positive on the last, i'm not a trucker to make the same analogy to skydiving you would have to divide the classes by rounds squares ellipticals crossbraced etc.. NOT by wingloading... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I do feel that people should be able to do as they please, and that there is a problem with people flying wings they dont know how to fly.. however i feel that trying to protect people from themselves and their own stupidity is a road we should not go farther down.. offer the options for training, encourage them to seek knowledge as the smart thing to do, and shake your head when they ignore you and pound in anyway.. i never had any problems finding training or getting expert advice when i wanted it..the difference is i wanted it..if others dont oh well in skydiving ignorance IS painful.. the adage applies "you can lead a horse to water...." ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

we do however follow the "licensed adults can do anything rule" as it applies to driving etc and that is what i wish to see continue, with the ability & opportunities to seek further training to help you survive your personal choices. are you petitioning the state DMV for a HP/ # hours driving regulation? why not? it could save thousands of lives.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

cant say i like the way you set your poll up it reads to much like exit polls where they are trying to steer you to the answer they want to hear, but i guess thats a problem with polls in general.. so i voted education without regulation. 280 jumps 1.1 on my 190 1.36 on the 150s (i have been and will be jumping mostly) obviously i'm pretty close to the guidlines proposed, however that is a personal choice and once i feel comfortable with the 150 (and can consistantly perform the tasks BillV recommends) i'll be going to a 135. No matter if thats 50 or 500 jumps from now.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

FAST! andy jumped it when it showed up because Scott had been working all day..its HUGE for andy and he still put it all the way down the hill....i missed scott jumping it on Sat but he said it was FAST...didnt hear anything amiss with the openings at all, but you'd have to ask them... once the newness has worn off (and i'm current on a 150 again) i'm going to see if he'll let me try it...just to see the difference a crossbraced makes..even though i wont be loading it anywhere near optimal... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I read fast enough (to comprehension) that i go thru every sentence and make sure there isnt anything that seems really out of sync to me. Now if i'm just signing the same waiver i read last year well.... i prefer the short and to the point waivers i've encountered, but they seem few and far between, the unfortunate effect of an overly litigious society.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

360-893-3483 oh yeah i thought i remembered seeing a picture of you in a (your?) sail boat somewhere. so... how yo dooin? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

well since JT isnt "flying camera" yet, ballsey boy took his high dollar digital out and snapped a few shots with it in his hands.. and one of them (at least) actually turned out pretty cool.

kids are not legally responsible for themselves..its not like were talking about 16 year olds.. the majority of skydivers are 18+ at which point they are legally allowed to make decisions about their own future..(with the exception of alcohol laws, but i think the US (18 v 21) stance on that is also arsine however thats another topic) help people survive by teaching them about the dangers involved. if they are so sheltered that death isnt a reality for them already then they probably shouldnt be skydiving in the first place, however once they are 18 (21) the risks they decide to take (should be) entirely up to them i want to keep the sport as free as it is, there are other means of making it less deadly. the number of skydives and skydivers is going up, of course the numbers of injuries/fatalities should remain proportional, however one years worth of numbers is simply not enough to be drawing conclusions from. How do you prove it simply wasnt the high end of the curve? there are so many more factors to be weighed in looking at any fatality that pointing at simple wingloading is short sighted, particularly when you are doing so as an argument for greater restrictions. are you ok with the same number of fatalities when they have a higher average jump number? i agree giving everyone the best chance to jump again tomarrow is important, but IMO we should be striving to do that thru training, not regulation. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

grrr thats going to put wingsuit flight farther out, as i'll need ANOTHER 150 to begin to play...well i guess i could fly my mirage with the sabre 190, but its wont have a cypress pretty soon... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

I never understood why anyone would want to pay several million dollars for a house 12 feet away from your neighbors equally over priced home..... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
