you could always tell the noobs by who dropped their beer when the jets cracked by overhead...the dorms on PAFB are right in line with the runway. nothing like a C5 passing overhead at less than 500 feet to rock you to sleep at night..... that sound? thats what freedom sounds like... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

this weeks lesson. it was the best of times, it was the worst of times...... be careful what you wish for, you may get it. yes indeed i'm leaving the PNW for the eternal blueskies of Arizona. par for my course the timing is simply 'lovely' clear blue skies in WA, 76 deg, an ongoing fight for the DZ that adopted me here and an unexpected reason to linger awhile longer... for clear blues skies 108 and climbing in PHX, but the endless ladder to the sky right south at Eloy, the only place i've really felt at home in a long time. and a pixie who owes me a date life as always continues to be strange and wonderful, sometimes i really wonder if i'm making a mistake following the way the wind blows me? or if i should cutaway to pursue another more difficult and less financially secure course that gives me more (total)personal say in what, where, when and why? decisions decisions...and no real answers to all the questions i'd like to ask before making them, if i even knew who/how to ask in the first place.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

That goes back to my littebug point. If those behaviors were accepted, they were committed. Yeah, if the parents tolerate that stuff, it will happen. Young people rise to their expectations. LOL! The common nickname for Rosary High in Orange County is "The Whorehouse on the Hill". During my one year there, I could see that the reputation was well deserved. I'd like to take this moment to thank the catholic church for its repressive, controlling school system, they did a fine job of creating an enviroment that greatly enhanced my educational experiences while attending the public school down the street. the 'fashion show' and the cliches it creates takes place with or without uniforms, its just more subtle. IME with a variety of schools religious, secular, I learned far more from the DOD schools in Europe, the social controls in catholic school created more strife than learning and the 'pure' public schools standard of teaching was far to low to maintain the interest of advanced students... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -

always, it was a part of the cultural experience, beyond just the simple greetings, you really meet far more people and a better look at how life really is there, if you make a point to try to integrate as well as you can....If I'm going to be anywhere more than a few days i always make an effort to learn, expecting everyone to pander to you in a foreign land is arrogance, unfortunately we're now indoctrinating our immigrants with the same mentality.. "i'm an American now, since Americans dont learn other languages i'll bitch until they comply with me, by putting everything in Spanish..." ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. -
we do need a "none (neither really) of these choices is acceptable" vote.... i'd love to participate more completely in the process, but i have issues with questions like "hang you or shot you,, but ya gotta pick one or the other" options... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

but you assume the answers whiloe admitting lack of knowedge? because your book says so, and since you believe your book to be "the divinely inspired word of God" it is never wrong? seems ignorant to me, If i wish to understand things man cannot teach me, i dont look to man (or his literature) for answers. Everything that is real will one day be understood. Much of what "is beyond comprehension" to the layman is understood by those in their specific scientific field, and can be demonstrated by anyone how takes the time to educate themselves in that field. None of the things you claim are "beyond comprehension" from the Bible can be proven or demonstrated on any level. As a moral guide the bible is a good start for most raised in western cultures. As any sort of factual source to explain the physical universe, it is greatly lacking. It only has any semblance of consistency at all due to careful and continual editing and reinterpretation. I can claim rain is God’s tears and the wind is his breath, but that doesn’t make it anymore true than the earth being formed in 7 days or that the universe exists on the back of elephants standing on turtles… I would LOVE to see the Christian reaction if they were told their children were going to be taught ALL the world’s creation myths on an equal basis in public schools. Some of them read quite a bit better than your biblical accounts, so you might lose a few more followers to the more beautiful, less culturally oppressive mythos. Most Christians get livid when you point out the basis for their belief is simply a myth, like any other, with the same level of veracity…. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

part of that is even the people and organizations that recognized the problem painted it as a law enforement issue and not a military one. Which kept(and still keeps) a numbers of assets unused ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

you do realize your religion does a whole lot of illogical supposition to make its creation myths fit into verifiable natural 'laws'? sorry 7 days is 7 days. (oh wait you've got God's footnotes too right? ) other wise why do you only rest one day of the week? Trying to say that "oh this is figurative but this is literal" are nice justifications, but your still propping up your myths with your person beliefs, all with no factual basis whatsoever. A good bit of the catholic church has been devoted to philosophical explanations for all the biblical holes for hundreds of years.. Supposition is a lovely philosophical method but is no substitute for verifiable evidence based on factual observations. Would you jump a parachute built on supposition (from a text with numerous errors and contradictions about the real world), and not on tested, scientifically verified design? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

it is ignorant arrogance to assuming everyone lacks conviction in their belief simply, because you believe differently. I know lots of atheists (many whom have shaken death's hand and said "no thanks not yet") who would/will do no such thing. I also have met several atheists getting shot at in 'foxholes' right now in Iraq, they arent thinking of converting anytime soon.... never underestimate another’s strength or convictions with only the strength of your belief as basis. I'm not about to blow myself up for Allah, but quite a number of Islamic radicals believe God wants just that from them. I somehow doubt they suddenly think of Yahweh when they go.... ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

"Hung Wei Lo" is the internet favorite.. My name really is Ransome, but it became annoying enough explaining it repeatedly that i eventually adopted Randy for most enviroments.. my close friends still call me Ransome, or Rans or "hey asshole" depending.. unique names are cool IMO, all single males have been specifically forbidden from marrying any one named Cindy or Judy as there are already 4 of each in the extended family.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

but your not interested in information so much as propaganda. If it doesnt fit into the parameters described by the text you’ve adopted as ‘law’ it must be incorrect. No matter how often your source is shown to be false in relation to the physical world. the difference is your philosophy has no 'standard of evidence' or 'proof' that can be agreed on. Science requires both, repeatable demonstrable processes to back its larger assertions. you may believe the universe appeared according to your literature, however you have to make alot of supposition and creative twists to fill the holes in the source for your belief (its not a theory). Of course when your working with the unedited, undiluted word of God....your allowed to make your own rules... Dont pretend you have evidence for anything you believe. You don’t, that is what makes it a belief. Believe the earth is flat, or the stars are holes in crystalline spheres, and the universe exists (was created) just to save your soul, but don’t teach it next to biology, chemistry and physics as if its credible fact. However we can pick your beliefs apart in philosophy and theology all day if you wish. Scientists adapt their theories to fit changing observations and contradictory evidence. Believers adapt their observations to fit their dogma. One starts with questions, the other assumes all the answers.. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

Tell me, do you habitually log 20-way skydives with only 12 skydivers participating? No. what exactly are you implying that i'm not supposed to be offended by? are you a habitual liar? or just have trouble reading fine print? ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

thats a cumulative total, not the same as saying the vehicle has 10,000 miles in the last year, (when last year has been predefined as oct-oct and so the 2000 mile trip in dec is this year. misleading? yes if your not paying attention. (most are not) intentionally false? not quite. common practice when using statistics to justify political agendas? absolutely. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.

not to split a fine hair, but is it really "intentionally false" to define your interval in a manner that gives the results you wish? misleading perhaps, but anyone who read the fine print would see what was really being said.. not much different in the way voting regions are continually redefined to one political advantage or another.. i dont see how anyone can really be appalled at what has been 'par for the course' in political dealing for the last 100 years or so... edit: The numbers for the "War on Drugs" have been just as (perhaps more so) massaged by the government to garner support for that position as well. Noone really seems to be up in arms about it, or the rights that have been relinquished using that 'data' as justification. ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
