Swoop technic - Rear raiser & Toggels use
ianmdrennan replied to yoavr's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
It was on PD's website. I think they may have taken it down while they're working on the new PD Zone. I'm sure it'll be back up soon. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

Personally I was thinking more of a front flip. Back flip would be really 'interesting' -

I think Jim and the boy's are far further ahead in the figuring out process than I am. I'd try and use momentum to help me around though It's gonna be cool to see what comes out of this event. Wish I could make it...nuts.... Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -

So what's the best way to get up to that neck of the woods driving from Atlanta? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Damn right it isn't music. When it's more than 4 notes played on a keyboard with a synth drum background it MIGHT start moving to the music category Can we send you back? So far I think we're all pretty unsatisfied with the contents There's gotta be a return to sender somewhere for you. Want me to bring a Dr Zeuss book from the kids section at the local library for you? If you ask nicely Kelly might read it to you

I know tubling through your risers over the ground is one of your favorite passtimes. I, however, like standing up my landings Performance Designs Factory Team -

I've been trying to figure out the logistics of it for a few months too. I figured I wasn't the only one thinking about it, which definitely is true after Jim's post. So now the question becomes...we all know it's coming - who's gonna do it first I wish we had a freaking pond at SDA. This is one thing I won't be learning over the ground Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
If the canopy is doing that all the time then, even with perfect trim, there could be another construction defect that's causing the issue. I'd suggest contacting PD - they probably have a set of tests you can do to check it's the canopy and not something else (or send it back to them for testing). Either way I know they'll be more than happy to help you resolve the issue. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Unfortunately it's not that easy. Take a look at your current slider - see how the grommets are inside the slider fabric? When you make a removable one the grommets are on the outside so you lose effective material on the slider because of air spillage, etc. For your application I believe slocks are the way to go. IMO: 1 hand pros: Both hands on handles. 1 hand cons: Possible (quite easy actually) to fire reserve into a undetached main. Or if hand slips off cutaway handle and full cutaway doesn't occur, the same may result due to the right, left punch combo. 2 hand on a handle pros - opposite of con's above. 2 hand on a handle cons - opposite of pro's above. I do the 1 hand on each handle method, and practice appropriately for it. Either is good, but one thing is clear - pick a method and stick with it, AND be prepared for the scenarios either can produce. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Hey Stu, Our team shoots for mid to low 160 avg speeds to multiple orientation FF speeds. 167 is high, anything above that is excessively high for anything other than large HD formations IMO. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
