Heh Mr Hankey was fun but I only got to jump outta him once (used him for Tandems). We got the Wendelator plane. We had fun training and doing goofy exits we couldn't normally do from the cessna's (must first 200 or so jumps were from Cessna's so they dont bother me). Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Ray, while I agree that any system can pop you I have over 300 jumps on my RDS system, almost all at terminal. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

West Tennessee Skydiving Memorial Weekend Boogie

Fixed spelling of my name Performance Designs Factory Team -
I agree - seems to be about a 50/50 split each year. Half intentional low turns into the dirt and half due to panic and/or bad planning. Of course, as usual we're talking about fatalities. If good INJURY data was available I'd figure we'd have a very high portion of the group in the small canopy/experience bracket. But that's heresay (or general observations) I suppose at this point cause there's no real data to back it up. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Terrified of you guys. I heard a few mountain goat rumors and now I'm scared shitless to turn my back on you sheep herders! Performance Designs Factory Team

Sounds like a David Copperfield trick to me!!! It's like hiding a Boeing 747 in a matchbox

Yep. I HATED the first 30-40 minutes. The acting was amongst the worst I've seen in a LONG time. The really weird thing is that it all of a sudden got better...a LOT better and ended up being, IMO one of the best Star Wars movies made. Weird eh. I walked out of the theater very happy

I'll be there. Mostly be practicing for the swoop comp but I'll most likely squeeze in a fun freefly load or 2. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Triple Crown of Freestyle Swooping...

We've covered this you dolt I'd love to be there but it's the Skydive Atlanta Thomaston Boogie that weekend (which I have commitments at) and it's also Katie and I's 6 year anniversary -
Watch out for that bastard...I heard he bought noodles that bend at least 3 feet if a canopy other than his comes near it. Cheating bastard Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

You may have to compete in that...practice it anyway, it's doable. WTF....why am I trying to help you beat me!! Blues Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

The CPC. You DO NOT need a cross braced canopy to win (certainly not in a regional event - the finals maybe). If you're going in to your first season of competing to 'look cool' or 'thinking you're going to win' that's the wrong attitude. Nothing wrong with shooting high, but go in with an expectation to learn and be a better pilot. Anyway, while I believe you have to have 500 HP jumps to compete in the CPC standard class, there's nothing stopping you setting up some courses at your DZ to practice on though. Good way to learn. Stay safe, practice hard. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Just curious how (seeing as blades were 5 ft - unless I misunderstood)? Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Southeast CPC Meet #2 - West Tennessee

Ok folks - who's going? I'll be there and Shitmil will probably be there if the weather's good for sunday. I assume the Mullins lads will compete on their home turf. Anyone else? See you there! Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team -
Agreed. Even with just the slider on (d-bag still attached to main) it adds a few minutes to the packjob. It's also another thing to 'get wrong'. I also agree with riggerbob - slider stops are a far better way to go generally. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

So did you guys judge verticalling out of the course during a speed run and the zone accuracy gates? Obviously for distance it doesn't matter cause you only have to eclipse the first gate. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

Between $225 and $250 from Joe Bennett right now (guy who did mine). Awesome system, comes with metal rings and a center point cutaway system. I know the Mirage Team (Hans P, Dave H, Kevin L, Jason E) are using them, as are Chuck Blue, Paul Roussow (on his velo), Joe B and myself (sure there are a few more out there too). Grant, I posted some pics, etc a while back on canopy piloting's website. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team

I think the information is getting out there. It appears to be gaining momentum. More and more Scott Miller/Ian Bobo/Jim Slaton, etc classes are getting booked across the country. To me, it's a good thing. In a sense I think we're admitting to ourselves that we've neglected this too long. I hope so!
