Just which "old map of the landing zone" are you referring to? The FBI landing zone map on Sluggo's web page is the only one in existence that I am aware of. And just where and to whom did the co-pilot claim that the airliner passed east of Portland?
-
Blevins, Whether you realize it or not, you are basically stating that anyone who doesn't believe that KC was Cooper is suppose to present another named suspect, presumably one that they have spent 18 months worth of weekends investigating, and maybe one they have written a book on. As I have stated any number of times before, if and when the identity of Cooper is discovered, his name will probably be one that has never appeared on this thread or been heard of by any posters on this thread.
-
Neither. Georger just hates me.
-
Banning BK is the only way to stop his nonsense. Otherwise, BK, along with Blevins, will be on this thread as long as it exists.
-
Blevins never had any intention of leaving. Prior to his most recent "leaving", and not counting his suspension, he had "left" about five times or more. With one single exception, he was back the next day. The exception was when he didn't post for two days. This Cooper thread is the best thing that ever happened to Blevins. He can get in his average of three lengthy posts per day (each listing all 25 KC points) and then claim to the main stream media that he is a genuine Cooper investigator, author, media mogul, and knows more about the Cooper matter than the FBI. In the meantime, Blevins will continue to attack the non-believing infidels on this thread who, against all logic, refuse to see the light that proves to any sane person that KC was DB Cooper.
-
Knoss, Even with a certificate from you, the "fact" is still BS.

Cooper would walk down the stairs relatively slowly until they lowered enough for him to make a clean jump without hitting the fuselage or the stairs. So it was an interaction between Cooper, the stairs, and the aerodynamics of the stairs. The skydivers went through the stair opening (remember the stairs had been removed) head first. They were the sole cause of the pressure and sound changes that 377 mentioned.
-
In the video of the southeast Asia jumps, if my memory is correct, the stairs did not appear to move as the jumpers came out. To me, this suggests that the stairs were "locked" in a down position. This in turn suggests that the southeast Asia 727 aircraft used stairs that had been specifically modified for those operations. That it, they were not "line" 727 passenger aircraft. well if the stairs were not in the locked position, would this video be plausible for showing there was probably no oscillation after jumping, the door didn't reach the closing point pushing air inside? This means to me, as an aeronautical engineer, that this specific 727 was going somewhat slower than the hijacked airliner was when Cooper jumped. In the FBI tests, the stairs went back up enough to give the members of the hijacked airliner crew who were on board the same impressions that they got when Cooper jumped. As 377 has discussed several times previously, when he was on board a DC-9 (which has aft stairs similiar to the 727) with a load of skydivers, he could tell when each skydiver went through the stair opening (the stairs had been removed for the skydivers) even if he wasn't looking at them. I'll stick with the stairs slamming back against the fuselage at the speeds the hijacked airliner was traveling (about 170 KIAS) when Cooper jumped.

Cooper did not mention Reno as a place he wanted to go. He only agreed to the crew's suggestion of a fuel stop in Reno. And Cooper had no knowledge of any kind on the flight path the airliner used between V-23 and across the mountains to Reno.

I think there was a post on this subject within the past month of so. And I believe it said that Tom Kaye measured the length of the missing shroud lines and that it was about the equivalent of two shroud lines (maybe three). Each shroud line on the reserve from the riser to the skirt of the canopy is about 15 feet long. So that would be about 30 (maybe 45) feet of shroud line used by Cooper. In reality, that isn't an excessive amount for just tying the money bag to the harness or his body.

This could mean a lot of different things, but what it tells me is that the caller wasn't a psycho or a garden-variety nut. Maybe he was concerned about actually hurting someone by attempting to open the door. You could extrapolate that to mean he wanted the money...but not necessarily to kill people or injure them in order to get it. According to Ralph Himmelsbach, he thinks the bomb was a fake, too. Blevins, This could indeed mean a lot of different things. But maybe the Mysterious Caller was mainly concerned with how opening the stairs would affect HIM. And remember that Cooper wanted to take off with the stairs opened and that there were only two people in the cabin at that time.

Robert99 says in part: Blevins writes: Look, that is a legit question and I'll try to answer. We've always wondered why either Geestman or his family haven't at least made a phone call to the office. Remember...we gave Bernie six copies of the book and I left him a number of business cards, and added a few more to the book order. His garbage move, where he called up his sister and asked her to retract all her testimony (this happened AFTER History Channel talked to him initially and just BEFORE they contacted Dawn) made us suspicious. No, I am not rich. My family? Well, that's a different story I won't discuss in public. But the truth is that Geestman could easily stop us from publishing the book simply by contacting us and being reasonable. For example...answering a few questions for us, and if his answers check out, then I would pull the book. I don't WANT to name him if he isn't guility, but the truth is he LOOKS guilty because of his lies, his refusal to answer those questions, and his attempts to force his sister to change her story. (She didn't) RN99 replies: Two questions: 1. Why do you think Geestman or anyone else has to prove the time of day to you? You are the one making the allegations and you admit you cannot prove anything. 2. Why did you give Geestman six copies of your book? Do you think he is going to pass them to family and friends? How many of those copies do you think are in a lawyer's office at this point? Blevins writes: Put yourself in our shoes. What would you do? And the more time that goes by that they do nothing, the guiltier he looks. Helen Jones and her daughter are (IMHO) extremely reliable witnesses. Their reputations are solid, and both are lifelong residents of the Sumner, WA area. Jones was actually pissed off at me at first for even hinting that KC could be the hijacker. Later, she was able to offer up pretty good evidence. All I know is that the only one I've caught lying is Geestman, and all of those lies somehow relate to his possible involvement. His ex wife did a lot of dodging and weaving with me, too. So I keep going with the present theory until something changes. I am still completely open to the idea that KC was not the hijacker and that Blast is simply a record of incredible coincidences. Forget the title of the book. That wasn't MY idea, it was Porteous', and I was against using the phrase '...the True Story of...' RN99 replies: Is there something in Washington State law that requires people to answer your questions honestly (except when under oath in legal proceedings) even when the subject is none of your business in the first place? You have been doing plenty of "ducking and weaving" in your answers above. So you are "still completely open to the idea that KC was not the hijacker"? Really? That statement makes Knoss seem mentally compentent. Blevins writes: I only ask that people who suggest other suspects offer up a minimum of evidence, or things that can be legitimately explored. I did. Why can't they? Seems fair. RN99 replies: You seem to feel that everyone on this thread must name a suspect and then try to justify naming that individual. It is very unlikely that the real name of D. B. Cooper is known, or will be known, to anyone on this thread until he is found. It comes down to just being a case of people trying to sell books by naming individuals with the qualification "maybe he was Cooper, maybe he wasn't Cooper, who the hell knows".
-
Blevins, You are making an extremely bad assumption when you assume that the lack of legal action against you means that you are correct and everyone else is wrong. Are you sure that you have enough assets to make a legal action worthwhile? My guess is that if KC were still alive and sued you, that he would walk out of the courthouse door with the title to your beloved Subaru, the title to any other real property that you may own, and Gayla would probably be on his arm.

Please remember that the parachute that took decades to find was found buried in the ground as a road was being graded. The immediate area around Tena Bar is indeed flat and not more than about 25 feet above sea level at the highest point. It should be noted that the NW Lower River Road, which forms the east boundary of the Fazio's dairy farm, is actually built on top of a levee. Thus, with one single exception, the water east of that road including Vancouver Lake water enters the Columbia River several miles further downstream. The exception is a small ditch which passes under that road just a few feet from the Fazio's driveway. And that ditch will not be a major factor in water movement onto the Fazio's property except maybe during some extreme flooding. South (upstream) of the Fazio's property is a brushy area that would be a very good candidate for a "no find" location for a body. Also, Caterpillar Island would be another good candidate but I think it can be ruled out based solely on fluid flow dynamics and the location on Tena Bar where the money was found. As I understand it, your reference to Sluggo's flight path maps is to the ones produced by the FBI and provided to Sluggo. The times on those maps are not to be taken at face value. The flight path depicted is also not very likely. Specifically, the flight path presented as roughly a half circle around the west side of Portland is not realistic at all. It simply would not have been flown that way. If the airliner had intended to bypass Portland on the west side, and it apparently did, then the whole segment from a point near the Mayfield Intersection to a point where the airliner would rejoin V-23 south of Portland would have been flown as a straight line. Nothing beats planning ahead on a flight. And if the above segment was flown as described, then depending on the exact flight path, the airliner could have passed directly over Tena Bar. The times given on the Seattle and Portland ATC transcripts are highly reliable. They are much more trustworthy than any times in the remaining paperwork. The money apparently came from a single bank. I would not consider the mention of multiple banks as being of any importance since it was a casual mention and nobody had all the exact information anyway. It does take a period of time afterwards to get all the ducks lined up after a matter such as that.

what I find puzzling is that fact that most think he died that evening, ok, but why have we found chutes from years before Cooper, and yet nobody has been able to find Coopers chute? how far off from the "probable" jump site could his body be? is there only two options, one he landed in the river, bloop, bloop, two he survived? Sailshaw and Mrshutter45, On the Cooper matter, I am surprised that the FBI (apparently) didn't use the people available at Boeing more in the determination of a probably jump zone, flight track, etc.. My understanding is that the FBI's probable jump zone was estimated, even before the airliner landed in Reno, by NWA personnel in Minneapolis. Based on the condition of the money at Tena Bar, I would suspect that Cooper landed relatively close to where it was found. On the matter of the parachutes, it should be remembered that the ones found were out of their packs. If Cooper did a no-pull straight in, he would be in an area of about 15 square feet, along with the unopened parachutes, money bag, etc.. It would be very difficult to find him if he landed in brush in a relatively urban location. And the winter rain, cold, and snow would also help to conceal him. Also, the fact that the Seattle ATC transcripts have been heavily edited, I would suspect that some people had a reason to erase the incriminating evidence that suggests they handled the case investigation very poorly.

Blevins, Regardless of how much sauce you put on spaghetti, it is still spaghetti. Or to translate from the Greek: KC is still KC and he is not, and never will be, D. B. Cooper.

Blevins writes: I've read posts ad infinitum by people like Georger and others who say I have nothing to do with the Cooper case, and haven't a clue on exactly WHO was the hijacker. RN99 replies: That includes me as I have told you both publicly and privately. Blevins writes: Fact: 75% or better of the many email responses we get here regarding Blast or KC say they think we are onto something. These are people who have either read the book or seen the Newsvine articles. RN99 replies: What is the percentage for those who do not have to read your book or Newsvine articles to rule out KC?

Knoss, you are full of bullshit! But I have told you that before haven't I? In the post-WW2 era, the age to register has always been 18, specifically your 18th birthday. But you could register a short time before your 18th birthday and, with good reason, a short period of time after your 18th birthday. Typically, people who were in the process of being drafted (and all were 18 or older) would be sent for a preliminary military physical examination a month or two before they were expected to be inducted. If they passed the preliminary physical examination, they would be inducted in the normal sequence of events and have to pass still another physical examination which was usually done on the day of their actual induction (assuming, of course, they passed this final physical examination). For people who volunteered for the military, typically the minimum age was 17, but it required paternal consent. The Navy had a specific program for 17 year olds that would cause them to be discharged on, or the day before, their 21st birthday. Knoss, You do not know what you are talking about with regard to the Selective Service System. Or any other Federal Government agency for that matter. Was it mental problems that kept you out of the military?

What is interesting is "trip queens" is not what I wrote. I have no reason or explanation as to why it says that. So since it started that whole side tangent, I apologize, my fault. Nice "turn around" with it though. Matt Matt, You started using the term "trip queens" in your post no. 33752, dated April 16, 2012, in replying to a post from mrshutter45.
-
QuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteQuoteMy offer to do the math for the Release point and LZ still stands, yet none of the trip queens can agree on ANY weather, even though there is a a record of it, it is called wrong, by people who weren't even there. So, some one get the winds aloft, I will do the math. Some one get the point over the ground that the A/C reported the "bump" when they believe "Cooper" exited. Matt, Again, you introduced the word "queens" and I doubt if you intended "trip queens" as anything but an insult. You also write: "Now, if there is an accepted posting of the Data and its results, why does anyone give credence to the fluffers and their garbage?" Only the fluffers give credence to their own garbage. And they do that only because they don't like the results from the valid data.
-
Matt and Blevins, Where have you two been for the past year or two? Didn't you notice any number or posts by Hominid a few weeks ago about the weather? And he included a discussion about the winds aloft using information from people who were there and measured the actual weather parameters. The mathematics of the jump are simple. It is just what the clock read and the VOR and DME receivers read at the time of the jump that you need to come up with. Surely a couple of "queens" such as yourselves can come up with such simple information. At least give it a try. "Queens"? your homophobia is exposed. Nice PA, you lowered your self to BK. Sad. Problem with the weather your alluding to here, no one agrees with it! BK says the science is a cover up, others are trying to say their memory from 40 years ago is better than the written reports. The math for this has existed long before cooper was a wet spot on his mommies bed sheet. True, it is easy, so who already did it? Matt Matt, You need to start reading your own posts. In the first sentence of this post, you introduce the word "queens". So are you actually complaining about yourself? You write: "Problem with the weather your alluding to here, no one agrees with it!" In reality, only people who can't read weather data disagree with it. Hominid used valid weather information and drew valid conclusions from that information. Maybe you should take a look at what Hominid did. Also, the FBI has a predicted jump point and drop zone for Cooper dating back to 1971. This chart is posted on Sluggo's web page. You really need to do more research to expand your horizons.

Blevins, you have been on this thread since August 1, 2010. And I can personally guarantee that Jo Weber and others have been critical of Bob Knoss from long before that date. So you just jumped on the anti-Knoss bandwagon. Your humility in stating that "I still consider you [Georger] a smart guy and a pretty good expert on the Cooper case in general." is laughable. First, you are no expert whatsoever on the Cooper case. Second, I don't remember you even being listed as an author (third or otherwise) on the first edition of "Blast". Nevertheless, just recently you claimed that you were the author (no co-authors mentioned) and you were demanding that the FBI re-investigate something that they have already ruled out. You need to read that line at the bottom of your posts. Why don't you join Knoss in an exodus.
