I do not know any thing about Groom lake. In 1979 - I could not see from the highway and thing other than desert (what I call desert) but that was vegetation there but low vegetation... I did NOT see the rocks he told me about - so obviously they were beyond my view or removed. He told me about a town I could not see from the highway and a lake. On the other side of this lake is where them man lived he told me about. Again the guys....I got the impression it was a small town and little was said about that. He did meantion JUMPING in that conversation and I have explore this yrs ago. Yes, per the man I spoke to about this area - there was jumpers who lived there. There is no water there except after rains and it is unlikely that the water collects to even an inch deep after a heavy thunderstorm. All the lake beds in that area are dry and the same comments apply to them. Area 51 is adjacent to the nuclear testing grounds operated by the Atomic Energy Commission. Radioactive fallout has contaminated Area 51 and Groom Lake on many occasions. No one "lives" in Area 51 or the nuclear testing grounds. Groom Lake, some other aeronautical facilities, and probably the AEC facilities, have living quarters for personnel who are there temporarily for tests or other activities but no one lives there permanently. There are no "towns" in the Nellis Air Force Range. Lake Tahoe is near Reno, NV on the California border. Groom Lake and Area 51 are about 80 miles northwest of Las Vegas, NV. Robert99 Am I right in thinking it's been established already the list of serial numbers the banks received was in sequential order? Meaning checking for a specific bill number involved just looking for where it should appear in the list and not checking every single number? What were the 3 years of the $20 bank notes found by Brian Ingram? Were they 1969, 1970 and 1971? According to Tosaw's book, page 127, all of the bills were from the 1950, 1963, and 1969 series year. The series year is printed on the front of the bill. And any bank teller, who can count and chew gum at the same time (which is probably all of them), could check that year at a glance. Those three series years are the only ones that would need to be checked against the FBI's list. Another glance at Tosow's list of the serial numbers suggests to me that they are not as random as advertised. The lists includes more information about each bill than just the serial number. Most of the bills appear to be from the 1969 series year, then the 1963 year, and then the 1950 year for a limited number of them. Since Blevins first claimed that ALL twenty dollar bills would have to be checked against the list, then reduced that number to 50 percent of ALL twenty dollar bills, perhaps he should do some serious analysis of the numbering sequence of the bills on the FBI list. Well, you say it would be easy for tellers to check their twenties against that 10,000 number list. This is where we part company, opinion-wise. I think it was enough to make tellers pull out their hair, and they probably breathed a sigh of relief when their particular bank gave up the effort. Remember...there are 33 OTHER pages comprising that list, not just the 300 or so numbers shown. Take a look at the picture again. Then try to tell me with a straight face how 'easy' a process it all was. Blevins, for a given bill number, you don't have to check the whole 10,000 bill list! Get real! You are saying that if you are looking for the number 2 in a list that is ordered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 that you would continue past 2 and go all the way to 9 even after finding 2. Again, get real! And for alphanumeric sequences you don't necessarily even start at the first bill on the list. You go to the first listing that starts with the first letter (alpha) or number (numeric) of the bill you are checking. If the bill serial numbers are in a ringed binder, it probably wouldn't take a reasonably experienced clerk more than 15 seconds to check it out after she first noticed the appropriate series year on the front of the bill. Your efforts to make checking the serial numbers so difficult that nobody would do it is because YOU need to explain why none of the ransom, other than the money found at Tina Bar, was ever found. And I can assure you that not only was the requested search a headache for tellers, but that all NW banks gave up this search within a maximum of six months, and most (according to former Cooper case agent Larry Carr in his audio interview at Wiki) within THREE months. A senior Treasury official I interviewed by phone said that such a comparison search at their level back in 1972 would be nearly impossible, due to the sheer number of bills they receive each day at Printing and Engraving in DC. I believe him. He added that even if such a search were ordered, it wouldn't have gone on very long despite what the FBI requested. The bottom line here is that if the hijacker did not spend any of the money for at least six months after the hijacking that passing them off in 1972 would be reletively easy to do. And this would probably not be the first time that stolen cash with recorded serial numbers had been successfully laundered. Cooper, if he did such a thing, was not the first, and he certainly wasn't the last.

Skipp Porteous ran both AA and SAT, under deep cover as 'Spy Boy Da Magic Fly Boy'. (Don't believe that CIA-front stuff you hear everywhere else. That was just a ruse.) In reality, some sources say AA had 727's, but their official website says no. SAT apparently had 727's in service. That was actually my point back there. Whether the military obtained some, painted them OD green and used them in Vietnam I haven't a clue. Didn't Dr. Leeker also put out a paper on 727 operations in SEA?
