No, the pilots license still requires a 40 hours of flight time which you must have accomplished certain requirements, a written (which must be at an authorized testing facility) and an oral/practical. Furthermore, you cannot learn everything you need to know to be a pilot online. It takes a good bit of flying to just be able to do it safely. Now, when I read the thread, it seemed that the OP was talking about a full course with a test that gets signed off by the local S&TA or whatnot. That I do NOT agree with at all. I believe you're talking about more of an augmentation to the in person course that allows you to do lots of the studying beforehand, yet still have your skills and abilities tested by an examiner. If so, then yes, I would support that. However that sounds like a different animal than the OP was talking about. Nah. For a few reasons: 1) I have no issues with viewing the site on my iPhone, sometimes replying to a post is a tad annoying but I'll live. 2) I don't have access to the code that the site runs on, so it would be a major pain in the ass to figure out how the database of posts is set up. 3) I'd have to support every fucking phone out there, which is just going to piss me off when someone on a Motoroloa V330 can't see his friends list. Its because once the canopy opens, they are loading the top connection points and all the slack in the harness is pulled up. There is slack introduced when they're sitting in the plane, walking or moving around. Check all the straps are still snug, because they've probably loosened up from moving around. Do NOT crank them down while they're sitting in the plane! They will be super uncomfortable in freefall/canopy. Also after opening, I loosen their chest strap because it's usually digging into their chest once we open. US military rigs do (main canopies anyway) However, sometimes ya get a little tangled in the lines and even after you pop a canopy release assembly, you still get some dragging time. No, that would be a transformer. An inverter changes DC to AC. Not always, it could be a switching power supply that doesn't use transformers. Furthermore, I don't believe I've ever seen a transformer that will work with DC. To go 12V DC to 24V DC would need a DC-DC power converter.
