So thats why we can't bust clouds... and all this time I thought it was some FAA law... "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

Very technical computer question - master boot record
theonlyski replied to pilotdave's topic in The Bonfire
Its probably because Vista and 7 use a 100mb partition on your hard drive for their boot loaders. The drive you removed held that partition, I say back the stuff you want up to another hard drive (or install a fresh one and load the OS on it, then plug your current one back in and access all of your stuff.) Aside from partition magic, creating a new partition, resizing the current ones to accomidate the extra partition, and installing it from there....it is the best option. You say intentionally not a clicky, yet you make a clicky for it? "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

You know me and I only serve for the discounts..... well for that and the cheep booze and free antibiotics. I joined the army for the uniforms... I figured it would help me get laid. Or he didn't check them for compatibility. I know of a couple master riggers that get a rig for repack, pull the main out and cut it away, I&R the reserve, then re-connect the main without even taking it out of the d-bag (yes, they have a method to ensure that the risers dont get flipped, swapped or otherwise screwed up) "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

I usually do pack for myself. That packjob was at the end of a boogie and I was tired. And now I see what happened... This wasn't packed at the farm last weekend and had a card on the rig that says something similiar to: You're welcome for the free packjob. I was drunk and blindfolded though, good luck! was it? Charlie Sheen's idea of a memorable weekend? I don't know about you, but I probably wouldn't remember much of that at all... "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

JUST FYI: Most of those manufacturers don't advertise the discount amounts, and don't want them advertised. If you're military, call them, they don't want everyone and their mother knowing what kind of discount they give us. why not? it's no big secret. and its a great incentive to serve your country I don't serve for the discounts, and I don't know anyone who does. The discounts aren't advertised because they don't want every guy looking for gear to say "Well, you obviously have your prices marked up if you can give the military xx% discount, so give it to me cheaper." Do you see these guys saying how much they sell gear to dealers? Im willing to bet the guys at Paragear, Chutingstar and the likes aren't really suppossed to go off saying they get such and such discount on gear. This is from an email I got from one of the listed manufacturers: "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message

how would that happen? Unless there is something that Im not seeing, in the event of a main total (nothing out), the skyhook disengages the red loop and the reserve PC takes the deployment. If you were to bend the hook opening down or something similar, the skyhook could get hung up on the lanyard. I was referring to how it is packed and not bending or modifying the hook. Packing it with the open end downward would actually make it more unlikely to get a total. Ahh, sorry, I thought you said you wanted to bend the hook down a little bit, disregard my previous statements. http://www.unitedparachutetechnologies.com/PDF/skyhook/09109PackIns.pdf Looking at the way the skyhook sits it appears that open end is facing to the left. So just maybe a violent spinning malfunction to right might just yank the skyhook lineyard off the open end of the skyhook. Maybe instead of having the bridle and skyhook sitting in a horizontal positioning. Setting the bridle and skyhook (the open end of the skyhook) in a more downward angle would correct this issue? If this is truly an issue? It could potentially not release the red lanyard in the event of a main total... I think that would be very bad. When I visit my cousins in WA in the summer, they're usually wearing shorts and a t-shirt while I'm wearing pants, a shirt and a jacket. And, there's no way I'm going in that freezing water you have out there, not even in the summer! It's 46 degrees here right now! Its 26, with frost on the ground... Don't wanna hear it! I've been married a long time (quite happily, thanks) so I just gotta ask, does that kind of stuff ever, ever work? I sure wouldn't do that if I was trying to get a date. Some chicks might screw you for it, but those aint the kinda chicks you wanna 'date' (read: screw) for too long. My 2003 Z71 Silverado is going to be hitting 100k miles here soon, I had the A/C compressor go out at about 96k, other than that, absolutely no issues that have costed more than $100 to fix. ETA: the compressor likely failed due to me being deployed and it being parked, allowing the freon to pool in the compressor and screw it up royally. I don't count that against GM, more of a lack of care type of problem. Well, yes, now that you mention it. How about a truckload of petite, blond, blue-eyed coeds for us older folks? UF Tr-Deltas would be a good start. Im with you on this one old man... Or a nice skydiver with an EPA license to carry freon, and the rest isn't rocket surgery. I had the AC compressor refilled with freon a year and a half ago, but it ran dry after a month. With two other vehicles at my disposal, it's not worth the expense to fix this one. Just drive with the windows down in the hot season and crank up the heater in the cold season. Ahh, the ol' 4-60 a/c unit. "I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
