Apparently not enough people were changing their batteries every year, so now they mandate that the batteries need to be changed every repack... This one sounds hilarious to watch, Probably not quite as fun as watching drunk blindfolded packjob races. Of which you can only claim victory if you jump it the next day. It wasn't their rigs They did leave a note on them though... which was probably funnier than watching them get packed. I'd agree. I think maybe some rigger thought that the Seal would stay in place better that way... (Well, I guess they were right about that..) Seals aren't hard to place... its harder to press the seal than it is to place it. I dont know how the hell he would have passed the seal thread through the closing loop without some sort of needle... I just picked up a year old Argus (DOM 12/09) for $750 shipped. The service is every four years (can be done at places like chutingstar) and costs ~$120... I just returned from my 3rd deployment, 5th overseas 'trip' and I didn't fucking know we got post deployment comp time. It took me going to the ETS Finance brief to learn that... The way I add it up, the army still owes me 4 more weeks of it... Dear Lord, I had to negotiate and finagle to get from 2 weeks to 3 weeks per year. Us military types only get 2 weeks per year (at least the AF does anyway). He's been saving for a while, and appears to be sitting on a healthy balance of use-or-lose leave. Yall only get 2 weeks a year? I coulda sworn all of the military got 2.5 days a month... Swapping out reserve pillow for D ring?

Keep in mind, it might be cheaper to go thru UPT. They're now using a spectra ripcord assembly which uses cheaper hardware than the steel cable that all the others (that I've seen) use. The cable doesn't have much play on my V3, so I would definatly have them look up the order form measurements and ensure you get the right length. Also, check the Velcro fastener (move the cutaway pad out of the way, there are mating velcro (hook and pyle) strips inside the harness webbing, make sure they have a good grip. Actually what I meant was that I was wondering if they are still pushing to get the max exit weight to be 300lbs from the 160 and above as they have previously advertised They're certified under TSO C23d, with the max suspended weight (on the OP-253) being 290 lbs. When I got my coach card, my instructor told me that a coach CAN give a pull signal to a 'student' if there was an unsafe condition that existed and you need to end the skydive RIGHT NOW... If you see your 'students' bridle coming out and flapping around... do you: a) you wave off, and watch them track trailing a bridle... possibly getting a horseshoe b) give him the pull signal and get that problem resolved now? For other things (bad spot, high winds) you should have instructed your student that if (s)he sees you wave off, they should turn, track and pull, and if they see you pull in place, they should pull ASAP. Thats part of the pre-jump training. Sure, you would probably be ok... but it won't look as good and you'll want to consult a rigger to ensure that your reserve will still deploy with all the extra pressure from the main being shoved in next to it. figure a packer would know that kinda stuff? I did a rig inspection where one of the leg strap friction adapters was on wrong... it seems it could cause something like that to happen. One of our military riggers said they had to send 100 harnesses back to the manufacturer because they shipped them all with the friction adapters on the v-rings installed wrong.
