Stop being a sissy, landing on snow is softer than landing on the dirt! I had a hard time getting my landings down, then it just sort of clicked and I wasn't having anymore problems. Don't kick yourself over it, most of this sport doesn't come naturally (hell, I did AFF 4 like 4 times). If you're using different canopies for jumps, that might be screwing with you as well. They will glide differently you have to use a slightly different landing pattern. IIRC there is a certian percentage of your canopy size that should determine your PC size. I went with F111 on my new rig because it seems after talking with several very experienced riggers, the F111s don't 'bounce around' while trying to inflate. FWIW: I generally use the altitude that I feel I could kick someone in the head to start the first stage of my flare, keep it level and finish it off when the canopy wants to stop. On no wind days, if Im coming in a little hotter than usual, its not completely uncommon for me to pop up a couple feet, but still level off and stop around the same height.
