  1. absolutely 100% true. people not expect you to always answer the phone, or read a email/text immediately, and if you dont, there it something wrong with ... you. my wife and i shut off the phones at night, to avoid the useless jabber, work and non work related. i remember the good old days when you would be working outside, the phone would ring, and you would just continue on. and the caller would realize you were either not home, or simply busy...and not freak out. I read an article a few weeks back titled "Things Babies Born in 2011 Will Never Know." It was a long list of items from paper maps to land lines, but at the very bottom was my favorite: HIDING. Basically the accompanying paragraph said what you just wrote. Someone would call and if you answered great, but if not, there was no way of knowing if the person was dead or busy or hiding, and it WAS NO BIG DEAL. I haven't had a phone in over a month and I deactivated my facebook recently, and I LOVE it. I really think everyone is way too connected.
  2. Disclaimer: I did not read past the first page. I am coming off of a god awful number of hours travelling. Dav, don't you have a teenage daughter? Wouldn't you say she's beautiful? Now do you, as her father, think she's "messed up"? I am just a little curious here..
  3. Well that blows. I always find that when I stop giving a fuck about anything, I can no longer feel good about anything either. That's the problem with blocking emotion, you can't just block one. Fuck, why am I going soft here? I'm talking to skydivers. Warped, good luck!
  4. I have til the end of May, not that it'll matter since in 2 days I will be living in a country where 21 is NOT the drinking age . As for my evening's drink? Champagne. Wedding gift from a friend.
  5. I'm with you. We land in Korea next Wednesday, I am NOT looking forward to the cold. It was in the 40s here yesterday, and I was not a happy camper.
  6. DAMMIT! I won't be there this year... Maybe in a couple years, we leave for Korea on Monday.
  7. When I was in high school, I remember guys at my lunch table snorting crushed oreos and other shit
  8. Psh, if we get even a hint of flurries, everything shuts down here in Alabama.
  9. How many husbands did you take on a honeymoon with you? No wonder you only got out of the room 4 hours a day
  10. Of course. The whole thing sounds like a rush job to me. More like a class trip or a guided tour as opposed to a honeymoon. A honeymoon should be a little more 'loose' in the planning. Go someplace with plenty to do, and no real plans to do any of it. Yep. I agree with this 100%. The hubs and I were planning on taking a cruise, but then we realized we'd feel obligated to get off the boat in port and such. We found a nice vacation rental in Savannah and left everything open and unplanned. We really couldn't be happier with it!
  11. I also agree that you aren't giving yourself enough time. On top of the fact that it's not enough time for a normal vacation, please keep in mind you will be on your HONEYMOON and NEWLY MARRIED!!!! Patrick and I just got back from our honeymoon, and we took it after three months of marriage. On average we were out of the apartment for about four hours each day.... I'm just saying, you may want to factor in more time for "rest" if you plan on seeing any of either city at all. Good luck planning your trip!!!
  12. I love your dress. And that is a very cool picture.
  13. Gorgeous couple. My husband and I put together 50th anniversary presents for his grandparents this month, and I found many pictures of the family similar to those. It still amazes me how well his family has held onto their family history and photos and heirlooms over the last century and a half. I don't know my family history before my grandparents, so I think it's a wonderful thing to go sit with his great-grandmother who tells me stories and shows me old pictures.
  14. That is such a generous offer, thank-you so much!

Well, if peoples husbands didn't answer me Nah, just saying, I didn't realize how much I was missing out on the BBM group till Matt showed me. Figured we have enough people with other phones to get something else rolling. Well he was kinder than I normally am. I just ignore your annoying ass. He was worried you'd think I was ignoring you (which if I had been awake I probably would've ).

  18. Current oven, never. It's a little schizophrenic though, so I try not to use it in general.
  19. So yesterday Patrick and I bought our plane tickets to Korea, and TODAY, I picked up my visa! It was such an easy process (just like it was 10 years ago), but it was really annoying hearing so many of the military paper pushers tell me I wouldn't be able to go because I am not applying for command sponsorship. Anyhoodles, I am pretty excited, in a little more than a month, we will be making the big move!
