  1. I'm curious about those claddagh rings. Are they Celtic in style or something similar? Our wedding bands were carved in the Celtic knot style. I need to find a new set (hers got lost and mine has never been the right size) "The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown)." His looks like the attached picture, mine is MUCH smaller.
  2. Or what the girl is not thinking. I really think this is the one thing where the girl doesnt get much choice, and therefore doesnt have to think about it. If a man chooses to give a woman a token of his love, let him. Yeah its going to suck like hell if it brings a solid chunk of debt into the marriage, but it happens all the time, and people deal with it. Just like people deal with the expenses of having a wedding. And btw, its not just the girls who want to show off the ring. My husband (who isnt very materialistic) WANTED me to have the ring, so I could show all my friends how much he loves me (not that they dont want to just vomit at our cheesiness when we're together, but still), and because of tradition. The engagement ring is supposed to be a symbol of the man's worth and ability to care for his future bride.
  3. I told my husband if he was going to spend 7-8 grand on me, I wanted a brand new rig. We ended up buying claddagh rings for our wedding bands and they doubled as engagement rings for us as well. (outwarded facing before we married, inward facing once we married.) Austin, congrats, I am so happy for you!
  4. Dammit. I was really expecting boobies.

  6. Ive never seen anyone getting pied while still in their gear... That is just brutal. All the ones I witnessed were after hours. My pieing at skyfest this year... iluvtofly in the background did the honors of smashing a delicious strawberry creme pie in my face. I would be ok with not getting pied again though. It took a good week that get all of it out of my ears.
  7. Three years of calc later (and two years after my last calc class), I hope I never see any of that shit ever again. Kudos to those two men, but still
  8. Thats what I was thinking as soon as I saw the thread title

  10. Yeah mine were clumped together about halfway down the page... When I clicked the "show more," there was 622 hits. Guess I wont be running for public office now ETA: wow it even included snapshots of the "who's online" page.

Thanks for posting the article, I had heard about the changes here and there over the last year or so, but I didnt know when it happened or what all it entailed. When I was there in 2000, they had command sponsored tours that lasted 2 years, but far more families went on their own it seemed (mine included). At first, we werent sure whether we wanted to go "accompanied" or not, but after awhile we decided we really want the time to truly experience the culture and make a home. Three years seems like a scary long time sometimes though. I literally havent lived anywhere that long since I was 8 (and that was only a three year stint at Hood)

None that Ive found as of yet. There are a few scattered throughout Asia (and obviously Australia's not too far away), but we dont want to be sporadic, vacation-only jumpers (especially when leave is hard to come by at this point in his career). We feel it's safer to put the rigs away and get recurrent once we are back in the states
  15. So whats your waist size gonna be with the corset on? 18"? I have no idea, but they only had one that fit me, and it was the most revealing one... YOU COULD BREAK MY CONTAINER, THATS WHAT! Seriously though, I had a friend try to try it on when I first bought it. Literally could not get 2 arms in or even an arm and a leg. Could only put his legs in the legstraps and hold it up... It was made for a woman smaller than me.

She's in the Army. Is there really a choice? First off, (thank you to her, for your service)... BUT, I can't figure out why anyone would "want' to go to Korea! I will! Im sorry they hated it, it seems most people either love it or hate. I dont think Ive ever met anyone in the middle ground. Clarification: My husband is in the Army, not me. I will pass on the thanks to him. But yes, this is something I want. I actually had to talk him into asking for Korea. It's a pretty neat place. Thats great for you...My wife and Inlaws both lived there, they hated it! Sounds like your of for an adventure...I wish you luck! BTW, post pictures when you get there...

Yes, they do have puppy farms. Supposedly, the longer the cooks, the better it tastes. I never tried it while I was there last time, probably wont this time around either.

Well it has been for at least a decade, and even if it wasnt, I'd still be going. My mother and I went when I was younger "unaccompanied." The visas arent that hard to come by. Especially when you are Korean

  24. I have never seen the forementioned Lilo & Stitch, but I loved the design of Toothless whatever the inspiration.
  25. I dont know, I'd probably put him in a close category to Lady Gaga... most of my peers who enjoy her also enjoy him. so, I doubt it would be punishment for the girl. I'd go with big band music. [cough]Michael Buble is big band [/cough] Fine! Let me rephrase. Big band music Im talking about is 40s era. Swing music and such.
