    The air volume between packed spheres will always reduce when the radii of the spheres shorten, so smaller is always better.     I agree, but you would have to add 'while tracking on your belly'. It just seems wierd that the Wingsuiting Safety article on the Home Page of DZ.COM written by DSE has a picture showing "palms down while on belly". I guess it was the best picture available and not the best picture for showing how to do it correctly. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    I was a little confused by your explanation, because of the up/down reference. Anatomically speaking, moving the palm facing up is supination, moving the palm facing down is pronation. This is based on standing up with your arms straight out. I believe you are suggesting he pronates his wrists. When belly tracking the palms would be facing the sky or pronated, or considered to be anatomically palms down. Beggars put their palms up, which I believe you are indicating is the wrong way to track. From the point of view of the tracker, his palms are down, from a viewer tracking alongside, they are up. It is confusing to use up and down. Pronation/supination leaves no doubt. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    There is a reason it is called "a higher calling". He has already committed his life to a cause to such a degree I can't even begin to understand it. He is nothing at all like millions of other walkers, runners, etc who on occasion do good things. He is a Monk, for Christ's sake (pun intended). I am completely clueless about how much fun Monks are supposed to have, but I guess things have changed a lot. I'm sort of surprised he is allowed to waste time being on a DZ.com rather than giving glory to God. Please don't consider my flippant attitude as a sign of disrespect to those who follow a higher calling. It just ain't me babe. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    I for one am thankful I was lucky enough in the DNA lottery to be born in America. Every damn one of us has a lot more 'handed' to us that several billion other people on the planet.     I am not as perplexed. I don't think his Eighth Amendment right includes sex reassignment surgery, nor does it include hair plugs, colagen lips, body piercings, or a myriad of other medical procedures that are not necessary to maintain/prolong life.     Sounds like you would make a better skydiver than a monk. Didn't you vow that the time given by God is not wasted but in whichever way necessary used in his service, whether for prayer, work, meals, spiritual reading, sleep. I'm not sure how skydiving falls into any of those above categories. p.s. I would make a lousy monk. For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    After a couple hundred jumps, I am still a beginner at RW and a total NEWB at freefly. I have finally reached a stage where I might consider a 2way RW jump not exciting, and if I extrapolate that out it will probably take another 20 years for me to think an 8way is boring.     I especially liked the part of the video (2:06) that said "Threatening Trespassing on Puplic (sic) property is illegal". I'll try to use that defense when I climb Mt Rushmore to pick George Washington's nose, or do something else silly like base jump in a national park.     Except for statutory rape, all rape cases have to be judged individually to determine if consent was given or withheld. If you look at a scenario where consent was clearly given, the question becomes how long does that consent last. It can clearly be revoked at any time ("no" means "no"), but if she falls asleep in the middle do you have to wake her up to determine if you have continued consent? Or do you need to improve your technique so she doesn't fall asleep? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    I agree that if you initiate sex without consent it is rape, but did you read the entire article? From the article: Do you think you would get different results if you poll were, "If a women consents to sex, has sex, stays in bed naked, passes out, and you are enough of a jerk to mount her again without getting explicit permission you are a rapist?"     That is a good analogy. Most people would prefer not having to tie their shoes with gloves on, and I, for one, take my gloves off to tie my shoes. You did leave out the aspect: "while falling to your imminent death". For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.

    You definitely lose fine touch for critical items like disconnecting your rsl, finding your hackey, etc. It is usually up to your DZ and AFF instructor, but if you wear gloves, at a student level they should probably be fingerless.     The United States Olympic Committee is a private, non-profit organization not affiliated in any way with the US Government. No national olympic committee (NOC) in the world is affilliated with their government. They are all private entities. Olympic athletes are no more official representatives of the US than skydivers competing in Dubai. Also, of the three groups you mentioned, only the soldier is being shot at. To my knowledge, that is one of the few exclusions (and it is only available for enilisted and warrant officers). Senator Marco Rubio now wants to put Olympic athletes in the same category as military personnel putting themselves in harms way in a combat zone. Is pointing your toes really well worth the same benefit? For the same reason I jump off a perfectly good diving board.
