it's a good idea to jump BOC with camera wings, but i don't. but i think i may one of these days when i get another rig. later
-
i used to jump BOC, and once i tried pull out i loved it. it is safer in the case of a horse shoe. it's nearly impossible to have one. that's one of the main reason i like it. it's a very clean deployment. you don't get pilot chute hessitation because it is pulled out of your hand. and if your low, it make you feel good when you pull because you know that you'll have something out, because you just opened the container but it is a different pull and somthing you have to get used to. and now a day's it's not a hole lot safer, with the bridal protection on rigs and all that stuff, it hardly makes a difference. jump em both, and then decide, if you can. later

that's bull shit. i mean you don't go call the cops on someone. at the most you may hint to the dzo that it is going on, but that is only if there not cool with it, and let them deal with it. it's one thing to be asked and then tell the truth. and it's another to turn someone in. it's just not right. later

that sucks that your leaving. you have helped me out on a couple of helmets. like the one that my danm dog got a hold of. you guys were really helpful, and you didn't even make fun of me over the phone about it . i hope you like your new job though. later

branden that's good that you'll be out for safety day. it is also goiong to be like 60 saturday, and like 5 to 10 mph of wind, sounds good for jumpin to me (well, swoops downwind should be fun too) later

wow, i didn't realize anyone else was there . i new some guys came up in a truck to get me back to martini shot. but i didn't realize that anyone else saw it. i know all the camera guys at martini shot were mad at me because i didn't tell them i was going to be swooping the pond that early in the morning. and my response was F*$@ off, i wasn't planning on eating shit. later

Should I or not?? What difference does it make....????
skygod7777 replied to rhino's topic in The Bonfire
you mine as well. it really is a easy test. then you can just stop paying for your B or C or whatever you had. and just pay for the D. i never got my A, B, or C. i just got my D. being a dropzone owners son means i really didn't have to have anything (hell i couldn't have a licience until i was 16 anyway) later -
i don't know for a fact at all, but at PIA they had some canopy hanging in the corner of the both. i think it was the ninja, like it was all redesigned maybe. but everyone at that booth seam to be kinda cocky, and no one came over to talk to me about the canopy, or there rigs, so i left, and didn't come back to there booth. later

shortbus is a big welder. he's going to compete in that kind of thing. good luck man, i'm sure you'll do good. later
-
well, i had heard this from adam at PIA. he said that brian had another proto type that he was jumping. and i was just wondering if anyone had heard anything about it. i'm sure that it will be bad ass. later
-
andy, what's up man. this is kelly, i was packing for you at rantould, remember. i read somewhere you work for big air now right. and i see that you went smaller than the 120 you had a rantoul. keep us all informed on when the sensie will be out, please!! i can't wait. later
-
you say manufacturers, which ones?? i know PD does, but i didn't know anyone else did. just wondering later
-
well, isn't there a crossed braced that is made over seas?? like the nija by parachutes de france. and there is alsp a canadian company that makes a 27 cell canopy. i can't remember who it is, but i saw on while at Lakes whales over PIA, some guy had one. and i heard a russian company has vx copy. but i heard that on rec.skydiving from my dad, and am not sure if it is true. but if it is, that would be 10 manufactors that would be selling crossed braced canopys. later

the onyx they jumped won't be the one out on the market. that one has very heavy front riser presser, and the rears were "bow" out like your break lines should be. they new one they said they built had more hanging off the rears. this is what dan told me at PIA. later

i'll be out this weekend, like friday, and then i have to go home and take care of my dog. then i will be back out saturday for safety day, and maybe make a jump (if it's not too cold). later
-
ya, it really wouldn't of lasted too long. he left at the same time i left for school this morning, so that would of been the end of the "grounding". but heres the thing (everyone will thing this is funny, but i don't) when my dad grounds me, i am still aloud to go out with friends, go to parties of friends (non skydiving related), but at to the airport, or jumping, no i'm stuck, not allowed to go. and that really sucks, i mean, when i get grounded, i REALLY get grounded . he likes to take my main away from me when that happens so i won't jump anything else (it's just no fun if i can't have a crossed braced to jump). later
-
well, for most it would be on the top of their list, but not dad. later
-
yes, that is pretty much what it came down to. but you have a 181, they are not as bad as the smaller ones also. precision freefly admits that they have a short toggle stroke. and for a reserve, in my opinioin, shouldn't have such a short toggle stroke. even precision doesn't. on there new reserve, they made a deeper toggle stroke. later

Ellipticals and Line twists.. a question.
skygod7777 replied to Auryn's topic in Safety and Training
ya, i have had line twist under my old heatwave, fx, my current vx, and may other canopies. it's really no big deal. if your spinning, grab the oposite riser, and stop it (if you have time of course). what it comes down to is what dave said. it's your body position on opening, and then if your sitting in your harness even. if you are even, you'll get out of the line twist just fine, but if your are cocked to one side or the other, your screwed, until you get back straight. later -
i haven't been to bed yet. when i got home (about 4 or so) i fell asleep. so now i'm up, and can't fall asleep for a while. it's 2:30 here in indiana. later
-
oh, and to add, now that i look at it, it is kinda funny. later

no though, this really sucks. i mean, come on, he's a rigger too, why the hell can't he do it. he's the one that's been around longer, and he always gives me crap when every i disagree or am doing something different when packing than him. his responce is "now, who's been the rigger longer here" and about that time, i through my tools at him, and leave. and i'm glad that i made your guys night, at least soneome else here is in a better mood than me. oh, and to add to it, my dog is dreaming, running in her sleep, and now she's barking too. it's kinda freakin me out. later
