  1. do a search dude. you'll see this has been posted about 3 times before. later
  2. ya, it should do the trick, but i don't know from experience, only from what i've heard. i have always had female dogs from as far back as i can remember. later
  3. well, i can agree with you, but this is for the guy who was a bit off on 1 riser or something when he made it. it is just a precationary thing. like a cypress, or rsl or something. like just in case. later
  4. i would say say if you get his little balls choped off, he'll quite doing that. seriously. later
  5. what's up. i talked to the guys who designed it. and what it does is at 6 g's it will make the force of the pull reduced. now, if your at 6 g's you have other things to worry about, because you'll never get your hand in to cut away. BUT, what it also will do is if anyone makes a incorrect riser, with this system, you can't hardly mess it up. it just makes it easier. and this is also basically what booth said when i had lunch with him and some friends at PIA, and asked him about it. it said he may go to it, but there is really no reason to because they make risers correctly, but if everyone else does, he will too. he basically see's no advantage, or disadvantage, for his rigs or any other rigs with correctly made risers, but like i said, for people that make risers incorrectly (i'm not sure who) this will fix the problem. later
  6. well, i can't answere you question, because i don't know. but obviously they're working just fine, people have cut aways, and unstable reserve deployments all the time. and i guess it could break, but i've never heard of it on a reserve. now on a main, i've seen it a couple times. later
  7. i guess this is the reason for it being canceled. later
  8. well, i havn't seen them, or jumped them, but i know the guy who designed them, and designed the hornet and heatwave. he says there really great canopys, and it's not a selling thing, like he wants to sell me one because he knows i already have the next step above there most high performance (the Amax, and i have a vx). but defintally look into them. find a dealer and get a demo. later
  9. yes, a little, i reall don't know how much exactly. since it's on the bottom, it would last longer than being on the top skin. the top skin gets the most damage (sunlight, packing, whatever) later
  10. and i totally agree with you, but we are talking about a jump plane. it goes in circles in like a 5 mile radious (just guessing here, i have no clue, but not far anyway) and if the engine were to go out, ok, well, you loose radio, and transponder, ya, but you just circle back down onto the field. i mean how many dz's are really that busy. i'm not to sure what jump airplanes use electric for trim. the flaps, yes, but flaps are not required for landing, helpful yes, but you don't need them (well, if it's a short runway yes). and the likely hood that a dzo would do this is kinda slim, right. a lot of these questions have a slim chance of ever happening. but they could. and remember, just because i do things one way doesn't mean you have to. anyone who answers here, it's just there opinion, and everyone has a right to state there opinion (well, maybe not a complete right on here, but kinda ) later
  11. well, at first it would be just like a zp canopy. the "F-111" of today, when brand new is like zp for like 15 or 20 jumps. but after that, the sink rate would go up, and then that would be shorter swoops. in my mind at least. maybe someone can correct me on this. later
  12. dude that sucks. just really sucks. i have lost a couple of dogs, and it just sucked, so i know how you feel. later

    It's 4:20

it's 5:20 here. but does that mean i can have more than 1 4:20 a day, easter time, central time, and then western time, huummm. later
  14. openings. the F-111 bottom skin give more consistant opeings. and since your lift is gererated from the top skin, the f-111 isn't a big deal. and the test jumper says it also dives quite well, but i don't know that for a fact. later
  15. well, i haven't jumped one, or seen one fly, but nancy at jumpshack really wanted me to jump the 74 firebolt they have. it's not a stock size yet, but she really wanted my to try it to compare to a vx. i told her i would, but i haven't gotten around to it yet. the f-111 bottom skin kinda makes me think the swoops would be much shorter. later
  16. i'd stay on the ground, but i wouldn't do any more than that. IE, i wouldn't go snich on anyone for it. i'd still go. then that is the pilot that would die first, and it's his license. i would say something to him though. i would make sure he didn't get on the load, somehow. i'd be asking some questions on why it didn't happen. like if it was just a bit out, and there was a busy weekend coming up, and didn't have time, i can understand that, to go a bit over well, that would kinda go back to # 4. it is wrong to disconnect it, but depending on if he had a good reason, i would still go. but again, i wouldn't go to the FAA about it. i'd still go. 7. The battery in the aircraft is bad (leaking) so the DZO removes it and "jump-starts" the aircraft for each load? 8. The winds pick up in the afternoon and jumping stops. A few people have started drinking, including the pilot. The winds calm in the evening and a few of your friends want to make a sunset jump, and the pilot agrees to fly? 9. On jump run, your are in a cloud, nothing but white in every direction, the pilot, turns and yells for you to go? 10. Your rigger returns your rig to you, but did not replace you AAD batteries that have expired? 11. You become aware that the pilot is not calling Air Traffic Approach before dropping jumpers? 12. You witness your DZO pack a reserve for a local glider pilot without a rigger's ticket or the supervision of a rigger? 14. You land off, in a tree, 20 feet above the ground? 15. At 500ft you initiate a hard toggle turn, and your steering line breaks? 16. During taxi, you notice two jumpers without their seat belts on, or only draped over their leg? 17. During take-off you notice the cameraman in the back of the airplane is not wearing his camera helmet and it isn't secured with a seat belt? 18. Your friend "pencil-packs" his reserve when he discovers it is out of date on the first day of a big boogie?*** if it was my signature, i'd charge em 40 bucks for a repack, even though i didn't pack it, just to make it so he would go get it packed. later
  17. that's kinda what one of my friends said. he was like damn, here you are all smart in math and crap, but then your going to go kill yourself jumpin out of them planes, dumbass. later
  18. ok, this is kinda funny, i got some test scores back that i took. for like the state or something, they were dumb tests, but anyway. it said in math i'm gifted. i guess that means i'm above average. i think Yoshi (kevin) will think other wise after one weekend that i was a bit out of it. but, in language arts and reading i'm average, and below average. i wanted to take the test scores home to show my dad why i don't do as well in english, it's not because i don't do the work, i'm just dumb in that area later

    Gutted

dude, that really sucks. i really hope everything will work out and you can get a job in the next couple of weeks (hopefully sooner though
  20. that's really cool man. and as to the principle, he has no right to tell you what you may or may not do with your son. if you want him out of school for 3 days, that's how it goes, and he shouldn't need a excuse. later
  21. no, but i do with my vx no, just kidding. you really need to practice you procedures a lot. i do numerous times in the plane, and i feel them on the way to the door, and do another little practice. i hate it when i see people not even touch there handles in the plane. later
  22. first canopy. well, that wouldhave to be a big fat skymaster 230. and at 11 years old, and about 115 pounds and a 135 exit weight, it was slow as hell. edit: well, if you want first owned canopy. you see mom and dad bought me about 4 canopies before i just bought my own, so that would be a 85 vx. later
  23. oh hell kevin. i think you may be in the wrong forum. i'd got to rigging. i would post, but i'll just talk to ya saturday about it. later
  24. i see how it is kevin. i see. it will come back to ya well, ya i would say most of the time. just because i did a 720 on my second jump on my vx, everone tells me that was dumb, and seams like someone my age would do, with out thinking, imagine that. and then, say all said it was even worse when i did a 1080 on the like 7th jump. i don't see what the big deal was. later
