  1. Well, the story calls the charge "possession of a firearm by a prohibited person". That sounds like a separate situation from the drugs. Any felony conviction, or misdemeanor domestic violence conviction will put someone in that class. Some states include involuntary commitment for mental health too. I would think that if it was a probation violation, it would be worded differently too. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 2. Yeah, but they've only managed one. He's ronrey. Seriously, I doubt it. Making a reasonably powerful nuke is not a trivial task. Making it small enough and light enough while still powerful is far more difficult. Making mockups and photoshopping missiles in flight (and landing ACVs approaching a shoreline) is easy. You mention the beginning of the NPR story involving Jesse Bering. You left out the 2nd part. The part where he looked at the evolutionary (survival) value of believing in a God. Which turned out to be pretty high. That belief had serious and valuable consequences. It doesn't make God any more (or less) real. It just offers an explanation as to why that belief structure seems to be "hard wired" into our brains. Sort of like pattern recognition. We now see faces in clouds and stuff like that. That ability is a direct carryover from the ability to recognize camouflaged predators that were hunting people. We've taken the ability to spot a tiger in the brush to "There was a civilization on Mars!!!" "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 4. Remember, this is Ron 'The first amendment only applies to free speech, we want a christian theocracy' D1120 you're talking to. She has no 1st A rights of freedom of religion. Well, not that religion, anyway No meaningful response due to quotes out of context. I explained my position to Georgia Don. Your first post said that you (and your group) wanted to create a theocracy in anticipation of the coming tribulation. That sounded to me like you wanted that theocracy in place when the Rapture came. Your response to Georgia Don was that Jesus would set up the government himself. Which is it? And thanks for clarifying your position on the Judge. It's about your dislike of Muslims. Got it. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 5. I don't dispute that there are others. And I know that the hatred and bigotry isn't just restricted to Christians. There seem to be more of them than anything else, but that's not too surprising, given that a majority in this country are of that faith. But that doesn't answer my question: What, in particular, is wrong with that situation? That is was a woman? A black woman? A Muslim? Or that she practiced her 1st A rights of Freedom of religion? 6. Pics show S/N of Harness/Container. Text of ad mentions that it was jumped at SkyKnights in East Troy. That sort of stuff isn't something a thief would likely post. And it's an easy call to East Troy to check it out. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo
  7. Mandatory? I don't agree with that. Good idea? Absolutely. "Comm Capability" is a nice thing to have. If you don't want to hear it ring, turn it off (they all have a "off" button, ya know ) What if you land out and hurt yourself (sprain an ankle or knee or similar) and can't walk back. Or have a friend land out, you follow them down and find them hurt. Leave and go for help? Or stay with them and hope it arrives? Or simply the ability to call back to manifest and say "I landed out, I'm ok and will walk back" and save them the time and trouble of searching for you. Or "I landed out by the Antique Mall. Please send someone to come and get me." "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo

They are all equally right, and equally wrong. Equally right in "Your God doesn't exist"? Equally wrong in "My God is the only true God?" Agreed. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo
  9. Well, it didn't exactly "pass". It moved forward one more step. Remember "I'm just a Bill" from Schoolhouse Rock? And for those who call it "religious freedom", when it's just a legal validation for discrimination, Georgia had a similar proposal. It never made it out of committee last year, but it's sponsors plan to bring it back. An opponent made them "put their money where their mouth was" by attempting to add an amendment that would ensure this law didn't remove any protections from discrimination. The "religious freedom" crowd claimed that anything like that would render their law useless. Kinda shows what they really want. Freedom to discriminate. And BTW, churches and clergy and religious organizations have a lot of leeway when it comes to that sort of thing. They aren't the ones who need this sort of law. Any church can choose who it does and doesn't want to marry or admit as a member. So the idea that "churches are being forced to marry gay couples" is blatantly false. Despite being repeated over and over. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Lucky McSwervy "~ya don't GET old by being weak & stupid!" - Airtwardo
  10. What do you mean by "This sort of thing"? Women judges? Black women judges? Muslim black women judges? Or allowing religious freedom? The Snopes article covers it well. No requirement to take the oath on any particular document. Not even a requirement to take an "Oath before God" at all. An "affirmation" is an acceptable action. The article also notes the reaction from the usual bigoted idiots. No real surprise. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." Very typical of the 'devout' when you pose a difficult question. I have spent years here addressing every question to the best of my ability according to my perspective - in vain. Ok, here is the question posed above by DanG: I've heard it phrased in a variety of ways, but to put it bluntly, EVERY society says "my God is the right one, all others are false". Except the Baha'i, and they are too unifying and accepting to be a "Proper" religion Since there are something like 6000 "gods" worshiped around the world, how is it that any of them are right? 12. But there's the rub. The president isn't elected by the majority of America. Potentially, it's less than twenty two percent of the voting population. Skip to 4:17 for the example... The president is elected by the Electoral College, not by the people. It was designed that way because the founding fathers didn't trust the people average white men to vote the way the elite white men wanted them to. They didn't even conceal that fact. The founding fathers realized that "the people" are often stupid and easily manipulated. They wanted a buffer against that. The requirements to amend the Constitution are "supermajorities" for the same reason. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 14. First off, why? To "make it last"? I've never heard of one wearing out. Better grip? Maybe a bit, but the idea of a "D" handle is that you can hook your thumb in it for a good grip. Second, what will the powder coat or paint (I include Plasti-Dip in paint, I know what it is) do to the metal handle? Any damage potential? I don't think so, but I don't know so. How are you planning on doing this without getting some paint or PC on the cable? Having the cable able to move up and down independent of the handle is important. Last, if someone brought me something like that to repack, I'd refuse. At least until I could check with the manufacturer to see if they approve. I would consider that an "alteration" of a TSO'd part. Without approval & proper documentation, I wouldn't touch it. I could certainly be wrong with that interpretation, but I tend to err on the side of caution in matters like this. I welcome any one telling me I'm wrong (as long as they can back it up). Various branches of Christian faith, as well as other honorable organizations, have a long history of caring for children, widows and orphans. Zika inflicted babies do not have to be murdered for the sake of money management. Your God acts in mysterious ways, making virus carrying mosquitos bite pregnant women to cause brain defects. All part of the grand design, I'm sure. Nice fellow, this God chap. Well, the Pope said that birth control was ok for people in the affected areas. 17. True. The White Supremacists are just as scary as, say MS13 or the BGD. There are a lot of white illegals here in the US. Mainly eastern Europeans. Lots of the "criminal element" (think Russian Mafia). I don't hear anything about them, just the Mexicans. That simply isn't true. There are a lot of "well-to-do" minorities who get discriminated against on a regular basis. It has nothing to do with their socio-economic status, it's because of the color of their skin. Unless you've seen it, experienced it, lived it, you wouldn't understand. I live in northeast Wisconsin (near Green Bay). There is a city near here (Appleton) that, until the 60s, was a "sunset city." That meant that all black people had to be out of town by dark. It wasn't a written law, but it was very real. That attitude has changed some, but not a whole lot. My older sister married a black guy. The reaction from a lot of people when she brought him back here (before they were married) was... Interesting. There were people who acted as if they had never seen a black man before in their life. There were probably people who never had seen one "up close and in person." It's an incredibly insular community. And it's not the only place like that. It's a hell of a lot better than it was, say 40 years ago. It's no longer socially acceptable to be openly racist. So the hard-core racist folk have gone underground. At least until Trump brought them out. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 18. Fire codes in the US require 2 exits from each floor for rentals. Codes for residences are a bit less strict but are catching up some (new construction). You can't have a bedroom in the basement unless at least one of the windows is big enough. I have neighbors who recently dug a big hole and installed a large enough window in the basement so that it would be legal. You are supposed to have a way out of a second (or higher) floor. It can be roof access (you are trapped on the roof, but not in the building) or an "escape system". This can be a simple knotted rope and a strong enough hook, or something like an escape ladder. I lived in a 2nd floor apartment with my (now ex) wife, we had the "knotted rope" in the living room. I had a quick discussion with the landlord, went to the hardware store and bought a ladder like I linked above. He deducted the cost of it from the rent. We kept it in the bedroom, right under the window. Never needed it, but it was nice to know it was there. Smoke detectors (working ones) are required in all rentals and all new construction (exact requirements like how many per floor vary). Sadly, many fire deaths are preventable. Far too many people die because the smoke detector wasn't working. "There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." 20. There have been more than just that one LBGT incident. Several where black people were made to pay in advance. HERE is one. There are more if you search. Again, it doesn't make headlines. 21. Well, the Oregon bakery is a good example of what you say. But Denny's is a pretty good example the other way. Very little public outcry, very little condemnation. Lots of claims of racism. 22. I take it you've never been in a situation where you are part of a minority group that is being discriminated against. Housing and employment are two areas where what you suggest doesn't work. 23. Your "grey areas" aren't all that grey to me. For example: The mechanic can pick and choose who he works on. As long as he is the "Church Mechanic". That is, he offers his services only to members of his church. As soon as he hangs a sign up, obtains a business license and is "open to the public" then he's legally obligated to follow the law as far as discrimination goes. He can choose to refuse to work for any specific person, or refuse to work on any specific car. But if he decides to discriminate against people based on their race, then it's discrimination (same as baking cakes). The principal of a public school is required to follow the law regarding discrimination too. If he can't hire females to teach males, or any Muslim, then he shouldn't be a principal (at least not of a public school). And until suicide becomes legal (and not just in cases of people who are terminally ill and choosing to end their life before it gets nasty), human sacrifice won't fly. 24. Well, he was in southern Utah. That was one of the truly bizarre things about this whole situation. The 'occupiers' were allowed to come and go as they pleased.
