  1. That's a pretty fuzzy line. Prosecutors are used to it. As screwed up as the RICO statutes are, they are in place to address exactly this sort of thing. A few of the questions that need to be answered: Was he aware of the actions before they took place? Did he do anything to stop them? Was he aware of the actions when they took place? Was he aware of the actions after they took place? Did he express any displeasure about it (did he get mad that they happened)? Did he take any action to ensure that sort of thing didn't happen in the future? Have 'bad stuff' happen enough times, where the accused 'boss' is aware of it and does nothing to stop it or keep it from happening again and you have a case.
  2. Well, it's a really good way to get out of jury duty. One mention of it during the 'voir dire' process, and you can plan on going home. It also goes against the jury instructions. I sat on a jury last fall, and the instructions we were given at the end of the trial, while not using the words 'jury nullificaition', included something to the effect of: "It doesn't matter if you like the law or agree with it. If the evidence shows that the defendant violated the law as it is written, you must find them guilty." I agree with Wendy that it can be a way for 'the people' to fight unjust laws, but more likely would be used as a joke or a 'fuck you' as Yoink pointed out.
  3. Not really. This is the first case I've heard of. All of their previous claims were... Bullshit. There was no (or very, very little) fraud until recently. And yes, I know your post was at least somewhat tongue in cheek.
  4. Maybe. But I don't think so. Remember, one of the first FBI investigations was to see if Trump was 'compromised'. Trump has had shady dealings, including with the mob (US based) for a long time. Getting stuff built in New York City & Atlantic City doesn't happen without them. There's some pretty strong indications that Trump has been laundering money for the Russian mob for a while. THAT doesn't happen without Putin knowing. The Russian government (Putin), the mob and the 'kleptocrats' who really run the country are all intertwined. Also, Trump has some pretty strong sexual appetites. The "pee tape" is one example. I would bet heavily that Putin and his cohorts have more tapes than that. And don't ever forget that Putin is 'old school' KGB. They were absolute geniuses at compromising people. Getting 'the goods' on a rich, famous & powerful American "business tycoon" would be a huge victory. Look at Trumps behavior with the Russians back in early 17. Look at his behavior at the summit meetings where Putin was present. Look at the joint press conference he & Putin had. Every interaction is basically showing that Trump is under Putin's thumb.
  5. That's funny. The Mueller investigation started in May. Not yet 2 years. He's gotten several convictions and guilty pleas involving people lying about contact with Russia. The judge basically called Flynn a traitor. Not too bad for a 'witch hunt'. How many convictions did the investigations of HRC's emails & Benghazi end up with? What indications do you have of HRC & the Dems 'colluding' with Russia? HRC took a pretty hard line on Russian shenannigans, when she was SecState. Putin hates her. OTOH, he's pretty clearly got Trump under his thumb. Money & sex, most likely. Trump was telling him publicly to hack & release more of HRC's emails during the campaign. Trump also stated he wanted to lift the sanctions against Russia. The ones HRC was instrumental in implementing.
  6. Download the podcasts of Skydive Radio.
  7. They Don't Care He's not black & he's not a woman. He's trying to shut down Planned Parenthood & he's letting them keep their guns, no matter how many shootings there are. That's all they care about.
  8. Can't really comment on a tear, but I've had 'rotator cuff issues' for a while. No tearing, but some minor impingement. The doc who I saw took my arm, yanked & twisted it in various ways while asking 'how does this feel?" She decided there was no tearing, and gave me PT. I've been doing it daily (mostly) for about seven years. Huge improvements (almost no pain), no progression since.
  9. Oh my... I thought you were playing hockey. Welcome back. Gear has gotten prettier. Everyone has an AAD & a MARD. To a large degree, the 'canopy Nazis' won (this is a good thing). The old 'cowboy' days of big turns and swooping into the main landing area are pretty much over. Again, a good thing. Some places don't even allow big turns and swooping at all. (a bit of overkill, IMO). Almost everyone has a smart phone. Pics on the plane, in the landing area, all of that are pretty common. There's an app called 'Burble' that lets you manifest from your phone. It also lets you send a message if you land out (various degrees of urgency, from 'I'm ok & walking back' to 'call 911 right now') Pretty handy. Everyone spends a lot of time in the tunnel. In air skills are pretty good. Everything else? Not so much. Gear knowledge & understanding in particular. Lots of folks don't seem to pack for themselves after they get their A. All the 'cool kids' are freeflying or doing 'angly stuff'. The only ones flying belly are the 'crusty old guys' and hardcore belly comp folks. After hours shenannigans have taken a huge hit. The fact that everyone has pic & video capability in their hand has discouraged a lot of the nudity and silliness. Nobody wants evidence of this sort of thing. Understandably. The people are still the same. Even if they are different people, they are the same. Best bunch of weirdos, miscreants & delinquents I've ever hung out with.
  10. There are 'more than a few' deaf jumpers out there. There was one at my original DZ when I started. I got my first rig from him when he quit jumping (due to other factors). The only one I know still active on here is Billy Vance. And he doesn't jump any more. But he may still be a good person to 'talk' to. You'd need to find a DZ willing to work with you. Not all will be. I would think that the biggest hurdle would be communication while under canopy. Typically, it's done with radios. That won't work for you. But there are alternative methods. Paddles are the one that comes to mind. Again, it's on the DZ to find a way to make it work. And you have to find a DZ willing to go to the extra effort.
  11. Interesting. Some people were wondering why the FBI used so many agents to arrest Stone. They were outraged that they used more FBI guys than the military used to take down Bin Laden. I thought it was just SOP. Turns out that Stone has posted videos that may well have made the FBI a 'bit uncomfortable'. https://www.miaminewtimes.com/news/roger-stone-threatened-political-violence-and-civil-war-prior-to-instagram-aimed-at-judge-amy-berman-jackson-11093425 Turns out that the threat against the judge was fairly tame, compared to some of his stuff.
  12. As was noted, any rig made in the past 10 years or so will likely be 'freefly friendly.' Is where you are jumping now likely to be where you jump in the future? I know military folk tend to get moved around more than the rest of us. What is popular at your DZ? What do the local riggers normally pack? While there are some variations among rigs, for the most part it's a 'preference' issue. And having a type that your rigger is familiar with and comfortable packing is a plus. Bigger rigs are out there, you just have to look harder & longer.
  13. Bingo. Why do you think Trump really ditched the Iran nuke deal? They were in compliance. They were actually starting to behave and act like 'good neighbors'. Gaining prestige and influence in the region. Which challenges Saudi Arabia's power. In a 'fair' competition, SA might actually have to start following international rules. You know, not murdering dissidents in foreign countries, respecting human rights in their own country, not supporting vicious rebels in the region. That sort of stuff. They don't want to do that. And the "Trump family" does business in SA. And wants to do more. So Iran goes back to being a pariah, SA kills Kashoggi and gets away with it, and now... Wants nukes. What could possibly go wrong with that. Its not like there have ever been any terrorist acts committed by Saudi nationals in the US... Oh, wait. But its not like they were aided in any way by the SA government... Oh, wait. Oh my. I thought a Trump administration would be a bad idea. I really had no idea that it could get this bad.
  14. So if the KKK came to DC & lynched Trump, would he still say that they are 'very fine people'?
  15. That would require actually caring about the military, the soldiers and their families. Despite all of the 'military worship' that is currently fashionable, I don't see much evidence that anyone in power actually cares about them. Lots of lip service, no action.
  16. Actually, they do verify the stories. In the other thread he started, he linked ABC news. About as "Main Stream Media" as it gets. They have been all over the story that the attack was staged.
  17. You have repeatedly said that Trump loves the uneducated, Professor. Apparently, he's now taking steps to create more of them.
  18. Well. they are revealing where the 'emergency' funds are going to come from. Once source is DoD funding for the military. Funds intended for housing & schools for military dependents. Yes, Trump is going to use funds intended to build schools to build the stupid wall. Worse yet, his sycophants are supporting this. Lindsay Graham says that kids in Kentucky need secure borders more than a new school. https://www.huffpost.com/entry/lindsey-graham-kentucky-school-border_n_5c69ef82e4b01757c36ca404?utm_campaign=hp_fb_pages&utm_source=main_fb&ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000063&utm_medium=facebook&fbclid=IwAR3IobngRX-B2cAArtqa5xZLyPiiu80St0U4sQ8w2AQW5n6K1Le37XkCXMw On the positive side, apparently people are surviving the emergency. It's a struggle, but people are tough. https://cheezburger.com/7764229/twitter-users-are-having-fun-talking-about-how-theyre-currently-surviving-during-this-national?fbclid=IwAR3_SFmgtiUrsPcSLnWj80CLninRizu5V_RM4h6rQJygJaxXh7KEvnlYvo4
  19. Those parodies will immortalize him. I did a quick search. I found that there has been a fair amount of effort to stop them, using copyright rules. And just as much effort to get around those rules. The director of the original film is apparently ok with them. But there doesn't seem to be any indication of how Ganz himself felt. There is a video interviewing him, asking about it. But the video is in German. And it's subtitled. And it becomes evident, by the end, that the subtitles are not real. That the video is... A parody. Epic. Top row, middle of search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=Bruno+Ganz+downfall+parodies&oq=Bruno+Ganz+downfall+parodies&aqs=chrome..69i57j69i60l2j0l3.7528j0j9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  20. Those don't say that there was 'no collusion'. Of course, the report that says they 'didn't find any collusion' (which is very different than 'no collusion') also said that it was not yet complete. Of course, someone conveniently ignores that part.
  21. Maybe. Sowing divisiveness, spending stupid amounts of money on worthless projects, distracting us from what's going on elsewhere, those all benefit Putin. But I think the real driver is his ego. He refuses to admit he's wrong. He needs the illegals to be his "demon" to whip up hatred (despite the fact that he hires a lot of them). And his base (the 'alt-right') really thing this is a good idea. They think it will help. Reality isn't their strong suit.
  22. Not mentioned in the linked article In the earlier accounts of the attack, Smollet said the attackers told him "This is MAGA country". . Not that they were wearing the hats. As usual, someone has no clue what he's talking about.
  23. Well, the guy who's name is on the cover of that book (we all know he didn't actually write it) also couldn't run a casino without declaring bankruptcy. Three times. Admittedly, he turned a hell of a profit on those bankruptcies. But he screwed over a whole lot of people in the process.
  24. Got any credible accusations of tax fraud against any of them?
  25. Yes, yes I will. Good grief. Go to the home page and read the headlines. http://humansarefree.com/?m=0 It's everything. Politician pedophilia, ultrasound & 5G & vaccines are bad, aliens, gun confiscation, dinosaurs aren't real, and, of course, the Fifth Dimension (while it sounds like the 'Age of Aquarius', it's not the song).
