  1. Technically, it wasn't 'one of Li Yang's brothels'. She sold the chain some time ago. However, she founded the chain and it was widely known for providing 'special services' during her ownership.
  2. Again, true to a point. There's a reasonable theoretical argument that Manafort's actions were divorced from the campaign. But that argument needs to be made in a vacuum. When taken as part of a bigger picture, including (but not limited to) Flynn, Papadopolus, the Trump hotel in Moscow (including giving Putin a multi million dollar condo), the Trump tower meeting, the Wikileaks email dump, all of that; it's much easier to believe that this is all part of Russia's attempts to influence the elections. To get Trump into the WH instead of HRC. And if Trump was part of it, involved in it, knew about it, then it becomes criminal. I am very interested in what Mueller has found.
  3. How many times are you going to post this? My count is at 5, but I may have missed one or two. You've gotten some answers, follow them up.
  4. True to a point, but why would the Russian government collude with Manafort to tamper with the witnesses if there wasn't something in the past? I find it very hard to believe they would get involved in this unless they already were.
  5. Well, technically McVeigh didn't shoot anyone. He blew them up (and collapsed a building on top of them). That list has a LOT of folks missing. Dylan Roof, white supremacist and confederate flag waver, shot up the church in South Carolina. Patrick Purdy, one of the earliest 'school shooters', in Stockton CA. He was a white supremacist who shot up the school because it was largely attended by Vietnamese refugees. Stephen Paddock. The Vegas shooter. "Sovereign Citizen" believer, among other stupid crap. I won't disagree that these sorts of shooters come from across the political spectrum. But the majority (by a large amount) of them in modern times are right wingers.
  6. So that means he is, right? All three?
  7. I somewhat doubt that even Boeing fully understands the stability issue. Or how to fix it. The axis of thrust was moved. That has all sorts of consequences. The level of testing required to understand all of them is pretty large. I'm guessing that they picked the simplest/easiest/cheapest way to fix what they understood. It may turn out that a more complex fix is needed. One option would be to include a power reduction sequence into the 'self correction' in addition to the trim change. It may turn out that there just need to be a few more sensors and some programming adjustments (increase redundancy). I'm going to guess that whatever fix is decided on, they're going to make sure the pilots are aware of it this time. Considering that the MCAS was not originally included in the operating manual, it's not super surprising that the pilots in the first crash didn't fix the problem. They likely didn't know what was going on or why. Short article that covers a bit of the system: https://theaircurrent.com/aviation-safety/what-is-the-boeing-737-max-maneuvering-characteristics-augmentation-system-mcas-jt610/
  8. What would you call him? Liberal? He's a fucking white supremacist. Those are generally considered 'extreme right wing'. What would you consider Stephen Miller and Steve Bannon? Centrist? And while the shooter may not have liked some of Trump's policies, he did say that Trump was "a symbol of renewed white identity and common purpose". The guy who sent the mail bombs praised Trump. He had Trump signs all over his van. The guy who shot up the synagogue in Pittsburgh praised Trump. The Coast Guardsman who was arrested with a bunch of guns, planning on using them praised Trump. How can you pretend that Trumps rhetoric and hatred have nothing to do with this?
  9. How so? I brought up the incident as an example of how the Trumpettes like to pretend that everyone else is to blame and they are not at all. You tried to make the point that they did nothing wrong and that they weren't really Trump supporters. You are still way undercounting the MAGA/Trump hats. In the first minute of the video I linked, I could count at least 15. The camera had panned less than 180 degrees in that time.
  10. When? I keep hearing you say this: Indictments coming soon!!! Details coming soon!!! E-mails coming soon!!! The truth about Obama's birth coming soon!!! Got any sort of supporting evidence? Anything at all? Or is this another "Pizzagate"? Edit to add: Also, you have decided that everything the D candidates did in their past disqualifies them for office, yet you say specifically that you don't care about what Trump did before taking office. Care to explain that double standard?
  11. Well, even a good driver isn't good once they are drunk. That's been proven more than once. And I disagree that 'radical extremists' of any sort are 'good'. Pretty much a contradiction in terms. But as far as Muslims in general (or Evangelicals or any other religion) or immigrants in general (illegal or legal), most are in the 'good' category. As are gun owners.
  12. I tend to be a bit cynical about this sort of thing. Maybe more than 'just a bit.' Boeing is too big. Too important. Too many jobs, too much taxes, too many 'friendly' congresscritters. I can see this getting fixed, and I can see the public accepting it. Increase the number of sensors. Rewrite the code, making it harder for the computer to get 'confused'. Make it much easier to override and shut off the computer's input. In the end, this is a case of (computer generated) runaway trim. That's been a known issue ever since electric trim was invented. I think they will be able to get past it. Besides, it's not like the accidents were here in the US.
  13. Oh please Professor. Breitbart isn't 'complicit media'. It's independent and accurate journalism. The fact that Steve Bannon was part of the Trump gang is completely irrelevant. God, we really need a sarcasm font.
  14. Oooh. And put the coal industry in charge of the EPA... Oh wait. Trump already did that. Ya know? With all the changes and improvements to the site, you'd think that they could have created a 'sarcasm' font.
  15. How many hats & sweatshirts can you count in this one? https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/19/us/covington-catholic-high-school-nathan-phillips.html Note that there are red MAGA caps, white MAGA caps, and red, white and blue stocking hats with the MAGA phrase on them. There are also blue "Trump 2020" hats.
  16. Mission Accomplished? Trump declaring that the US will pull out of Syria gave them a fair amount of confidence. While they have suffered some setbacks, and are currently vulnerable, they are a long, long way from being 'holed up and making a last stand.' https://taskandpurpose.com/isis-comeback-iraq Helpful hint: This is from 4 days ago.
  17. Sorry, I meant "Both-siderism", the idea that 'both sides are equally responsible' in a given situation. One of the most glaring examples is the KKK rally in Charlottesville, where Trump said that 'there are fine people on both sides' (or words to that effect). What 'false narrative? The kids were wearing MAGA hats. The kids were shouting 'Build the Wall!!" at people with brown skin. Pretending this didn't happen is pretty common among Trumpettes. They only believe what they want to.
  18. As was noted in the NPR article I linked, NASA used Pi to the 15th digit to get to the moon. "Close enough" depends on how far you want to go (and still get there).
  19. Well, it's really easy to blame Trump for much of this. He didn't cause it, but he sure took advantage of it. He's a very good con man. He sees an opportunity and seizes it. He saw all the simmering prejudice and bigotry that was brought to the surface by Obama's presidency. He even jumped on the 'birther' bandwagon. I'm still waiting for that 'very big' revelation that he promised... Back in 2012. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/us-election/9629646/Donald-Trump-to-deliver-very-big-Obama-revelation.html The entire "Make America Hate Again" campaign was tuned to that crowd. And it was quite successful. Look at the Trumpettes on here. They swallow all the lies and repeat them back (No collusion!!!! is the biggest). They then use garbage like 'botherism' and the false equivalence above to justify their hate. The incident at the Lincoln Memorial is a good example. While the kids weren't entirely to blame, the fact that they were wearing MAGA hats, standing around people with brown skin (whom they greatly outnumbered)and shouting "BUILD THE WALL!!!!" seems to be forgotten.
  20. Except that the reports of attacks based on hatred are usually real. The reports of sex trafficking rings and violent illegals are usually exaggerated far beyond reality.
  21. 3-14. Calendar equivalent of an approximation of Pi, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to it's diameter. Not as fun as 4 years ago, when it was a lot closer. 3-14-15, and at 9:27 (either AM or PM) was the most accurate it can be. However, this year had a bit of a bonus. https://www.npr.org/2019/03/14/703566696/the-woman-who-calculated-31-trillion-digits-of-pi Pi has now been calculated further than ever before. To 31,415,926,535,897 digits. Which is Pi to 13 digits past the decimal. Not too surprisingly, it was done by a Google employee.
  22. Because he applies different standards to the people he supports. His guy can do anything, and it's ignored. The opposition will be castigated and vilified for anything they have done. Ever. It has very little to do with morals, ethics, or anything like that. It's hating those he hates. Ignoring reality for anyone he likes. Standard Trumpette behavior.
  23. But...But...But... They had foreigners do the research. In a foreign country!!! That's exactly the same as the Trump campaign making deals with a foreign govenrment. Meeting with officials of that government. Promising to have sanctions eased. Laundering money for the Russian mob.
  24. Because they don't want to believe that the purported attack on Smollet is 'quite relevant'. They want to pretend that those sorts of attacks don't happen and never did happen.
  25. You didn't mention the content of the article at any point. You were just whining and crying that FB was being mean to you. It's an editorial, an opinion piece. I'm sure I can find and link numerous editorals that argue the opposite. I highly doubt that you would pay any attention to them, or acknowledge them in any way... Except to call them 'fake news'.
