    Q

Well, the Qcumbers have been awaiting that day for quite a while. Not as long as Ron's been awaiting "SHTF", not close to as long as those sorts have been awaiting the "Rapture", and nowhere near how long they've been waiting for Jesus to come back. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of it. And right now, I'd absolutley love to see Trump 'declare martial law'. Or try to anyway. It'd be a pretty good laugh. For a declaration of "martial law" to have any teeth, the military would have to go along. They've made it VERY clear that their loyalty is to the country, not Trump. And the oath they swore is to 'uphold the Constitution', not suspend it. For those that didn't notice, or have forgotten, Trump tried to use the military against civilians last summer, during the BLM protests. He brought the National Guard (several units, anyway) to DC, planning on using them against the protestors. The military leadership sent them all home as soon as they figured out what Trump was up to. It got a small amount of press, but nowhere near what I think it should have. I honestly can't understand how all the morons who keep expecting Trump to 'declare martial law' aren't aware of this.

    Q

Mitch McConnel is begging the Trump supporters to not object to the election. He knows full well that Biden won. He knows that the Trumpettes don't have enough votes to do anything but make a bunch of noise. He REALLY doesn't want to see the 'sane' Republicans forced to vote against Trump. He doesn't want to see the Trumpette crowd pissed off at the party for opposing Trump. It's gonna be interesting. The Rs are going to be forced to choose between admitting that the whole 'election fraud' line was a load of crap or destroying themselves.
  3. Both Smartmatic & Dominion are threatening libel suits unless all the Alt-Right propaganda outlets retract the 'stories' about fraud. Heather Cox Richardson on FB: So all the garbage Ron posted about Dominion is... A lie. What a surprise.
  4. Yeah, how long before we start seeing spam posts offering "Genuine Fake CDC Vaccine Cards" along with Passports, "ELTS Certificates" and diplomas?
  5. Given that your freefall skills came back pretty quickly in the tunnel, I'd guess that your canopy skills might do the same. But given that you're 20 years older, you might want to consider staying on something a bit 'more age appropriate' (bigger). However, that's really not something you need to worry a whole lot about. They're going to start you on something pretty big. Depending on the rental/student gear selection, you may be able to go down to a 150 if it seems appropriate (some places have 150s for qualified visitors or really small students). Otherwise, you might be able to borrow a smaller canopy to see if it's where you want to be. As far as logs & numbers go, I'd just be as honest as you can. You say 'about 1100'. How confident are you in that number? If it's 'fairly' then start your new log at 1101. If not, maybe 1051 or 1001.
  6. Under what circumstances do you see the votes from those states being 'thrown out'? NONE of the lawsuits that have attempted to do that have gotten anywhere. Every time, the courts have found no evidence for fraud. You know, court - the place where lying about stuff is a crime. In fact, all of the states have certified the elections. The electoral college has convened and voted. Biden won.
  7. True. But the world we are in today has changed more than 'just a little bit' since last year at this time. Adapting to those changes has been... Challenging. But I've been doing a fairly decent job of it so far... I think.
  8. Well, one of Darwin's ideas was 'survival of the fittest'. These folks were perfectly 'fit' to survive in a 'non-pandemic' world. They've shown that they are not as 'fit' to survive in a world where contact with infected people is not a good thing. As the understanding of the evolution process has grown, one adjustment that has been made is the idea that 'fittest' is more accurately expressed as "adaptability." Those that can best adapt to changes are most likely to survive a changing world. Again, adapting to isolation, mask requirements, all of the things that would assist in surviving this situation are not something those folks are doing well. Selfishness, ignorance, gullibility, 'rebelling' against authority (while supporting an authoritarian idiot), all of those things inhibit the ability to adapt to the situation.
  9. Not something I have complete knowledge of, but "Full RDS" is redundant. Pretty sure it's: "RDS" (Removeable Deployment System) - slider, D-bag & pilot chute all come off. "Removeable Slider" - Just what it says. Only the slider comes off. "Freebag" - Pilot chute & deployment bag are not attached to the top of the canopy and 'sail off into the sunset' on deployment. This is what reserves have.
  10. Ha. You actually believe this, don't you? Well, I'm pretty sure that the City & State of New York are 'building cases' against Trump and his spawn. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them indicted before summer.
  11. They don't. They CAN'T. They're in way too deep. If they try to convince the Trumpettes that the whole thing was a con, they will destroy their party. Many (most?) won't believe it anyway. Those morons will convince themselves that the "Deep State" got to the Rs and made them lie to cover up the 'truth'. McConnell is quietly telling the Rs in the Senate not to oppose the confirmation of Biden's win. He doesn't want it to turn into a shit-show, where the base will attack anyone who supports the legitimacy of the election. But the base will attack anyone who doesn't attack the legitimacy of the election. It's possible (not super likely, but possible) that this will tear the R party apart. Look at the quotes Bill has posted from Parler. Those morons either can't or won't give up. The level of unreality they support is frightening. The former cop, now accused felon, is a good example of this. He claimed that there were 750k 'fraudulent ballots' in the van full of A/C equipment. Why? What would those 'ballots' be doing there? Aren't all the ballots in the hands of the election commissions? And what good would they be in the van? It's too late to put them anywhere, too late for them to count, too late for anything. The logical disconnect for this is pretty huge. And this guy was a former cop. And a Captain. That's not an easy position to reach. Yet he still is so fucked in the head that he does this. And I doubt he's alone in his thinking.
  12. It's a fun place. Make no mistake, the tandems pay the bills, but the DZO knows full well that it's not going to be a fun place to jump if the fun jumpers don't get a good chance to jump. He wants a good place for himself, his wife and his 2 sons to jump. So he does a lot to encourage the fun jumper community there. I chose to stay away this past year (big place, lots of people, close to Milwaukee), but I've been there on a regular basis since 2015. Hopefully again next summer.
  13. IIRC, by the time the 'party' debates started, Trump had gained enough traction as a R candidate that they really couldn't 'flush' him. The morons & bigots loved him from the minute he started, and even before that because of his 'birther' claims (which were shown to be as true as just about every other piece of garbage he's uttered).
  14. Well, I think it was more that 'Trump found them.' It was pretty clear from the beginning that the GOP was rather embarrassed by Trump and his garbage. But as he gained popularity, they decided to take him in.
  15. They can be, but many (most?) aren't. As noted above, until you get your license, it's best to stay at one place. There are a variety of reasons for this, many are based on 'continuity' and 'familiarity'. Most DZs aren't super comfortable with someone 'walking in off the street', claiming to be a student, wanting to continue where they were at the previous DZ. At minimum, you'd have to repeat the last level you completed so they could evaluate where you really are vs where you say you are. But once you are licensed, you can go anywhere you want. There are some places where local 'rivalry' is present. But, unless the DZO is a dick (and some are), the idea of jumpers hopping around to different places is usually fine. I've only jumped at 7 different places, but I've never been put down because I jumped at somewhere else. In fact, the opposite is often true. I'm invited to come back again. Most DZs (and DZOs) don't consider other decent, well run DZs to be 'competition. For example, Skydive Chicago & Skydive Midwest both draw from the Chicago market. But a couple years ago, the DZO of SDMW was at SDC Summerfest. He sat 'on the couch' with Rook (DZO of SDC) during the filmfest and discussed this. His wife was doing Load Organizing at Summerfest and Rook commented it was nice that he 'let' her do that. First off, he didn't 'let' her do anything. Second, he knows full well that we need to support each other and that will make the sport a better overall place. I know of a bunch of other instances where area DZs cooperated in a variety of ways. OTOH, there can be a fair amount of 'cliquisheness' on the DZ itself. Not necessarily in a 'look down' manner, but simply that belly fliers hang togther, as do free fliers, wingsuiters, canopy pilots, ect. They don't really go out of their way to exclude people, but if you aren't 'one of them', they may not be super welcoming.
  16. This has gone well beyond Trump. Something like half of the R congresscritters signed on in support of the Texas lawsuit, as did R Attorney's General from a bunch of states. They don't care who won the actual election. They want to stay in power no matter what. And Stephen Miller is now saying they will sent 'Alternate Electors" to congress. https://www.newsweek.com/trump-adviser-stephen-miller-alternate-electors-vote-1554581 "Alternate Electors", you know, just like "Alternate Facts".
  17. I don't see Ron as a troll. Not in the way some of the others are. I think he really believes in what he posts. He's not doing it for a reaction (classic trolling). He's doing it to 'put the word out'. On a slightly different note, Trump's 'true believers' are starting to see through the con (finally). A few Evangelical leaders are seeing him for the bullshit artist he is. From Heather Cox Richardson's FB post:
  18. Bullshit. What "path" are you referring to? There are a few ways that the Constitution allows Congress to select the presdient, in the case of unclear election results. That's not the case here. EVERY claim of fraud or misconduct or anything like that has been clearly disproven. EVERY SINGLE ONE. The level of stupidity of those making the claims and filing the lawsuits is unbelievable. And I really mean that. If I hadn't seen video of the testimony in Michigan, I wouldn't have believed that Giuliani could be that stupid. I would have been wrong. So what is happening here is that Trump and his minions are trying to overturn the results of a free & fair election. The Texas lawsuit didn't even bring up false claims of fraud or misconduct. Only that they didn't like the rules that the states had in place for voting and they wanted the votes tossed. Funny how the states that Trump won have pretty much the same rules in place, and they didn't seem to want to overturn that.
  19. Because it's what the Trump administration has excelled at. Their incompetence, in just about every aspect of the last 4 years of Trump, is abso-fucking-lutely amazing.
  20. Gotta love how you equate 'disagreement' with 'demon worship'. How about them election lawsuits? Trump has gone from 'voter fraud' to 'overturn the results'. He's blatantly trying to undermine the Constitution and steal the election. Even the judges he nominated are not permitting it. Still waiting for that 'preponderance of evidence' you promised a few years ago.
  21. No, silly. It's "Curses, foiled again." You're Canadian. You, of all people, should know this. https://stilettosstoliandscribbles.com/2016/07/14/curses-foiled-again/
  22. I clicked on the link in the OP. Now it's showing up in my FB feed. Our robot overlords are watching.
