  1. I once attended a lecture by a security professional who made that exact point. I always drive in a manner that I have a route out. The girlfriend thinks it's amazing that I can almost always predict peoples driving and next move... I consider it a survival skill. You NEED survival skills driving in your neck of the woods. Jesus Christ!! It's worse than the New Jersey Turnpike drivers down there!!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  2. A night partying with Kid Rock after one of his KICK ASS concerts is on my bucket list. Seriously. He does a Redneck Cruise every year but that's way too crazy for my liking... Always be kinder than you feel.
  3. Caribbean - Saint Somewhere.... I gotta go where it's warm. I grew up in NJ on the beach and I just can't leave the ocean. I'm seriously only truly happy with life when I'm on the water/under the water or on the beach. Would we have to work? Or is this an "I'm now independently wealthy - eff work!" kind of situation?? I have to add the thought of I also NEED to be near shopping. Like a Target or a Walmart shopping for household goods like paper towels, toiletries, etc. I spent about a month and a half in Key West over this summer and the "closer to Cuba than a Walmart" killed me. Yes, thay have a KMart but IMHO, KMart sucks. I had to drive 3 hours Florida City to the outlets one day just to get some retail therapy. But they do have a Publix, which is a really great treat!! Now I need to Google what the "department" store type places are in the Caribbean.... I'm gonna be SOL, I'm sure. I do know Puerto Rico has a Walmart!
  4. Ummm.... were you replying to me that I should "get real" because I think it's foul? Always be kinder than you feel.

  6. Don't be. How do you know he wasn't doing it as cover for the chance to steal something quickly if he found a guest's room unoccupied? Yeah, I'd be on the phone to the front desk before the door closed behind him. I know better. My line of thinking from all of my years working in the system always goes to the worst in people. Like you said, cover up story for something in case he going to do something that was less than honorable. I was talking to someone at breakfast this morning and they told me they'd bet he's already been "escorted from the property". And to quote the person, "Those Indians don't play." There's security at every elevator bank and you can't get upstairs without your room card/ID. Now you gotta worry about the staff. Oh well. Thanks for the words. I have a massage booked for later. Hope the male spa attendant doesn't come in the ladies locker room again... but that's another gripe/bitch/story. BTW, when I leave the room I'm leaving a hidden camera rolling. Should be interesting. Maybe I'll get the ghost of Anna Nicole Smith in my room. Always be kinder than you feel.
  7. How telling is it that the first time I let it slip by because I was lazy and hungry something like that happens? It only would've taken a second and I blew it. Always be kinder than you feel.
  8. #firstworldproblems That's for you Brandon... Always be kinder than you feel.
  9. I just called the hotel manager and she said she was very happy I called to let her know. She said it was a very, very new bellman and he was tasked with delivering gifts for the event I'm here for but all staff are told to never enter a guest's room, unless it's a life threatening emergency, when the Do Not Disturb light is on. If I wasn't here and the DND light is on they were supposed to leave a message on my TV screen and phone. She's going to take it up with the employee right now. Hope he's not the one who comes to get my luggage when I leave. Always be kinder than you feel.
  10. You know, if I were home, that would've been the case. I haven't called yet. I hate that I'm on the fence because I'm thinking what if this gets someone fired? Ugh ugh ugh. I think if I was out of the room and came back to find something in the room like candy/etc I would've gone bitch on wheels because I wouldn't have known for sure how long they were here or what they did while in here. They treat me so well here too... ugh. Always be kinder than you feel.
  11. Now I'm going to have to set traps to see if anyone was in here when I leave the room again. Always be kinder than you feel.
  12. Looks like her. That's her IIRC. Didn't she post a while ago she was doing some kind of documentary?? Years ago. She has also said it was the worst thing she ever did (doing the documentary). She said it made her too visible. Weirdos came out of the woodwork looking for her. Ugh. There's some scary and freaky people out there. She seems like she can surely handle herself though!! Always be kinder than you feel.
  13. So I'm at a nice hotel right now. Knock on the door, despite the Do Not Disturb light being on, by the time I get halfway off the bed and to the door to look at the peephole, the door is opening and a dude starts to walk in. I said, "Ummm... excuse me but WTH?". He said, "We just wanted to wish you a Happy Halloween with this token of our appreciation for being a loyal guest of XXXX XXXXX. I didn't hear anyone in the room so I was going to leave it in the room for you." I told him he scared the hell out of me and he apologized. OK, here's the dilemma. Would you make a complaint for someone entering your room despite the Do Not Disturb light being on? I didn't put the latch or deadbolt the door at that point because I had just wheeled the room service cart inside and sat down to eat instead of following through with the latch/deadbolt. Usually I'm quite safety conscious. I'm half grateful for the gift and half ticked that someone would enter my room without permission. I always use the safe and never leave valuables out. I just don't like the thought of someone seeing my personal belongings uninvited. I could hear him going up and down the hallway after I closed the door doing the same to other rooms... Would you mention this to management?? BTW - It was a 3 part box of candies and dried fruit wrapped with an orange ribbon. Always be kinder than you feel.

Great open mic jam!! I think you'd have a hard time prying me away from the Outer Banks!! Always be kinder than you feel.
